As part of ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance the guest experience at Walt Disney World, the Disney Skyliner will be temporarily closed for refurbishmentfrom January 25 through January 31, 2026. Routine maintenance helps ensure the gondola system remains safe, efficient, and reliable.

Heads up for those booking Skyliner Resorts for January 2026.

Disney Skyliner Refurbishment Scheduled for Late January 2026

The Disney Skyliner at Walt Disney World Resort will close for a short refurbishment in early 2026.

According to Disney, the Skyliner will close for routine maintenance from January 25-31, 2026. During the closure, guests are encouraged to utilize Disney’s complimentary bus service.

Are coffee's from the coffee shop available as your drink with the qsdp meal credit? I can't remember from the last time we had a dining plan. I'm assuming yes, but any confirmation would be nice!

Mostly complete. The area that used to hold bakery cases and refrigerated items is now empty and blocked off. There are temporary fridges providing part of the blocking and bakery items are over at the ice cream counter and the small package displays at each food station.

Thanks for the update. These were open previously I believe so this is a new closure. Hope it’s a quick update.

You can use your dining plan but these are snack credits, not an included beverage with a meal credit. Here's the example menu with the snack credit labels:

I second using Computer Pool deck.

This made me laugh uncontrollably. I'm not much of a judger when it comes to other people anyway, but especially in Disney I will NEVER judge someone. The struggle we are all going through is worn like a badge of honor on our chests

At this point no details have been shared other that it is a 'soft goods refurbishment'. What that entails we don't really know.

We're not sure how long they will take. The first rooms have been closed for a little over 2 weeks now with no indication of when they will re-open.

Also, where do you go to make a room request. We like staying in 50s building 3 and want to put a request in.

You may request 50's section on the MDE app when you do online check-in. If you wish to request a specific building you would need to call or, if you have a Touring Plans subscription, you can request a specific building with them. Please note these are only requests and are not guaranteed.

You could also open a Chat in the My Disney Experience app online. That's what I did, and CM was very helpful, still no guarantees of course. If at some point, like looking at your reservation, you see a little help icon in the right margin, you can click on it to start a chat session.

In addition to the suggestions you've gotten for how to add a room location request to your reservation, I'll also mention that if you used a travel_agent to make your reservation you will have to have them add the request.

I would call and add it. But, if you are doing online check-in make sure you skip the room request section online, because it's very generic and more importantly, it has a tendency to override any other requests.
