OF course, if implemented, it would make home resort reservation walking nearly a necessity for much of the year. as the home window would be narrower.

I do not ever seem them shortening the home resort window for all owners to give priority for non owners

As I said, if they want to use their own points, to give to high point owners, but definitely can’t take any normal inventory from any home resort owner.

That has to be the same for all owners at that resort.

Basically, they can reserve rooms like the rest of us with points they own, and then what they do with them is up to them.

Currently yes. Same with housekeeping being included. Not sure if those could be removed or not - Certainly not something I want - I like that they are currently included.

I would think those fall under operation of the resort and thus can’t be removed…

Now, they could offer additional housekeeping to those with more points as that could be paid for via DVD.

For Worldmark, even regular cleaning at the end of your stay and wi-fi are separated out (and added in as perks at different levels) so I'm hope you're right that it's written into DVD and that it just stays as part of our membership. But yes having the ability to have additional cleanings could be a nice perk.

I voted yes!! Think there should be tiered system based on points directly bought through Disney. I own both resale and direct and I would imagine if there was a big enough incentive to level up, I would buy more points directly through Disney. Again, not sure what benefits that would even be. Just my 2cents.

I think it's safe to say that people who have a lot of points are going to vote yes to this, the majority don't which is why less people voted yes, Disney will not include resale points in any benefits system and Disney is going to do what benefits them 🤣🤣

Despite my hopes and dreams, there is probably 0% chance a tier system would be implemented whereby it costs DVD anything. If it ever happens, it’s more likely to be such that owners have the right to pay for the enhancement thanks to their direct ownership tier.

We are entitled to the same benefits as resort guests so I think that is why WiFi wouldn’t be removed.

For property management, we pay Disney to manage the property and our dues do cover that and basic cleaning. That agreement has the specifics.

I know other timeshares do things differently but I don know how the contracts are written in compared to DVC and that is what really matters to whether DVC can do the same things others can do.

A phone line that works faster is nice I must admit. Can I just say that as much as the DVC website and Disney IT in general gets a bad reputation, it's nothing compared to the sh*tshow that is Worldmark. Well and of course there's no comparison for value of points / crazed sales people. For reference if someone is staying on your credits who isn't an owner, there's a fee if you run out of guest certificates.

I'm honestly surprised that they haven't done this before. Nothing gets an add-on quite like an incentive to another tier. It wouldn't even have to be as drastic as suggested above. Maybe something like free MMB for those that own 500 or more direct points.

Just one more way to become a regular timeshare scumbag.
I always thought as DVC to be above that.

But they have been proving me wrong.

The Membership Extras program certainly does, and MMB is at worst a discount on a package of additional perks that someone is paying for. For example, someone gave me a $140 discount on my '25 one-time points. You can be sure that shows up on a spreadsheet somewhere.

In reality there are tiered benefits now, except there's only 2 tiers.
You either have <150 direct points, or > 150 direct points.

I think if they were to introduce tiers at 250, 350, 500, etc, it would definitely prompt a lot of people to buy more direct points, in the same way people are at least somewhat motivated to buy 150 direct now.

Since we pay for the MMB (albeit only $100) I guess some part of the cost to DVD is offset. I have doubts that DVD would give owners some other thing without making us pay for some part of it. Still, I think they could offer an enhancement to the 7 month window at no cost to anyone and I would settle for more waitlists! A boy can dream.

I voted 'all the same' but it is kind of self-serving as our points are so low that we'd be at the bottom of the barrel. Kind of like the DCL tier system - LOL

The other developers that have tiered benefits do have a few that cost Real Money. DVC has been willing to follow others' playbooks so far.
