Have you linked the reservation to MDE? If you go to disneyworld.com and login you can click on my plans and you should see it if linked.

These are two different booking categories you can't just request one vs the other.

Click on "Show Details" and it will show which one you have.

With a 7 year old I think the dedicated room is probably best if your grand children are anything like DS who likes to explore. This way there is only one exit from your room in the living room to the hallway as opposed to them just walking out their bedroom like they could with a lock-off.

When we were there two weeks ago they seemed to be working primarily on all rooms from the ground floor up to say level 5 on the side nearest to the contemporary. Best just to ask the front desk when you arrive if you can get a refurb room. We did that and didn't have any issues getting a refurb studio.

Same. I like the incorporation of Mary Blair and Magic Kingdom into the studio. Some nice pops of color but still has a contemporary feel. The separate kitchenette area is nice for us. My wife likes to get up early turn the lights on and thump around in the kitchen. Keeps the sleeping area insulated from that.

I think the studio is just so well done! I love the wall art including the vintage photos. I’m pretty excited to book my trip next January. Going to do a studio/ 1 bdrm (3,4) split stay. Points are fun!

The BLT studio looks nice. My comment on it is the same with all the refurbs - removal of the small table and chairs replacing with a bench seat is not an improvement. I also do not agree with the TV being placed opposite the bed vs opposite the couch. Overall the old layout had better function IMO except for the sofa bed couch. The murphy beds will always be an improvement over those.

Nice, looks good. They have a very VDH, or DLH feel, I guess that makes sense though.

As a new ish BLT owner (bought a year ago, haven't stayed there yet) I am so happy I took a gamble on liking the refurb. I really love the photos I have seen. VDH is my favorite interior design, and this has so many elements of those rooms.

I’m buying more Bay Lake. My 50 point use year contract(s!) finally showed up for sale.

See ya later, Animal Kingdom Lodge contract (shockingly listed and sold already)! lol. I am so excited to pare down to just two resorts and have one be BLT. For people traveling just once to twice a year, three resorts is too many to deal with (in my opinion).

lol. Yes, my other is BCV. And BCV is our very favorite. But I am capping my points there at 100 (enough for 6-7 days in a studio).

Having just these two locations at these point amounts may make it easier to bank and borrow and get two bedrooms (family of four + grandparent) where we want at 7 or 11 months when we like to travel (January/early February), at BCV, BLT, or beyond! Or some years we may just do a studio or 1 bed as just a family of four and bank points for a bigger vacation the next year.

We split stayed this last time…and I think it just isn’t for us. I like to be at one “home” the whole time.

Also while I adored AKV and would go back with my spouse alone, my kids didn’t adore it quite as much as me. They are Beach Club for life (or until 2042…lol). And so am I; as soon as I get in the lobby I relax there.

Seeing five giraffes outside the Kidani lobby when we were leaving was AMAZING. Thankfully AKV is pretty easy to book for Savannah, which is the only view I want.
