Our DD was accepted to the CP, she is studying 3D animation and her dream is to work at Pixar. We are wondering if anyone can share a story about someone who did the CP and it led to a career oppurtunity with the company in animation or similar?
Thank you!

Go to library , bookstores, find books about history of Walt Disney Animators,
And Pixar …next search for new attractions, new movies, new broadway plays , new cartoons, new anything & everything to be on top of this Just in case she happens to be working a new attraction … she won’t be uncertain because she has prepared for this moment, look for somebody in a suit with Disney name tag and start a conversation about hometown Something or anything Always have a smile on your face and eye contact when greeting…
I know this sounds obvious but not easy skills that are automatic.
Ya just never know. At the end of your internship , management might offer you entrance into management program if they are impressed with you. Don’t.tempted to party since it is your first time away from “ home “
Always be on time , prove you are reliable .
It’s your first entry to to a possible future that you want and believe in for yourself.
Maybe there will be an imagineer giving a lecture or a book signing in area bookstores…
Also EPIC is opening Hey they have creatives too!
Currently universalorlando.com has a Podcast Series ( in upper right hand corner of homepage) They have many live videos broadcast in their parks including conversations with these project designers and artists !
Very very interesting.
I know Disney also has a lot to start your studies now today
Don’t be discouraged if you think your assigned first “ job” does not fit your dream immediately. A college internship with Disney on your resume will be a big advantage .
I’ll continue to watch for ideas. & report back
Good luck

Yes. Like the PP suggested though, the person I know invested her time and networked. She worked the awful jobs they gave her. In the off hours, signed up for the workshops and used those as opportunities to meet people. She worked her assigned shifts and then some. She joined committees. She then applied for a professional internship in creative. They reviewed her CP performance, attendance, etc. Took that low paying job and lived on beans and rice across the country. The internship ended and she went back home and took a local creative job while maintaining the relationships from both prior positions. One day she got a call and was asked if she was ready to move again. Took off and works in creative today. It took 4 years of networking. For what it is worth, she did say it is one of her least favorite places to work. The care for people skills is lacking. She is currently focused on leaving.

For someone else I know that went at the same time with the same education, they are still working in the parks. Hired on after CP. Partied. Constantly gave up shifts. Didn’t network. Complains today they are stuck in a dead-end job.

I suggest she follow the podcast that UniversalOrlando has created with so much EPIC news broadcast interviews from their creative team.
It would be inspiring for any creative mind to listen.
