Don't give them any ideas.I see I'm in the short side of this poll, at least so far. I'm actually very surprised this hasn't already been done and a long time ago at that. It's genius from a marketing perspective and it costs them virtually nothing once implemented. "If I could just make that next tier, then I could have xyz." Seems like a no-brainer to me. They side-saddled it with the non-direct v. direct barriers and pretended no one was actually riding. It's actually pretty foolish they have done this already if you look at it through clear glasses.
With Fl timeshare laws - could DVC offer something like enhanced OTU points usage based on tiers? Maybe when you can use them tiered - top tier at 8 months - rest at 7? I think it actually wouldn’t matter a whole bunch since large owners wouldn’t (at least theoretically) need them as often but it would give at least the illusion of booking benefits…just wondering.I didn't vote because some of your priority ideas may run counter to the way the contract is written. You can't give priority access to home resort owners....all must be given the same rules for booking....FL law supports that and why resale vs. direct owners have to have the same rules when it comes to home resort.
For trading in BVTC? I don't know if that can happen either. I think they could implement a fee, and then have those with priority benefits have the fee covered via DVD (like they are doing now with the $95 trade fee).
Outside of that, when you are talking about benefits, I am indifferent to how they run them.....so, give them to some, tier them, or give to all....whatever it is, I'll work with it!
The reason I don’t think DVC would do a system like this is because it would bring more visibility to the commercial renting issues. I could see the point tier system conversation bringing that up every time. A system that was built and sold around ‘personal use’ now has a program that encourages and rewards commercial use, even though it is expressly prohibited in the contract? Probably not worth it to them to give more reasons for owners to question that sort of stuff.

This would be a reason for someone to justify not buying direct, it's already hard to justify the high cost with the benefits they offer now, but if they make the benefits not as good for the average buyer, I don't think that benefits Disney.
I can only speak for myself, but there werent enough benefits for me to think Direct was worth it to start off with and not seek resale.
If i thought i had even less chances to get into events than now, because its hard to get into Moonlight magic to begin with, i would be even less inclined to purchase direct. Majority of people that buy are probably not DVC whales, i think they want to appeal to everyday families.
Is that true even for non-home resorts?I didn't vote because some of your priority ideas may run counter to the way the contract is written. I'm just the opposite. I have a hard time justifying resale. This would be a reason for someone to justify not buying direct, it's already hard to justify the high cost with the benefits they offer now, but if they make the benefits not as good for the average buyer, I don't think that benefits Disney to appeal more to a smaller majority. For me it would come across as greedy of them and a cash grab.

A lot of people will justify 50% off resale. But I also know a lot of people want access to all resorts too.I'm just the opposite. I have a hard time justifying resale.
I just really like being able to use all my points at all resorts.
