Whats the NICEST thing that has happened to you at WDW???

Are there birthday pins at all of the parks or just MK? Will will be visiting WDW next month for my daughter's 13th birthday and she wants to spend the day at MGM Studios. Thanks! :bday:

All 4 parks and Downtown Disney have Birthday Buttons! (Although I believe MK & MGM are the same design)

Try to get them all. The CM at DD told me it's ok if it's CLOSE to your birthday and to be sure to get them all.

My favorite birthday button moment is probably when the CM at BTM stopped the line and made everyone around me sing Happy Birthday before he let people move in line again.

It was also fun when I'd spot another birthday button and we'd wish each other Happy Birthday.

The buttons are a lot of fun -- our best moment was when "PUSH," the talking trashcan in Tomorrowland, chatted with our son (6) and insisted that everyone join him in singing happy birthday. The look on his face was priceless ... not only is this trashcan talking, but it knows that it's my birthday!!! :teeth:

Thanks Tiggerbell! Where do I get the buttons in the different parks?

Magic Kingdom - City Hall (turn left after going under the train station)

EPCOT - Guest Services (go left past Spaceship Earth) & I got one while waiting at the turnstiles from a CM - she saw my MK birthday button and brought me over an EPCOT one

Animal Kingdom - Guest Services, I think - SOMEBODY CLARIFY THIS IF IT'S WRONG - turn left after the turnstiles

MGM - got mine at Guest Services outside and to the left of the turnstiles. ANYBODY - GUEST SERVICES INSIDE THE PARK? I'd go with the odds and say turn left after the turnstiles.

Downtown Disney - Guest Services is a little tiny room tucked away between some shops ANYBODY KNOW THE NAMES OF THOSE SHOPS?

it has taken me 3 days and 3 long nights to read every single post. I am so gald i did, i can really feel the pixie dust!
BUMP!

Ok...I have 2 stories.

1 The first time we took our DS to Disney for his 5 yr B-day when we checked in the CM looked down at my son and said "I see its your birthday while you are here" he looked up at her and said"how did you know" and she said "Mickey told me..he knows everybody's birthday" My DS and I were practically in tears.

2 Last time we were there(2003) on our very first day, our very first ride....I left our brand spanking new Digital Camera on HM. I realized right after we walked away and I ran back to the exit and talked to the CM there. They checked all the DB and found my camera bag but no camera. I was devestated(and glad we only had a couple of pictures on it) later that night we had PS at 1900 Park Fare...it had rained all day and we felt icky and out of place in the beautiful hotel and still very sad about the camera. We sat down and Prince Charming came over to sign my DD(2 1/2) autograph book and then he asked if we were ready to take a picture. With tears in my eyes I explained what had happened that day and he left. About 10 min later he came back to our table with a disposable camera with 36 pics on it for us and said "no one should have to have to do this without a camera." I thought that was the nicest thing and it made our trip. We ended up buying several disposable camera's and we carried them around in our camera bag in a place of honor. :earboy2:

When our DS was only 4 (99 trip) we had gone to MGM for the day but unfortunately missed the Toy Story signing sessions. We decided to leave the park early & on the way out got caught in a downpour so headed for Guest relations to shelter from the storm, when we got inside Buzz & Woody were also sheltering & proceeded to play with DS for about 30 mins. That really made our trip that year & gave us some unforgettable memories!
SD :goodvibes

Getting to open Liberty Tree Tavern. We were taken up on a balcony, got to ring a bell and say hear ye hear ye let freedom ring, had our picture taken and were presented with a certifiacate.

Oh my goodness, so many nice things have happened, but the one that strikes me the most was in November of 2004. We were on our last day at D-MGM, and I was crying as we were leaving (Yes, I am pathetic! :teeth: ) A Cast Member came running up to me and gave me a Disney Dollar with Chicken Little on it. I never caught his name, but to whoever it was, thank you so much!

I've been pleasured to make a few friends over at Tower, and they've done things for me, as well. I've also witnessed them doing things for other people. The whole Tower cast pretty much rocks. ^_^

I've always loved Disney World, and wanted to go back every 3-5 years, but it wasn't until our last trip (November 2005) that I've become ABSOLUTELY ADDICTED. If I could go every 6 months (or less) I would. Here's what happened to make us feel so special.

