I have two girls ages 3 & 5. This will be there first time they will both be old enough to do the BBB, and I'm so excited for them

I've been reading reviews trying to decide between the two locations but what I can't help but notice is the hairstyles seem so tight. They both are extremely sensitive to having their hair up too tight. Heck, I get a headache after having my hair up too tight for too long. Last year I actually sat next to a poor little girl at BOG crying about her how tight her hair was and she wanted to take it out. That poor mother just payed for that expensive hair-do and was taking it out shortly after

Has anyone ever asked them to do the hair "looser"? Would this be a reasonable request?

I know they can't modify anything with the hairstyles - just not sure if this would count as a modification? You could always ask, but I'd go in thinking they'll say no.

I'm not really sure how well having it done a bit more loosely would work out. It may not stay. Just as an aside - I've got a couple of tender heads and they did fine with the hairstyles. We tend to do it in the afternoon though. I think the bun is probably the "tightest" style. Maybe they could pick a different one?

We haven't done BBB yet, but from everything I've heard in researching it (and we're going to do it soon, so I've researched a lot), the hair appears tighter than it looks. I've heard from multiple moms that their daughters have very sensitive heads and the hairstyle didn't bother it at all. And when you think about it, most little girls are sensitive to pulling and don't want to be uncomfortable, so Disney knows this when they're doing the training. These hairstyles are meant to last for - literally - days. So basically, appearances can be deceiving. But I would still mention it to your fairy godmother in training, so she can take it into account.

It is not that tight at all!

The reason it looks so tight is because there is 1/2lb of gel on the hair

I thought I would be one of the moms that would be forced to take it out shortly after - but no! My super sensitive 5 year old not only had it in all day - but slept in it and went back out the next day with her hair up! She was mad when I made her take it out the 2nd day.

Every child is different but I don't think this hairstyle would've lasted at BBB if they got a ton of complaints about it...

My DD is one of those that throws a fit every day when I brush her hair so I was dreading BBB last year. She was 3 but did awesome. She sat still the whole time and didn't fuss at all. She had the bun style and her fairy godmother asked her if it felt okay when she put it up, before she created the bun, to make sure it wasn't too tight. My DD wouldn't even take it out that night, she slept in it, and insisted on keeping it up the whole next day. I call it the BBB walk of shame lol, it looked a mess but she loved it and didn't care.

I asked for them to make my daughter's hairstyle looser, and they had no problem with this :) Just needed a few more bobby pins and hairspray than usual but it still lasted all day!

DD has done BBB several times and she has a sensitive head. When she was 4, she did the Princess bun and she was begging for it to come out after 2 hours. She said it really hurt and was giving her a headache. She made it through lunch at CRT and she was done with it. We tried to get her to keep it in a little longer, but that soon turned into tears saying it really hurt. That has been a few years ago, but I can't imagine that I didn't ask for them to make sure it was not too tight as I know how sensitive DD can be. BBB was a really great experience at that age, even if the hairstyle had to be taken down. On the bright side, I thought with as much gel as they put in it, it might not come down, but it came down very easy and her hair surprisingly brushed out nicely and looked fairly presentable. She also had a tightness issue with the courtyard hairstyle, even though I know I asked to be sure they were not too tight when it was being done. She left that one in, but she was definitely complaining it hurt by the end of the day and never wanted to have that one done again. The one BBB style she has absolutely no problem with is the diva style. It is not my favorite (although I'm not crazy about any of the BBB hairstyles), but that one she has had twice and says it does not hurt or bother her at all. She does not complain about that one at all. She is still not one of those girls to sleep in it and leave it for the next day-- she wants everything washed out at the end of the night before bed, but for her sensitive head, that one was definitely the best. As far as the locations, I would say castle all the way. They have the excitement of being in the castle and they are in MK where they can go get pictures with Princesses when they are all fixed up. For us, it was always part of the MK experience. I would not have spent the time or money on it at DTD.

My DD did not do it the first time till she was 8, and sat fine( and is not the type to speak up if it is uncomfortable unless it is done by me!), but did mention it was a little tight. She did however leave it up for the next two days because she loved it. I think it has to be fairly tight to make it look correct and stay in. We have never done the ballerina bun, which looks the tightest, but not sure. We did Diva, and then the Color Star What I would be concerned about with little ones would be the time to sit pretty still. It does take about an hr., and I saw some younger ones getting squirmy and cranky/teary while fairy god others tried to work their magic - just something to consider. I would do the castle location, just seems more magical, and if you want to plan a meal for after at the castle or 1900 PF, you are close by.

DD is a tender head at home (screams every brushing). BBB does not really pull it tight...they just PLASTER it with a 1/2 gallon of gel and even more spray!
Any pain or discomfort might come from a chemical reaction! :crazy2::crazy::eek::scared1:
