Disney Gift Card Deals

I don't think my store carries many Disney GCs so I decided to order online and found that the 10% was not being applied. Before I finished checkout I called the 800 number and after much conferring with his manager the agent (or whatever they are called) told me that the Disney cards were not eligible for the 10% discount. I stated that the exclusion info in small print did not specifically mention the Disney cards as ineligible. He went back and checked with his supervisor again; came back and told me that Target would apply the 10% for my 3 $100 cards in the form of a $30 discount separately. The agent was actually very nice and friendly. And I have the emails already for the order and the refund so it looks good! Yeah!

Wait, you were buying Disney GCs online today and wondering why the 10% wasn't coming off? You caught a break if so with the customer service override, since the 10% off deal was only supposed to be for Target GCs, not any GCs...

You got some pixie dust today. The 10% off only applied to the Target GC, not the specialty gift cards like Disney. What everyone here is doing is buy the Target GC for the 10% discount and then go back to Target and use those discounted Target GC's to buy the Disney GC's.

Although I guess we all could have tried finding an inexperienced or very eager to please target.com rep and cut out a step :) (But I still don't think I'd recommend it :p)

I saw in an article linked to here that you couldn't use the 10% off Target GCs until 10am CST tomorrow. I just checked my receipt, and it just said they weren't valid until 12/4/18 - no time was given. I'd love to do my Disney GC Target run first thing tomorrow. Has anyone else seen a specific time mentioned by Target?

We were pretty busy all day so I finally got down to our nearest target. The plan was to go to electronics, buy one and then go through checkout and buy another and then hit another store for more.

The guy in electronics just rang them all up one by one for me. Meanwhile Amex fraud called and texted asking if I was making the purchase. I texted back '1' for yes and they said proceed. Easy peasy!

It's 10am Central. I got the message on my online email purchase.

The guy who helped me in electronics scanned the card to see if it activated - his idea - and it said something about tomorrow - I couldn't see to read the whole screen. Our Target opens at 8. Do some Targets open later?

Your store likely also sells $100 Disney GCs if you can find them - most Targets do.

I’ve had mixed success purchasing from cashiers. Self-checkout is easiest, but some cashiers are no problem.

I’ve purchased before, but never to this quantity. I bought $1800 in Target gcs today. I want to go in tomorrow morning and start getting Disney gift cards. What is the max I can do at the self check per transaction?

Thanks.

Yikes! That’s a year from tomorrow!

We went late this afternoon to one of our two local targets... no problem doing 10 transactions in a row... $3000.00 in target GCs for $2700.00

I'll turn them into Disney GCs in the next week or two. They will go to pay DVC dues once the new bill it posted later in December.

This is a great way to save 10% on something that we normally can't get a discount on at all.

So for the Best Buy $10 offer, does anyone know if there is a code or anything to enter to get it? I have something more than $10 to buy with store pick-up, but when I go to checkout I don't see anything that tells me if I qualified for the $10 savings code or not.

Last year several times they had a buy 2 ($50 Disney gift cards) get $5 bonus card. Anyone have information on what that occurred last year?

Yep! I guess ignorance sometimes pays off!

I didn't want to deal with the middle step if I could avoid it...and since my local store rarely has Disney cards it seemed worth a try.

Target really needs to train their employees better.

With all the new holiday employees, part time, etc, it's tricky I'm sure. I spent some time doing corporate training and I will tell you, for trainees, it's like drinking from a fire hose. There's just so much information coming at them. Even when my students had ample time to study, the brightest ones didn't always digest 100% of the information. There's always a learning curve. And my corporate training was in high tech. These were educated, well-paid, specialized employees with a lot of pre-existing knowledge in many of the things they were being trained on. It's just hard to learn new stuff. I'm sure with all the holiday stuff they're frazzled and potentially working long hours.

I think you are mistaken. I believe that was 2 years ago. If I recall correctly it ran 2 weeks in early Dec (though Disney was not actually supposed to be part of it the one week but the ad didn’t specify only select cards were included so many stores honored it on Disney cards). That year the 10% off gift cards happened later in Dec (the Sunday right before Christmas). That was after the buy 2 get $5 target gift card promo was over.

Bought 5 today and only had to go to 2 stores!
1- 1st store. had issues with one of my gift cards going through and didn’t want to draw attention
2 and 3- back to back at self checkout. Lady watching was eyeing me so I left and looped back into the entrance
4- checked out with a cashier
5- walked to the next cashier towards the exit. My credit card was denied so I used a different one to avoid drawing attention.

I’ll turn them into Disney cards tomorrow for our trip in January. How many cards do people buy at a time usually?

The buy 2 get $5 was 2 years ago. We watched for it last year but I don't think it materialized.
