Nice breakfast this morning in the Old Faithful Lounge at Wilderness Lodge after completing the runDisney Springtime Surprise challenge, 10 mile this morning.

We have enjoyed breakfast and dinner each night. And for those keeping track, we needed to abandon the Cobbler Challenge as it is served starting at 8, which didn’t work with needing to get up so early for the races each morning. Trying to fall asleep immediately after having big dish of cobbler and ice cream wasn’t a great idea. Maybe we will resume it tonight.

Congrats on completing the race! 👏🏻

First time CL WL in May and so looking forward to this! You have all been wonderful answering my questions! We did a bounce back offer and recently added a day in the beginning of our trip (better flight time etc...). We weren't able to get CL for that one night but that's okay. How early can we park our bags and switch over to club the next morning? Debating on Typhoon Lagoon and wondering the travel time to get there in the morning after a CL breakfast? Also, still a bit confused about the whole tipping thing in CL. We are tippers, so some guidance would be appreciated. We are looking forward to a relaxing (only 2 park days) CL experience for our 7 nights! Can we bring evening cordials from the lounge down to the pool? Any words of wisdom for our stay? So, so excited!

Congratulates on your upcoming CL stay. What CL did your chose as that will help other DIS CL members provide input?

CL lounges open at 7 AM. So you can drop your bags at Bell Services any time before then and head to breakfast.

What resort will you be traveling from to TL? TL or BB don't open until 10 AM daily.

Can we bring evening cordials from the lounge down to the pool?
Not in glass but the CL CM should have paper cups available to transfer your drinks to go.

Hi Dave,
We are Wilderness Lodge CL. Resort View. We would be going to TL from there. We weren't going to go, but with coming in a day early with another room, (not CL) thought we might enjoy it! It's been years since we've floated in that lazy river, lol. We stayed in WL years ago, but only a few days, so really looking forward to this! Going to relax and enjoy! Thank you, as always, for all your info!

Are you staying at the WL for your first day / night? If so you could always ask at the Front desk to add the CL add-on for $149 per room for your lenght of stay which would also be 1 night.

Right now to get to TL (Opens May 1st) from the WL you take a bus to Disney Springs (DS) and then transfer to a TL bus. It may take an up to 90 minutes to get to TL depending on bus timings.

On the topic of taking beverages to the pool from the lounge, you can ask for drinks any time the Old Faithful Club is staffed.

Thank you! I thought about the add on, not too sure since we won't arrive until 5 - 6 p.m. or so that first night. But still thinking....:)

Also, still a bit confused about the whole tipping thing in CL. We are tippers, so some guidance would be appreciated.

CL staff & the lounge staff are not considered tipped positions. For many years, the info received from posters who were or knew CMs was that CMs are not allowed to accept tips. They were to refuse 3 times, if the guest persisted, they were to accept & turn the money over to their manager to be used for treats for all staff. Keeping the money could be cause for termination. IDK if this is still the rule or not. Now inevitably there will be someone who says they routinely tip CL CMs & it’s accepted with no issues.

We have stayed CL for over 25 years, multiple trips per year. Personally I have never given cash tips to the CL desk or lounge staff, nor seen anyone else do it either. Certainly never anything like leaving money on the table after eating. Some posters bring treats from their hometowns for CMs. I have brought boxes of a popular local candy on Christmas & Easter which were happily accepted. I’m a retired RN & know what it’s like to have to leave your family & work on a holiday. So I like to acknowledge that with some treats. I do leave cash tips for housekeeping, just as I do at any hotel. But that’s also a personal decision & many people don’t do that either.

One of the best things you can do for a CM is leave a cast compliment. These go to the CMs manager & the CM is acknowledged from that. I believe these may help with promotions. You can do this thru the app or an email to guest services. I have also gotten a card to fill out at guest services.

Thank you so much for your answer. I appreciate it!

I am easily swayed….
OK let me throw another curve ball at you.

When you get to the WL stop by the front desk and mention that you have 2 reservations. 1 for 1 night and the rest in a CL Resort View room because you could not get all nights in CL due to your flight changing by 1 day.

The CM may be able to check and see if they can put you in a Resort View CL room for your entire stay. It saves them needing to clean a room, and it would save you a move between rooms on your 2nd day at the lodge.

Stranger things have happened at the WL, obviously this assumes that they have a room availability on the 7th floor.
