DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Pictures or it didn't happen.

Looooots of pictures.

I was still playing tennis. Not supposed to access your cell phone during match play. It's actually a rule.

Since when does anyone around "here" actually work?

Trying to raid that retirement fund a bit early...
Tell them that if they let you move to Fla. now, then you'll be able to get in-state discounts on cruses and trips and such...

I'm sure most of us have moments when we actually work, but it certainly isn't that physically exhausting work. I made that comment the other day to my oldest dd as we were talking future careers. I worked 15-20 hours a week at UPS, which did have some downtime, but a physical workout for 2 hours each night, and was provided with health insurance. Now, I sit on my butt all day at a desk job which gives me far worse insurance and I have to pay to join a gym to workout.

And that retirement fund won't be lasting long with those type of plans.

I've looked for one of those for ages...still haven't found a CEO job.

I read the average CEO now makes 300 times the salary of the average paid worker in the company. You mean they don't work 300 times as hard? There are lots of meetings to go to.

As I mentioned in another thread, when people are laid off, it's typically(usually[most always]) the mis-managment from high levels. I know it will never happen, but the CEO should have their salary cut if layoffs are needed vs. screwing the hard working folks. Sorry, sore subject right now I guess.

Scary...did the math...if the average salary is 30K, then the CEO is making 9M.

Haven't seen any of them.
Kay (DD16) and a couple friends went to see the latest one last night.
They got there, went to a human being for tickets, then went to go in the theatre where the usher asked them for I.D.

Whoops!

Needless to say, she hasn't seen it yet.

The standard practice when I was a kid was to buy a ticket for a PG-13 film, hand that to the usher, and then walk to the theater where the movie we wanted to see was playing. Er, so I've heard.

Funny story tonight. Playing doubles with the guys on one court. On the next court, there are two women taking a lesson with the pro. Neither are very good, but one is in her late 20s, athletic in great shape, tight shorts, tight plunging v neck shirt, gold chain, tan, and makeup or eye lash extensions. Did I mention her shirt was tight? She sure did run down every ball with all of her efforts. Now, the funny part. One of the guys is standing at the net, and the other guy throws the ball softly towards him, which slowly rolls right in front of him as he is drooling/ staring at the court next to us. We all just bust out laughing. He looks and goes, what? :lmao:

HEY!!!

Oh, right.

Happy Friday Eve! Nephew, his bride and their first baby came into town last night to be part of FIL 85th birthday celebration this week / weekend. Other than that same old stuff going on - have a good one.

Speaking of WDW, DW and the dds keep asking about cruises and other locations for vacation. We just spent a week at Destin. What is wrong with them?
Be careful with that cruise talk - once ya go its addictive.................
We'll toss out the additional howdys when we see him on field after the game.
This will almost certainly be his last performance as a member of the POTM.
I suspect that there's going to be a lot of mixed feelings about this one.
Enjoy the moment and celebrate - I know how much you are into music and such. Also congrats to DS on the accomplishment.

Rude, schmood. #priorities!

Old school.

Afternoon all.

Meetings are done, made it to the airport and now I'm enjoying the Maple Leaf Lounge thanks to a colleague from BC. If you have to wait a few hours in an airport you may as well do it in a spot that gives you free food and drink.

Hope everyone is well.

:rotfl2:Tennis wives. Gotta love 'em.

Do you have to wear the Jersey?
What is wrong with them?
They are trying to outnumber you mate. Stay strong.
I think “good for you for trying “!
::yes::

See how it cuts over the thigh son?

Evening boys from a frosty London.

Sorry, didn't intend to bring up a bad memory. In my case, it's not a CEO, but a governor. When UPS had issues with their defined benefit plan, they kicked all the managers out of the retirement system, and left it for the workers. Saved the system. Our legislatures, ie managers, wouldn't even consider that one.

::yes:: The good days.

Happy birthday to FIL. Don't need to worry about the cruise - I'm the last holdout.

See how it cuts over the thigh son?

Ah, Christmas Vacation quotes start early.

Want me to drive you out to the middle of nowhere, leave you for dead?

Morning chaps from a glorious London.

Darcy trust you are back safe and sound and nice score on the lounge - Rob, enjoy your trip mate and best to the young’un and Mike happy birthday to the FIL. Norm, I’ve just joined your tennis club. See you in 9 hrs mate. My balls are packed.

Happy Friday gents. My last day as an employee today. They want me to come back as a contractor part time since they need me and my knowledge, but don't want to pay me what I'm worth. I love bean counters.
Still have mixed emotions about it, but really glad it's Friday!!! I might be calling it early today, but probably not as early (for us on this side of the pond) as Dan.

Hope it goes ok mate. We can all sit here and say "tell em to shove it where the sun don't shine" but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck fella.
I'll call it in a couple of hours.

Must be a very strange feeling.
Perhaps not as strange as it could be considering you're returning, albeit in a new way.

And what the bojangles has happened to my ticker?
Mine too. Seen others with the same affliction.

Morning Gents,

Back in the office for the day and then we start a long weekend. Remembrance Day is a stat holiday here so we are office Monday. Weather is crappy but it is mid November and it always seems to be rainy and cold on Remembrance Day.

Hope all you guys with the bad tickers get it sorted out.

That would be a strange feeling. Will you be going back as a contractor?

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one in the Mizners bar for Docs leaving drinks has to take Mary Poppins home. And let me tell ya, if she gives you a spoonful of sugar, it's goin' down. And she has an amazing tongue twister.

Have a great weekend gents and GO IRISH!

If I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am now.
Where's the tylenol?
She falls down a well, her eyes go cross. She gets kicked by a mule. They go back. I don't know
