Spectacular Star Wars September Exercise Challenge

Congrats to the team for Han Solo Purple!!! :woohoo:
And to everyone on all their individual minutes!!! :rainbow:

David Prowse thought he would be doing the voice as well as the presence of Vader, but George Lucas didn't like the sound of his accent and hired James Earl Jones (after considering Orson Welles). Since they weren't using his voice, for Empire and Return of the Jedi Prowse started saying whatever he felt like, instead of the written script. But the voice-overs helped keep the secret of Luke's parentage. Lucas had Prowse say "Obi-Wan killed your father" instead of the actual line, "No, I am your father," so most of the people on set had no idea of the real story.

Love all your trivia!!! @sophy1996

64 minutes run/walk on Monday, nothing yesterday.

Still very sick here so no more minutes to add. Hoping the antibiotics I got after seeing a doctor today will start working very soon!

I'm so sorry @Dentam, and I hope the antibiotics work and help you feel better soon.

All I wanted to do tonight was sit on my butt, but I took one for the team :). 20 minutes of ab/thigh exercises right into 25 minutes of yoga.

Awesome @LizardQueen8 !

No exercise to report here - between the high holidays and my knee bothering me, I haven't really done much. I'm hoping to get a little exercise in tomorrow and hopefully I'll make it to the doctor within the next few days to see if she can figure out what's wrong with my knee.

Ugh, I hope you can get to the doctor and she can help you recover.

On 9/15 I went on a 60 minute walk/jog and 10 minutes of arms and 3 minutes of jumping rope. Rope jumping wasn't as hard when I was a child

Lol, I tried jumping rope as an adult ONCE. I'm just glad there were no cameras around. Same with hula-hooping...

No new minutes for me - I shifted my training back a day because I have a RACE on Friday! I should have some to report tonight though.

This team sure is making hosting fun! I don't think a day has gone by that there hasn't been at least one :rainbow:, and today is no exception!

Congratulations and a big round of applause to

2TxAgs for turning Han Solo Purple

chbc and scdak for turning Darth Vader Red :darth:

and

2manypets, our first Jedi Master Yoda WISH Green Participant:yoda:

Jedi Master Yoda is a bit of a mystery; his species and home planet have never been revealed.

His appearance was created by makeup artist Stuart Freeborn, purportedly based largely on Freeborn himself with a bit of Albert Einstein's eyes for wisdom. True? Decide for yourself by checking out the picture at this link.

Yoda's voice is provided by Frank Oz, who also voiced Miss Piggy and Fozzie the Bear. George Lucas was so impressed by Oz's work that he campaigned to have Oz nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, but the Academy deemed a puppeteer ineligible.

----

My avatar right now is Yoda visiting Disney -- Mickey ears, Mickey bar, eyeing a sign that says "Warning! You must be this tall to ride this ride." The sign also indicates that you cannot bring on lightsabers, droids, or blasters.:D

Forgot why I thought running a 5K was a good idea in the first place :crazy2:.

I think it's some type of masochism.
That or the bling :)

Yay! Congrats, @2manypets !

Reporting in with 15 minutes of (allegedly) low-impact kickboxing

I'm hoping I can run tomorrow morning (running is pretty much the only time my knee doesn't hurt), but whether or not I can ... at least I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow. I'm hoping that she can either figure out what's wrong with my knee or refer me to an orthopedic or sports doc. Hopefully I'll get some answers soon and can be back to my normal level of activity by the end of the month.

Forced myself to the gym to do a run. Forgot my knee brace. Forgot my sweaty band. Forgot why I thought running a 5K was a good idea in the first place :crazy2:. Did 45 minutes on the bike and 30 minutes of walking at 15 minutes per mile instead.

I agree with @SarahDisney - it's the swag.

45 minutes total of cardio, back&chest, and arms&shoulder workouts brings my total to 380/900. Getting back to working out wasn't hard, getting my diet back on track is proving to be harder but I'm sure I can do it.

You can do it!

35 minutes running last night. I am much faster on night runs than I am on morning runs. Beat my normal pace by 20-25 seconds/mile. Guess I should sign up for more night runs!

I'm nowhere near my goal, and I think this month is gonna be a wash. I did about 10 minutes of exercise, putting me at 290/1000. I just haven't had time. And I'm super paranoid about wrecking a new tattoo.

But to everyone else, keep going!! I'm going to try to get back on track soon, but I won't be making 700 minutes in 13 days.

I'm nowhere near my goal but keep plugging away and I'll keep plugging away too!!
I did a 40 min walk with the baby in her stroller and the husband pushing it. Had to take advantage of the nice weather. My goal is to run tomorrow and than a race on Sunday.

I think I'm starting to loose momentum. Yesterday it was almost a chore to get my walking in.

Today I'm going to strive to do several bursts of 15 minutes at a time at work. It's my 27th wedding anniversary today, so most likely I won't worry about any exercise after work.

Yesterday 47 minutes brisk walking.

We all have those days. Special days like Anniversaries don't come around often, so enjoying and celebrating them is important. You will get back into your stride soon I am sure. You already hit your goal which is awesome! Maybe you could push yourself to see by what percentage you can beat it, and set yourself up for a harder challenge so you have some new motivation?

I did next to nothing exercise wise yesterday. My fitbit barely got to 2000 steps. I was volunteering at my kids school and was seated most of the time. Busy afternoon left no time for exercise.

Now, I have to thank you guys. I only got three hours of sleep last night, and have nothing much to do today, at least until late this afternoon. I seriously considered blowing off the run and strength training workouts on my training plan. The couch and Netflix seemed like a great way to recover from my exhaustion. Thought of several excuses, obviously I was poorly rested, everyone else in my house has a nasty cold, so I don't won't to overwork my immune system and worsen my chances of getting it, etc. But, then I thought of coming on here and saying I had done nothing for two days. And so I committed to going out and starting my run, telling myself if I couldn't handle it I would just walk the distance to something. But the running actually energized me, and I came home and did the whole strength workout too. So thank you, the motivation of belonging to this group is absolutely what got me out the door today!

So, 30 minute run, 20 minute walk (warm-up/cooldown), and 40 minutes strength training = 90 minutes. Gets me to 1135/1200. I only have a 60 minute workout planned for tomorrow, but I will totally be adding 5 of something to get me to my goal:)

Edited for poor spelling and grammar choices;) I blame exhaustion!
