RUMOR UPDATE: Jellyrolls Still Set to Close Permanently at Disney’s BoardWalk, But You Have More Time

Sources indicate that the popular piano bar Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk will still close permanently in the near future, but the timeline for that closure has shifted.

In our last rumor post on the piano bar, we shared that the venue would reportedly close on or around January 1, 2025, to make way for a new, Disney-operated jazz club.

Now, our sources state that the venue will no longer close on or around January 1. That being said, they also indicate that the venue will still be shuttered and remodeled into a new jazz club. Disney has also reportedly begun casting in earnest for the new establishment and has told those performers they would be looking at a 2026 debut. We have not heard a new timeline or date for its closure yet, but we could speculate that it is sometime in 2025.

This proposed new jazz club would be part of the larger, ongoing overhaul of the BoardWalk. Past updates over the recent years include updating the lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and the opening of BoardWalk Deli, BoardWalk Ice Cream, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Big River Grille and Brewing Works closed its doors earlier this year.

Supposedly, the closure of Jellyrolls was always scheduled to occur after the opening of The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which finally took place this year after a delay from 2023.

The dueling piano bar is currently in its 29th year of operation. Admission is only open to guests ages 21 and up, with a cover charge required. Jellyrolls stands as one of the last original venues along the BoardWalk, as ESPN Club, Spoodles, and Seashore Sweets have all closed and been replaced.

As with any rumor, this information is purely speculative. Neither Disney nor the third-party company that operates Jellyrolls have confirmed any reports of the venue’s closure at this time.
UPDATE - IT’S OFFICIAL:

We are arriving at BWV in 6 days.

1. Can I order groceries to be delivered at BWV if I am at the park? I know Bell services can keep the food until I request, what about perishables like dairy products?

2. Is the Green door market closed as of now? So nothing is available at Boardwalk now for quick groceries as we speak?

3. If I want the grocery delivery services of the day I arrive (therefore before I get an assigned room with number), is that ok? Or is it better to wait until I get the room number and then place the order for delivery?

Thanks

Speaking just to the grocery delivery, when we were there in September, I scheduled our grocery delivery for about noon - when we arrived from the airport but a few hours before we were actually able to get into our room/assigned a room number. Bell services held them for us until we checked in and were able to take them to our room. They did keep our perishables cold, and it was such an easy process!

Not sure if it’s currently open but I think it’s called the Screen Door … only have heard of the green door from way back and it certainly wasn’t Disney 😀

Not a make or break for us for staying here. Of course there will be nothing there when we go in October! That end of the Boardwalk will seem a little lifeless...

That end of the Boardwalk is very sad these days. Plenty of activity on the other end, but it's like a ghost town down there, except when there is noise coming from Jelly Rolls.

So sad about this news. Jellyrolls is always a must do for me and one of the main reasons I go to Disney so much. And stay in the Boardwalk area for a quick walk home! I am hoping the Jazz club has some of the talent from Jellyrolls, Scotty and Michael are amazing.

Interior Refurbishment Under Way at Screen Door on Disney's BoardWalk

The eastern half of Screen Door General Store is currently behind walls as the shop interior is being refurbished. The entry doors closest to the BoardWalk resort lobby are currently blocked-off, with signage directing guests to other entry points.

This space is normally home to a variety of grocery items including refrigerated and frozen goods. It also hosts the display case with a variety of baked goods and sweets. Some temporary accommodations have been made, including an interim cooler with a small selection of beverages. Upon request, Cast Members may be able to locate select items stored off-stage.

According to employees, this is just the first half of a project which will encompass the entire shop. When the section currently walled-off is complete, the western side of Screen Door will be similarly refurbished. The work is believed to be a general refresh of the space with no massive changes planned. No specific timeline for completion is known.
