Best Non-Park Restaurant

I am planning a trip in January and I am looking for a dinner plan for our last night. We are going to AK that day, and would like to find a TS restaurant for that night. I was currently thinking about Boma, but wanted other options. My DS13 is definitely not an adventurous eater, but I am, which is why I thought Boma was a good option. We are on the dining plan, so only looking for a TS restraunt that is one credit. What are your favorite non-park restaurants?

IMHO, Boma is really busy and chaotic. I stayed at AKL last month and just walking down the stairs in that area was a crowded nightmare. If that doesn't bother you, go for it. I prefer Sanaa, but if you need something less adventurous, consider Ale & Compass at YC - nice atmosphere, good food.

Another vote for Boma - one of our favorites. While I agree the check-in area at Boma can get busy at times, the word nightmare certainly never comes to mind! And once you're in the restaurant, you might have to wait for a few people in front to work through the buffet, but it's worth it! And with pickier eaters, they can choose what they want and don't want. And who knows, maybe they'll even try something that's a little different at the buffet - and like it! A very close second, I also agree with Sanaa - another of our favorites. And picky eaters still might enjoy the bread service they offer - so good! But we actually prefer Sanaa for lunch, where we can dine and enjoy seeing the animals outside the restaurant.

So many choices…

So in no particular order:Sanaa, Sebastian’s, Flying Fish, Disney Springs has an assortment of good restaurants; pick one🙂.
Have fun no matter where you go.

I agree with preferring Sanaa over Boma for the reasons stated-also Olivia's, Grand Floridian Cafe, and if you're willing to spend a little more, Jiko.

Our favorites outside the parks are Boma, Steakhouse 71, or topolinos. Boma for something very different. Steakhouse 71 for good steak. Topolinos if you want to spend more.

Our new 2 favorite non park restaurants are Jiko & Topolino's.

Both have a great atmosphere, great service and excellent menus.

We like the pre-dinner lounges, the bar at Topolino's and Victoria Falls Lounge upstairs from Jiko.

Ale and Compass and Trattoria Al Forno are decent Disney standard restaurants around the Boardwalk area without killing your budget

Not even up for debate. BOMA! Especially since you’ll be at AK that day. Right around the corner.

Will you have a car? Where are you staying? Are you willing to use ride share or taxi?

I'd skip any restaurant which requires a bus to DS and then a bus from DS to my resort at the end of my meal.

We dined at Boma and 1900 Park Fare on our trip a few months ago and felt they were both good uses on one dining credit. Whispering Canyon would also be a nice choice. We really like Sebastians and Olivia's, but we'd pay out of pocket for those instead of using a credit.

Sounds like either you never visit DS or retain a car when visiting WDW.
Wrong on both counts. I asked if the OP will have a car.

Many guests don't retain a car. Some won't use ride share.

Last night. Park day. Dinner. I'm not looking to shop or hang out at DS. My answer might be different if I was younger and Pleasure Island was still open

Can’t say about age but we live in an urban area where it’s a liability to own a car thus I’m always interested in the reasoning of the rest of the population.
Wrong or right didn’t enter the equation. Oh and am clueless about Pleasure Island but do hear others speak of it as well as Downtown Disney.

Some posters won't use ride share or taxis. Issue is $ or perceived safety issues.

JMO transportation back to OPs resort is relevant to restaurant suggestions.

Even when we have a car we always take Disney buses. We have absolutely no problem and enjoy riding buses to parks, if necessary, transferring to other resorts.

The only exception we have is we will NOT take a bus if DS is in the mix. For some reason DS and buses have never mixed well for us.

If we are going to DS we're taking a rideshare there and back.
