While this is to be a DVC Resort, I thought the news would be interesting to some, so cross posting.

New DVC Property Revealed: Disney Lakeshore Lodge

It’s finally happening—Disney has officially announced a brand new Disney Vacation Club property coming to Walt Disney World: Disney Lakeshore Lodge! This is the same project that was previously known as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, and after years of speculation and active construction now underway, we’ve got some concrete details to share with you.

This news was first reported by Scott Gustinover on X.

A New Vision for a Long-Awaited Resort

The story of Disney Lakeshore Lodge has been a winding one. Originally announced as Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge back in 2019, construction for the resort was well underway before it was halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of us wondered if the project was canceled for good, but it seems Disney had other plans. They’ve reimagined the concept, and construction is back on!

We’re assuming much of what was originally planned for the resort is still the case today, so as you read on, keep in mind we’re making some assumptions here, with more official details coming soon from Disney Vacation Club.

The new Disney Lakeshore Lodge is set to be a stunning addition to the Disney Vacation Club portfolio, with 900 rooms planned, combining both standard hotel rooms and DVC accommodations. The site’s location on the shores of Bay Lake is ideal—right where the old Disney’s River Country once sat, and just a short distance from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. It’s a beautiful setting, perfect for this nature-inspired lodge that aims to blend the charm of Disney’s storytelling with the tranquility of the great outdoors.

Themed Magic and Familiar Faces

We’re assuming some of the general concept remains the same as originally planned, and what makes this new DVC property even more exciting are the themes Disney has in mind. Each room will feature beloved Disney characters, and the list includes favorites like Bambi, Brother Bear, The Fox and the Hound, and Pocahontas. The immersive touches promise to capture the spirit of exploration, nature, and friendship that these films embody, giving guests a unique stay filled with Disney magic.

There’s even more to look forward to with a previously planned lakeside restaurant inspired by The Princess and the Frog! Imagine dining by the tranquil waters of Bay Lake, with delicious food and nods to Tiana, Naveen, and Louis—it’s going to be a fantastic place to unwind.

I recently took the bus from WL to FW (on my way to the MK) which went via the back road. From the bus you could see the extent of the construction site and some of the steelwork is vertical.

This could be a nice one to get a contract on. Probably have boat service to MK?!

Buy CFW, I am sure it will be the same association. That is why the current dues are so high. They will drop once this opens.

The dues would be a deal breaker for me. I'd want to want and see what the dues end up being.

I'm at least glad they dropped the 'Reflections' from the name. I always thought that sounded kinda lame.

It is what it is. I can't see them changing much from the previously approved plan so I doubt there will be more 'Wilderness' theming. It'll have the same pseudo-midcentury look as before. Any changes will probably be 'taking away' from the original concept rather than 'adding to'.

I don't doubt will have boat service to the MK. Probably another stop for the boat that goes to Ft Wilderness.

The sightline from the new resort should be good to see the high fireworks from the MK. Basically you will be looking between the Contemporary and BLT if my geography is correct.

I think this is highly likely.

Look how the addition of Poly Tower just lowered that association’s dues. Adding high point per night rooms/categories help lower dues. The smaller footprint does too.

Adding Lakeside Lodge to CFW makes perfect sense. Then the cabins will have more amenities and lower dues. DVC doesnt seem overly concerned with CFW sales, likely because they know it will become very attractive once the whole project comes together.

Another generic high rise to intrude on sight lines…

It will stick out like a sore thumb on the lake just the way the new Poly tower does.

It looks to be 6 or 7 stories. Pretty much the same height as Wilderness Lodge. Also will be on the natural lake not the artificial one so no sightlines from Magic Kingdom just like you cannot really see WL from MK either.

It is planned to be 10 stories high and opens in 2027. @vakamalua was referencing that it will stick out on the lake as a massive hotel just like the A-Frame at the Contemporary.

As this is pretty close to wilderness lodge, do you think you will hear alot of construction noise ? Iam staying at boulder ridge in April and a bit worried or is it far enough away.

I doubt it. I ate lunch at Geyser Point last week and heard no noise at all from the construction site. I know work was going on because I took the MK bus that went right by the site after I was done eating.