Our son was celebrating his 7th birthday, and we just happened to mention that it was his birthday in front of one of the staff members. They promptly told us to go to City Hall to get his birthday button and balloon. He was so proud when he came back with my wife (I had stayed with the in-laws and my younger daughter). Now this is the part that is so amazing. I kept a mental note of how often the Magic Kingdom staff members said Happy Birthday to my son, and I think only 1 or 2 didn't mention anything the ENTIRE DAY! He even got extra things in some of the stores and extra service on some of the rides. I don't know if they realize how much this means to people, but it just made our day so special.

Now here's the really cool part. When we were heading down Main Street, the fire marshall noticed his button. He escorted my son over to the barbershop quartet and they sang Happy Birthday to him, even putting two of their hats on his head while they were singing. The fire marshall ended saying "since it's your birthday, you go into any store on Main Street and pick out whatever you want...and your dad will pay for it" :)

I know I'm making this long, but one other thing that happened was when we went to get an autograph from Mickey. Mickey must have heard us call our son Michael, and wrote this in his autograph book (something like it) "To Michael - Happy Birthday! Love Mickey Mouse". We just about flipped.

Anyway, you did it Disney - you've made me an addict for life. Thanks for starting this thread - I feel so strongly about what they do there, and that they truly are furthering Walt's dream.

Someone gave us FP's for Kali on our trip a couple of weeks ago. That has happened to us before, but these came just when we thought we were going to have to skip it b/c of the wait time. DD4 was looking forward to riding and would have had a meltdown if we would have had to skip it. so those FP's were a lifesaver.

Two things happened for us -

1. The four of us (me, DH, DD15, DD5) had breakfast CRT. The CM that waited on us said that we were so pleasant that she only charged us 1 TS each rather than the required 2.

2. We took a cab to MGM studios from the Poly and by the time we arrived the clouds had opened up and it was pouring!! Naturally this was the one day I decided not to carry our ponchos! Of course the walk from the drop off to the entrance is long when you are walking through a monsoon! We had seen wishes the night before (for the first time) and were still feeling all mushy inside and my (DD5) in the back of the cab said aloud "I sure do wish we had umbrellas mommy", the driver hopped out of the cab went to the trunk and came back with two large umbrellas and insisted that we keep them!! Now I know this may not seem like the most amazing thing but we were so greatful and my DD5 kept telling everyone how when you wish it can come true! We abolutely gave him a good tip too!! :)

Years back, my son was four years old and terrified of all the characters and attractions and I was disappointed that he wasn't enjoying Disney more.

We were walking in Epcot and we come upon Santa and Mrs. Claus. My son points and tells us, "I go see Santa!" We were thrilled, to say the least, and got into line to see Santa. The cast member closed the line for Santa at our family and as we watched the last family visit with Santa, we decided we would wait for Santa to return. We chatted with the cast member and told her that my son wouldn't see any of the characters and how excited we were that he actually ASKED to see Santa. The cast member left, and the next thing we knew, the cast member closed the line BEHIND us and my son had a wonderful visit with Santa! They had a wonderful five minute chat and then off he and Mrs. Claus went for their break.

It took us only a very few minutes to pack the stroller after the visit, but as we looked up to head off to our next adventure, out comes Mickey and Minnie from the same door that Santa and Mrs. Claus entered. They paused briefly to look around, and then made a direct beeline over to my son and daughter and spent a good five minutes with them! I was in tears from watching my son finally interacting with a character!

We're pretty sure that Santa and Mrs. Claus chatted with Mickey and Minnie on their way into their break because we were off to the side and would not have been noticed from where they walked out. Mickey and Minnie also approached us cautiously and slowly and once they knew my son would accept them, they smothered him with love!

A wonderful memory for this mom!

There are always tons of magical moments...but the one that I always reminisce about was our "Disneymoon"

So many cm's and people in general went out of their way to make our days there extra special. The best was our own Fairy Godmother. This was during October 1999--she was flitting around the castle and immediately came over to us (we did have the bride/groom ears on and home-made t's celebrating our wedding) and commanded people take pictures of the three of us--we were given a magical moments certificate AND later during the 3 o'clock parade--she came off of her float and had everyone around us clap and yell congratulations :goodvibes I get all warm and fuzzy whenever I think about it...She told everyone around she was our personal FG for the day-gave us a big hug and some more photo ops..then hopped back onto her float to make other families smile. Good times  pixiedust:
