I'm staying at BWI this weekend just to try Cake Bake. We don't have a reservation yet. Anyone who's still hesitant please cancel your ADR. Anytime between 12/13 to 12/16 would be greatly appreciated.
I have to search by time and it looks maybe 1-2 hours around it.Am I looking at OpenTable incorrectly? It shows wide open for 12/13 and 12/14 for a party of 2.
Thanks, I will look. I'm not familiar with Open Table.Am I looking at OpenTable incorrectly? It shows wide open for 12/13 and 12/14 for a party of 2.
I'm sure you're correct as it's Disney but look very closely and see if there's a hidden "skip' on that page. I've seen a sneaky way out many times in restaurants here in the Midwest. It absolutely drives me nuts when they've done nothing for a tip except hand you something. I now try to make a point of having CASH in my wallet (which I honestly hate) but it's a good way to avoid their pre-arranged "should be illegal" decision on tip %. I'm all for tipping if it's deserved but definitely not when it's 'required for nothing'.Yes the “suggested” tip amounts pop up when you slide/tap your credit card and the screen doesn’t proceed until you choose a tip amount…there is a place to select no tip.
Just had lunch there today and the table next to me had tried to check in for their reservation with the Disney app but it hadn’t connected with the restaurant, sounded like they had some issue with being seated. The server said she reported it to the manager. I enjoyed my choose 2 of the chicken salad croissant sandwich and the blackberry avocado salad.Got a reservation through the old fashion way of calling the restaurant directly.
It's unfortunate for Cake Bake that the Disney app still shows no availability.

Didn’t see any way to skip so I did just tap on “no tip”….I always tip for service pretty much any service but seriously there was no “service” provided. I guess the only way to avoid this situation is to pay cash.I'm sure you're correct as it's Disney but look very closely and see if there's a hidden "skip' on that page. Thanks for the warning on dropping the pick 2 for dinner.Didn’t see any way to skip so I did just tap on “no tip”….I always tip for service pretty much any service but seriously there was no “service” provided. I guess the only way to avoid this situation is to pay cash.
Just for others following along MDE and even the Disney web interface for MDE only have a subset of the Cake Bake Shop (CBS) reservations.Got a reservation through the old fashion way of calling the restaurant directly.

I think the issue that @Lsdolphin was referencing was that there was no clear way to continue / bypass the fixed tip amounts on the Touch terminal. I have seen this at other establishments. It is fine for table service but tipping a cashier is absurd unless they are actually adding value to the transaction.Doesn't make it a good impression on the customer, but the logic makes it easier for me to ignore when it pops up in weird places.
Is that a button the customer can push? Why would a cashier suppress the tip screen?I will use my BurgerFi example again: there is a red button on the scan terminal that needs to be pressed before using the Touch ID or using your Chip card. Then the Touch screen does not even prompt for a tip.
If that is true, then I agree that it is absurd. I would much rather do away with tips all together and have their wages built into the food cost like other countries. It's gotten out of hand the past 10-15 years. No tips, no fees, no taxes at the end, just let me know what my cost is up front for the love of sanity.I think the issue that @Lsdolphin was referencing was that there was no clear way to continue / bypass the fixed tip amounts on the Touch terminal. There is normally a magic button that the cashier needs to press to skip the tip step. We all just need to be bold and simply as why I need to tip when you did not and any personal service but handle the transaction. I know that in the last year is just ask how to Skip this stupid tip prompt.
