Cats or dogs?

I am a cat person ( we have 2) but like other people’s dogs.

I like both, but I prefer having a cat. It suits my lifestyle better. I think I am more of a "cat person" but I do love all animals really.

Both! We currently have one cat and two dogs. One of our dogs does think he's a cat, however. He says he only weighs 7 pounds, and he lays on the back of the couch like a cat. In reality, he's a 62-pound Golden Retriever.

I agree, about the work, don't know about the obligation. We have 7 cats-2 indoor, 5 that technically are just strays, but they have no other home, we've had them all neutered, and DH feeds them.

I meant "obligation" in the sense that dogs have schedules that you have to adjust your life to. You don't have to be home at 5pm to let the cats out.

Had both. Don't expect to have any the rest of my life if my health still allows me to travel. Every time I left a pet.....dog or cat.... with a pet sitter or at the pet resort, I just felt like they felt I had abandoned them even if you tell them you will be back.
If I do get another pet, it will be a cat, more self contained. And just one cat. We had two cats at the same twice, never really worked out. First pair got along about 90 percent of the time, but fights in the middle of the night were common. Second pair, after my mother in law passed, we were forced to bring her 16 year old female cat into our house, with OUR 16 year female cat. Fortunately our house is U shaped, MIL's cat basically stayed in one half of the U, and ours in the other half. They only crossed paths to eat and use the litter box, and if both were there at the same time, it got ugly. And with two cats, you have to be a detective when someone barfs or has a problem in the litter box, to figure out which one needs to go to the vet.

For our current lifestyle, cats make more sense. I would absolutely love a dog (had a yorkie growing up) but we know it wouldn’t be fair to have a dog.

However, don’t get me wrong, our cat is adored and doted on. The three of us jostle to be the winner of his affection. Yes, he 100% knows it too!

I have never owned a cat and probably never would, yet my husband enjoys calling me a crazy cat lady. The funny thing is that cats are often drawn to me. Whenever I'm out working in the yard, the neighbor's cat always pays me a visit if she's out. Whenever I'm out for a walk, random cats will approach me on the trails and walk with me for a bit. It's so bizarre!

Meanwhile, I have this bundle of fur waiting for me at home every day. This right here is part of a stare off where she's daring me to come try and take her toy.

I love big dogs! It’s more to love!! I feel like big dogs don’t get enough attention, my bullmastiff would be so sad when strangers walked by and didn’t pet her. I go out of my way to pet big dogs. My DH has bought be a collection of big dog Tshirts. My current favorite is I like big mutts and I can not lie.
