New Epcot Resort coming soon?

Might've been a little harsh on my end. Has Disney ever had any instances of guests being harmed due to construction work? I just feel like they would do whatever they could to actively prevent any accidents. I'm sure it'd be fine, but it just doesn't add up for me.
If they were to go with the front of the park I would have to think they would have an accessible safe entrance to the park. They would have to.

Any idea if any of these WDWNT rumors are ever accurate? My gut instinct is that they're not.

This has been an ongoing rumor outside of WDWNT. They also do get things right a decent amount of the time. Disney has filed permits in the past regarding work near the front of the park.

Any word on if this is going to be a DVC property or a "regular" hotel?

This was my first thought - though I think that since it is an independent entity it will at minimum be a split property. At least partially cash and partially DVC. A DVC "wing" if you will.

I think this would be a mistake and take up too much space, but if it is real (which I hope its not) id bet DVC so disney can double cash in (cash and points) ;-)

Just out of curiosity, when was the last time that Disney built a resort that wasn't an expansion of a existing resort or in an area where previous resort development existed?

I think they actually get a lot of what they report right, they just over-inflate what it means. Like, in this case, I am sure they are correct that more permits were filed for, but a) is that truly "OMG BREAKING NEWS!!!!" and b) this in now way qualifies as it being "CONFIRMED" there is a hotel coming.

Riviera isn't an expansion of an existing resort but is connected to CBR. Otherwise I would think AKL.

And (unless this changed) the Wave (which at least at one point offered Bottomless Mimosas) and Chef Mickeys - guess the Contemporary is the place to be for Brunch

Places in Disney Springs have it too (Raglan Road, Paddelfish, Maria & Enzo's, etc.)
Narcoossees used to I think but got rid of it.

gotta be animal kingdom lodge

The way the question was worded, I assume you are not counting Art of Animation, correct? If so, then Animal Kingdom Lodge is the correct answer

Yeah, I wasn't counting Art of Animation since that resort was "just" a completion of the never finished second half of Pop...

I find this, and the Star Wars hotel, to be very interesting and exciting because new hotel development in a completely new area is such a rare thing. If AKL is the answer, as of now its been right at 17 years since they expanded the resort hotel footprint to a new area.

Riviera is it's own thing I know, but since it is being built on CBR property, and some of CBR was demolished to make way for it, it isn't really adding a new resort area.
