**September 2019**

Good morning! Very excited :lovestrucas we just booked GF Main Bldg. CL 9/15-9/21! Also, I noticed that Halloween Party tickets are now for sale on the WDW site!
We've never gone in September as I'm sensitive to high heat and humidity and we're nervous about hurricane season, but I just couldn't turn down a great discount and the chance to go to Disney before the SWGE mania hits! Does anyone have experience going in September- is the heat tolerable, and are the crowds really as low as everyone says? Thanks so much in advance!
:thanks:

We go every September. We were there during Irma and it was our best trip! Crowds are very low! It is hot. Extremely hot. Stay hydrated, take a pool break. However, we have never done mid-afternoon breaks. We always rope drop and leave around 5 for dinner. It’s always worked for us. This year, we are staying at CR so we can walk back to the room/pool if we need a break and since my kids love staying up late, I’m sure we will be out later and finally get to see some fireworks!

Well now I need to decide if I wanna go back to my original plan of attending MNSSHP or not. There is one on my birthday which is our first MK day of the trip so we can either start at MK and hop somewhere else or buy tickets to the party and just leave the whole day as a MK day.

For everyone planning on doing MNSSHP, when do you plan on purchasing your tickets? We did the Christmas party on our last trip and I did purchase the tickets way in advance. I'm a bit more hesitant with the weather in September. Thanks!

I'm not sure when we will buy ours if we decide to do it. I'd like to because we never have though.

I'm so excited about MNSSHP :) We arrive on 8/26 and leave on 9/3 so will most likely shoot for party tickets on 8/27. I was originally going to try and plan an ADR that day but we can shuffle things around and stick to a light QS lunch. It's our first time using a dining plan, so much to think about!

This would be our first MNSSHP also. I think it is worth doing at least once. I was very happy with our Christmas party experience!

Last time we went with the kids, we had DDP. All but one of our TS meals were character meals. They were great for the kids at 8 & 5, but they took so much time. At H&V, my son was ready to go long before all the characters had come around. This time, we are not upgrading to DDP, so any TS meals will be OOP. Which is fine, but I'm not sure we will do any this time. If we do, it will likely be only 1-2. I know my kids are going to want to do T-REX at DS on our arrival day, and I may have to veto. It's not that I don't want them to enjoy themselves, but if we do the same things every time, we don't leave room for new things! I'm really hoping to get to eat at some places they've never been, and try some new-to-everyone things. I guess we'll see... we still haven't told the kids yet... I'm sure my DD7 will begin laying out her plans the minute she finds out.

I totally get that. I have a hard time compromising between hitting favorites we don't get to visit often and trying new things.

Last year we went to the 8/31 and 9/7. We bought the tickets the day before for each party. After we saw the weather forecast.

Thanks for the input! That is exactly what I'm thinking we will do. I think I will take my chances with a sold out party.

So with the dates released for MNSSHP, I feel a little better about starting to plan out my days. What apps/tools do you all use to plan your days? Do you have a favorite crowd calendar?

Also anyone know when the park hours for September will be released?

I use TouringPlans and I have had good luck with them. I did hear that people are unhappy with their recent predictions but when we went in November I thought they were spot on. I will say that we did not have any luck with our room requests through them. Not even close but i was still very happy with everything else.

I'm not sure when the park hours will be released.

Anyone looking forward to trying something new? Returning to a must do? Favorite character meals?

We are really excited to try the new character dining at WL, and Minnie's Seasonal Dining. Both will be new to us. Also looking forward to O'hana as well now that the noodle debacle is over.

MNSSHP is another reason we are really excited for this trip. But the party days aren't cooperating with my early planning stages. I'll have to wait till we decide on flights to finalize the party day.

We went on our first trip to Disney just last month and I used Kenny the Pirate's calendar. I only have 1 trip to go by but I trust his predictions over Touring Plans based on reviews of both (I subscribe to both, for different reasons) and am using his info to plan our trip in September. I like reading comments on his FB page too, the people are full of info and don't argue or one-up each other like on other Disney FB pages...

I like Touring Plans reservation finder and their Lines app. It was better than MDE when it came to FP availability and real wait times.

Kenny's calendars are free to use, and he puts them out 6 1/2 months in advance, so his September will be out by mid-February. We're going late Sept into the first week of October so I have a little longer to wait but I am starting to make my plans based on his 2018 calendars. I know Disney can change whatever they want whenever they want, but looking at 2018 hours may help you plan for 2019.

Off subject, but I'm hoping they release Early Morning Magic dates for both TSL and Fantasyland sooner than later. We did both last month and am trying to convince my husband they're worth our time and money to do again.

What's the new character dining at WL? It's hard to catch up on all the new stuff when Galaxy's Edge is so in your face, lol.

So what souvenirs are people hoping to get on their trips??

I want to get the Orlando "You are here" Starbucks mug. I have all the current park designs.
Pin from MNSSHP.
Ear hat with my name embroidered on it. Yes, I'm 47 years old...so what?? LOL.
Sweatshirt and t-shirt.
We always get an ornament with the year on it. Usually from the Christmas shop in MK.
The last 2 trips we got a little stone animal in AK. I want another one. They're cheap, too, like $6.
Any mini plush Tsum Tsums I can find. Sure weren't able to find many last year, but maybe there will be something.

What else do I "need"?

I will be getting my usual:

pins - LE and AP ones specifically for F&W and MNSSHP if I decide to go to it this year
calendar
ornament
something for the kitchen
t-shirt
this last Sept I bought one of the little stone animals in AK and it's sitting on my desk at work lonely so I will be purchasing another to keep her company, lol

I'm trying to limit myself on souvenirs this trip, lol
