A few more questions re. LLMP/LLSP and magic bands

Good morning. Back again with more questions…

What happens if someone in your party does not want to ride a LLSP attraction and the others do? For example, Guardians is a no for me because of the backwards launch. Major motion sickness trigger. My husband and son want to ride it. If we end up purchasing LLSP for them, are we still able to book additional LLMP or LLSP for all three of us once they scan into the attraction?

We’re planning to use our magic bands from our last trip. According to MDE, they’re still active. Are our tickets automatically linked or do I need to physically link them, and if so, how?

We’re still in the planning stages for our return trip after a five year hiatus (more like 20 in Disney time) and I may be overthinking all of this, but I just want to be as prepared as possible so we can hopefully relax once we’re there.

Thank you for your help!

LLSP operates differently than LLMP. You can purchase a maximum of 2 LLSP rides per day/per person. Guardians is a LLSP attraction, so there is nothing to worry about if only 2 of your party wants to ride.

Your old MBs should work fine, BUT they may have issues picking up the picture readers if they're more than a year or two old. If your pictures don't show up, you'll just need to submit a request to have them added to your MDE profile.

@ProudSoccerMom just a couple of comments to add to the great comments @hes122

Since the members of your travel group that will use your LLSP attractions are selected at purchase time, you only include the individuals that will actually want a LLSP for each attraction.

Also you have the option to change your LLSP selection and specific attraction after you purchase if your plans for a day change. You can't change the makeup of your group after LLSPs are purchases. You will only need to pay for a modification if your change would cost more than the origional price.

Your old MBs will work. If you have the older orignal MB or the MB 2, they contain battery that is not rechargable as the newer MB+ are rechargeable. As @hes122 commented, attraction photos will not automitically be available for purchcase or on PhotoPass based on your MB losing charge.

The newer attractions don't have a touchpoint at the end of the attraction. Many of the regular attractions have a scan code where you are able to scan using your smartphone.

If you have any issues, as @hes122 commented, you can have Disney search for your photos.

Thank you so much! I didn’t realize there could be an issue with the picture readers. Is there an alternative you’d suggest?

Thank you so much, Dave! I’ll pose the same question to you that I just asked. Is there a better alternative than our old MB’s?

Personally no. Just use your existing MBs and have a smartphone handy that has MDE active (does not need to be open, just started) if you allow MDE work in the background (it's the default), and Bluetooth enabled. This combination should get you 95-100% or more of your ride pics.

I personally despise the MB+, it needs to be charged to use the bonus features (lights, long range RF scanners for photos)

Does that make sense?

Yes! And I wouldn’t like having to charge the bands, either. Lol. Thank you, Dave.

I'll echo this and reiterate that several rides (Guardians & Space Mountain come to mind off the top of my head) have signs posted in the queue that have QR codes to make sure your pictures upload to your MDE.
