Cafe Orleans and Fantasmic

My mom suggested that we try and get a PS at Cafe Orleans to coincide with Fantasmic. I know at WDW, we have eaten at the Rose & Crown to watch Illuminations, because you are directly at the water's edge. However, Cafe Orleans is set back quite a bit from the Rivers of America and I don't think that we would get a good view from the patio.

I know we're not guaranteed a patio table, but I wanted to throw the idea out to the DIS and see if anyone has done this, or if anyone has an opinion about whether it would work.

Thanks!

I don't think the view would be that great. people would be walking around, standing in front, etc. i think it might be tough.

No you wouldn't be able to see much. Riverbelle terrace used to have ok viewing, but I haven't been since it re-openned.

We sat at Riverbelle Terrace last month ~ this was the 2nd showing, the restaurant was closed (I think) it was an OK view ~ very crowded though and we were tired.

I don't think you would be able to see very much. We were just at Fantasmic on Friday with the preferred viewing and there were TONS of people standing behind and walking around. You might be able to see a bit of it, but I think you would miss most of it.

The plus of getting seats (whether you pay for them or stake out your spot early on) is that you can see the Wishes fireworks - which is great! I think there is a bit you can't see (by the castle), but I think that if you are at the castle, you also can't see what's going on at the Rivers of America - and there is a lot going on.

It was really worthwhile - but I've never seen so many people at one place in my life!

I kind of doubt Cafe Orleans would even be open at 9:00, but I could be wrong.
We saw F! from a table at Riverbelle Terrace alst weekend, and the view was fine for us, since we've seen it so many times. But if it is your first time seeing the show, I'd suggest getting a closer spot.

Thank you to all you replied! This is exactly what I thought. I am traveling with 2 little ones (7 & 5) who have never been before. I don't mind staking out a prime spot waaaaay in advance, but I wanted to check and make sure before I made my PS for Cafe Orleans that day. Thanks again!!
