As a direct member does this bother you or the more the merrier?

Any bit of shade & cool air for any guest is a welcomed option from May-Sept at WDW. For some (& service animals) it's becoming a necessity.
I'm a DVC owner but not technically a "member" & haven't renewed APs for several years.
But I'm glad more guests will have this option during WDW summer days. :earsgirl:
I wish they would extend thru September 🌞🥵

I think anything they do for AP's is a plus, and I'd think that even if I wasn't one. I cannot imagine why anyone would be offended by this as it takes absolutely nothing away from any other group - including direct DVC members (of which I am one).
I saw a negative comment on one of the FB groups I'm in so I was wondering what Disboarders thought 😅 there always has to be someone negative online I guess

AGREE! A LOT! Even tho Sept has lowest points for DVC, we no longer plan to visit then.
IMO, WDW needs more seating under shade, not less. And overhead misting in lines.
Saw a few guests lying on pavement in bits of shade last Sept.
Heat exhaustion is a real thing.
Stay cool, folks!

The pictures are beautiful! It doesn't bother me at all who gets to use it. The more people who are tucked into a lounge, the less people in my way. 🤣🤣
Incidentally, I did think I'd use the lounge at Disneyland much more than I do. I went once when it first opened and my points were brand new. I haven't been back to it since. 🤷

That clean cool quiet bathroom though. I may walk over there just for that if they'd let me in more than once a day.

To the OP. What do you mean by "more" in "The more the merrier"? More people? More lounges?

And what is the relationship between Direct Members and Annual pass holders. I am both and I don't get it? Why the reference of Direct Members in your title?

You almost had me. I was starting to regret my decision not to activate an annual pass voucher this year. 😂
But, our next visit is not until July 14th - so we would miss it anyway.

Beautiful photos.

Starting May 14, Annual Passholders will be able to
enjoy an Annual Passholder Lounge as part of
V.I.Passholder Days!

This year, the lounge will be opening in the Morocco
Pavilion, inside Restaurant Marrakesh. It will be
open daily from 11am to 7pm, and you might even see
characters while you're there!

V.l.Passholder Days will also bring perks like additional
discounts to Passholders, a new Passholder magnet
Passholder-exclusive snacks, and special photo ops!

The lounge will be open from May 14-July 13, so it's
time to start making plans to get to EPCOT!
No not at all. I love when Disney does things for their most loyal fans. Also, I believe it’s through July 31st. We’re contemplating a trip at the end of July but not sure we’d take advantage anyway. We hadn’t in previous years.

The more lounges people have access to.

There is no relationship to the two.

One Direct member perk is lounge access so I was wondering if it bothered people that are direct members because I saw on a fb group that im in that a direct member was complaining about saying that only dvc members should have lounges with free food and drinks and discounts and characters, which I didn't agree with, but I'm not a direct member so I was just asking if any other direct members felt like this, I was not saying this myself.

Is it nicer than Dvc lounge?!

More the merrier…

I feel the same. I drug my family into the EPCOT lounge on our first DVC trip. We got a drink, stared at each other for a few minutes, then left. We haven't felt the need to go back. It was a nice break for a few minutes from the heat, but I'd rather be at Spice Road Table for a break eating falafel. IMO anything that absorbs people off the walkways is a good thing, so I'm happy for those that want these lounges.

I agree. The DVC lounges are nothing to write home about. If we need a quick break in the air and there is no wait we will go in. Otherwise, on with our day. We don’t perceive this as a perk at all. We also have AP’s and I don’t see the value there either.

Omg yes the misting is a great idea! They have that in Magic Mountain in SoCal and it's such a relief on a hot day, I've never been to Florida in September, I'm a little worried, I guess i better get used to it 🤣🤣 but I'm one of those people that is always cold and didn't mind the heat when I went to India in May one year so I think I'll do just fine, my family maybe not so much 🤣🤣

I've never been to that restaurant so I am intrigued as well, love how I see a drink that has a nod to the Morrocan culture in the pics
