Hi all,

I am going to the World first time this year, staying at the Coronado Springs Dec 15-20.

I know that one of the Disney resort benefits is delivery of your purchases from certain shops straight to your hotel, so you don't have to carry things around all day.

I can't find much info online about this - what are the restrictions on this service? Can I send any package at all, even if it's small and not very expensive? Do I have to pay to get stuff sent?

Most of all, I want to know what types of shops provide this service. For example, if I go to Epcot and want to use lots of snack credits (I'm on the deluxe dining plan) to buy a big box of pastries from a bakery, can I get the boxed food sent back to my resort, or is this service restricted to non-edible gifts and souvenirs?

I guess this all depends on how exactly the stuff is getting back to the hotel- who is transporting it?

:surfweb: details! :headache:

The service is very easy to use. At any shop after your purchase just let the CM know that you would like your purchase sent back to your resort. It does not matter how small the purchase is. They will provide you a form to fill out asking for guest name, resort, room number, check out date... that sort of thing. Simply fill out the form and return it to the CM. They will attach it to your purchase and it will arrive at the gift shop at your resort some time before the end of the next day. You can not use this service if you are checking out the next day. I am pretty sure the service is limited to non-perishable items only.

the service is free no matter what you send and how many times you use it, if you send stuff back 3 or more hours prior to park closing then it should be at your resort by noon the next day, otherwise it may take two days, you collect packages usually at the gift shop in your resort. when you go to pick up the package you will be asked to sign to say you have claimed it and you may or may not need to show the green slip they give you as a receipt. we choose not to use this service when we have two days left on our trip to ensure we get everything

I was pretty disappointed with the service when I tried to make a purchase during my trip in August. We were staying at the YC and I was making a purchase in the GF gift shop. This was a Sunday and we were departing on Tuesday. The CM indicated that there would not be enough time for the package to be delivered. In fact, I was told that it can take UP TO 5 DAYS!!!! for a package to reach your resort when you make a purchase in a resort gift shop other than your own. This is because all packages go from the gift shop/store to a central location and are then distributed to the various resorts from there. It's not how it used to be. We always got our packages the next day.

Now, I'm not sure if this also applies to purchases made in the parks because I wasn't doing a lot of shopping while in Disney. It really struck me as odd and I was really taken aback by it.

Needless to say, I did not buy anything until my last day at Disney and that was done at my own resort gift shop.

Alcholic beverages ( like bottles of wine ) are restricted. You can have them sent to the front of the park and pick them up there so you don't have to walk around all day with them.

I've never shipped more than a candy bar or pretzels back so I'm not sure about other perishable items.

It is different in the parks. If your purchase is more than 3 hours before park closing, you can have it delivered to your resort for pickup the next day. If it's the day before checkout, or for some reason you don't want it delivered to your resort, you (and any guest, even those staying off-site) can have your purchase delivered to the front of the park for you to pick up when you leave that day, even at park closing.

I don't have time to go look for the information because I have to run to work now....but I am pretty sure that you can also just have your purchases sent to the FRONT GATES (customer relations?) and pick it up there at the end of the day and take it to your room yourself.
