Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

did you happen to ask at Guest Services or a mousekeeper? I'm guessing most hairdryers come with diffusers so I wonder if possibly they have a stock for people who request them?

I am constantly amazed at what Disney does carry/offer when I ask. I use a CPAP machine and it's nice to know distilled water is available in the food court even though most times I take my own.

Also, my daughter is extremely sensitive to many detergents so I normally travel with either our own sheets or a special sheet made into a sleeping bag kind of thing that she can sleep in. One time I forgot to bring both and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I can request hypoallergenic sheets and towels for our room! SO much easier!

This hypoallergenic request is awesome! When did you make the request? At check in?

I call it in early but I will say it’s not consistently picked up by housekeeping. More than once nobody has been able to confirm if the sheets were the right ones so housekeeping has sent someone with fresh, hypoallergenic sheets to remake the beds. I feel terrible when this happens but I can’t risk it. My daughter has been hospitalized more than once with head to toe hives before we determined what was causing the problem.

Bottom line, while you can call and add this request early, it may be easier to just request them when you arrive if it is a ‘mandatory’ need for your family.

We have significant asthma and allergy conditions so this is very helpful information. Thank you.

So cool to see the skyliner going! We are staying at POP in July. I'd love for it to be running, but I'm not holding my breath. Still, it's really neat to see the pics.

Yup @scrappinginontario is correct, you can request an 'allergy cleaning' of the room. We've done this twice - once worked out perfectly and the other time they said it wasn't noted on the reservation :/ They said they could still do it, but it would take 3 hours, so we ended up not doing it. Our kiddos have severe food allergies and I would've felt more comfortable if it had been done. I will request it again for our next trip :)

Skyliner testing has started on the Pop/AoA to CBR line!!!

Good to know! I am fully planning on taking it to go see SWGE at night. It will take only 7 minutes to get there, according to one calculation, not counting waiting and transferring. At night, the waiting and transferring should be minimal except for park closing. I am imagining myself floating over to DHS right now.

When we stayed in AoA a couple years ago, we did the touring plans fax request, requesting a room between a certain room number range. We did get assign a room in that range, on the specific floor. It was surprising. Non of the other room requests we have made, touring plans or through WDW directly, have been close when getting our room. I guess we hit that one magic moment, not expecting a request to be met like that again...

Hello! Just joined the Forum after lurking for ages. My 6 yo daughter and I are staying at POP in 26 days and appreciate all the tips you guys are posting! What time do you get the bus for HS to make it there by opening? (9am the day we are going). There aren't any FP for Slinky Dog Dash so we're going to try to book it there as fast as possible in the morning (will that even make a difference?). Thanks everyone! :duck::thanks::mickeyjum

:welcome:

For a 9:00 open I would be at the bus stop by 8:00. Hope you have a Magical trip!

Rope drop is the best way to ride SDD without a FP. You should try to be at the park by 8:00 at the latest if you want to be near the front of the pack for RD - I've heard a 9am opening has been more like 8:45 since TSL opened. To get there that early, you should be on a bus by 7:30 - they usually start running around 6:30. Have fun!

Is there an EMH offering your DHS day? That will make a difference. If not, I'd anticipate being at the park by 7:30 at the latest if you hope to be towards the front of the crowd.

What I find easier (if it's an option for you) is to get into line within the last 15 minutes or so that the park is open and riding SDD then. It's a great ride at night and the line moves very quickly once closing hits as there are no longer and FP guests arriving. If you want to watch the fireworks or go to Fantasmic this won't be an option though so it will depend on your choices for the evening.

This post would be an EXCELLENT read and also help you know what to expect.

Thank you for such quick responses! We did SDMT in MK during EMH last year and it worked out well-unfortunately no EMH at HS the day we’re going. I’ll probably go the rope drop route, thanks for the heads up it’s usually 8:45 now! We’ll leave POP super early to be in front.

Unless you were going to purchase EMM it's a better thing that it's not an option the day you go. The post I linked above gives you a great minute by minute picture of RD last month.

Do you mean purchase EMM? Or have they started charging for EMH?

I will concur with those already posting above. I would be at the bus stop at 7:30 am. Plan on some fun games you and your daughter could play while in line waiting for rope drop. I have always enjoyed talking with people waiting in line with me.....soon you will be fast friends! They tend to let you in a tad early at DHS too so being there at least an hour before opening should work in your favor.

Has anyone ever requested....and gotten a specific room? Our upcoming trip will be our 9th at Pop. The room we had last year was our favorite location and would be kinda cool to go back to it. How would we even request such a thing?
So I did the TP request for a specific room. Then through online check-in, I requested 2 of the same features (high floor, lake view). We didn't get the same room I requested, but they did a good job of finding a comparable room. It was on the top floor, end of the building, near the lake. I was very impressed that the room seemed to match the requests I made, even though it wasn't the exact room.
