Wine and Martini "DIS Group" Tastings - When ? / How ?

I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful WW (wine wife ) escort on PCC 1.0 to a wine tasting that was predominately DISers.

How is that happening for 2.0 ? Do we book a wine or martini tasting seperately and then by magic it is linked together to form a DIS group?

I also seem to recall that Tracy may have mentioned that we would not have special DIS tasting events for 2.0. Maybe I'm dreaming.

Either way, this is a call for ASK Tracy!

You ask and I come running! Last time a DISer set these up with my assistance. They were not DIS/Dreams sanctioned tastings. That would be the case again this time. I can be a go between for you, but I cannot be involved with setting everything us with all the DISers. One of you has to be in charge. Given the limited amount of time you had on PCC 1.0, you want to make sure you want to set this up.

I will gladly let someone else have the experience of coordinating this event this time around. I'm still sticking with the Fish Extender project though.

Also, there are other types of tasting opportunities available. Beer and tequila come to mind....

I had so much fun at the Martini tasting last year - with my tablemate Todd and the editorial comments of Nicole.

I'd love to do a beer tasting!

I guess another possible thing to do would be to look for existing tasting (i.e., the beer one) and all sign up for the same one - once we get onboard(?) This might work for the smaller, less attended ones, but probably wouldn't work for a wine tasting. Those are probably pretty popular.

If you're hesitant about the martini one, don't be. I never would have thought I'd like martinis, but learned that there were, indeed, some that I did like (and some that I didn't)!

I agree with you about the beer one Dodie. Not sure I want to do this one as I'm a beer drinker and there isn't much on the ship I haven't had or want. It would be more about the people and we can do that at the bar. Wine and the other offerings are different though. (IMO)

Jennifer and I have been talking about the martini tasting and hope to be able to attend with some friends. I guess with us DISers making up about a third of the ship, the odds are pretty good.

Boy I feel deprived! I was not lucky enough to have signed up in time for any of the tastings on my cruise 7 years ago. Nor did we stop at Castaway Cay due to weather, high seas.

I did manage a Palo dinner and brunch, so I wasn't completely deprived.

But this time I want to make sure I get into at least one tasting. I'd want to try them all.
