Truffled Mac & Cheese, Sauted Green Beans and Mushrooms

Lets deconstruct this.....
Is that a Red Bell Pepper I spy in those green beans?:scared1:

Can I just say how very much I enjoy your reviews. And that rib eye on the salt block well that is just - well just perfect.

Ssshhh....I was IGNORING and trying to forget that red bell pepper stuff in there!

OK ... DO WE LOOK LIKE WE EAT A LOT OF VEGETABLES? ROFLMAO

Point of Clarification ... the peppers were on MY serving, but not on Mister Disney's! As for mine, the guys in the kitchen probably just threw them on there to make it all look pretty! :artist:

Besides, we were so much more interested in the MEAT and Mickey Mac & Cheese ... not to mention STAINING the tablecloth anymore!

1- Is it dessert time yet? This diet is killing me and your food is the only food I get to savour this week!

2- re: husband school...thought of sending hubby for training but what if he likes it and jumps to the gourmet side permanently. I could not handle a gourmet hubby!! ...I am a burger and fries girl...I just want mickey jewlels on my custom planned burger plate. (You are welcome to lock him in the dungeon though...god knows he lives in the dog house around here anyway!)

:) Sheli

you need to extend your bed time boys, we need more more more!!!!

And I can drive to the airport! Or you can swing by and pick me up, I am on the way to the highway

I am thinking we will have our 25th anniversary dinner here :lovestruc

ALL THREE OF US?!?!? :grouphug:
WOO HOO!

Calling Southwest Now!

I hate those airport screening machines. That POOFING always messes my hair! :scared1:

OK - I would love to go there now. I'm sure the Chef wouldn't mind if we showed up. I hate those Airport machines also, which is why I've been flying out of Westchester more.

OK... what poofing thing? We fly out of Dulles or Regan or Richmond or BWI and I don't remember any poofing thing! But we are flying into Bradley in June and I am curious!

Happy Birthday, Mister Disney!

You two are fabulous, and have me giggling - thanks for sharing! If only I could get my picky eater boyfriend to look beyond basic steak or Italian as dining options when we go to Disney!

Keep the pics coming, I'm dying to see what the last few courses looked like - and of course they are the all-important desserts! Bring on the chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!

Lurker here....waiting for more food porn:surfweb:

I'm just a common folk from Wisconsin and have no CLUE what some of the food is...but my mouth is watering. Just wish the doctor hadn't told me to lay off the the carbs yesterday...and no more sugars for a while....so I'm licking the monitor....

Keep the reviews coming...more desserts pleasepopcorn::

You might want to consider HUSBAND SCHOOL! :rotfl2:

Thank Goodness for Wisconsin. Think about it ... if not for Wisconsin ... there'd be no Mac & Cheese!

You might want to consider HUSBAND SCHOOL! :rotfl2:

Ah but the problem there is that he is not yet a husband. Unless that's another challenge you would like to take on.... with your taste in bright sparkly baubles you could help him pick out a nice big diamond, don't you think? :rotfl:

Exactly my point!! They need schooling *before* they become husbands. It's always better to start early. Like with kids, you know? Baby Einstein for boyfriends...

:rotfl:

So where were we?

Dessert Amuse Bouche
yachtsman032008-018.jpg

paired with Banfi Brachetto d'Acqui, Piedmont 2005  Rosa Regale:banana:

First off....who would have thunk to serve an Amuse Bouche BEFORE dessert?

:faint: :faint:

The Chefs and Mark Hoevenaars would cause they KNOW Kevin's "thing" about dessert.

Pair the "pre-dessert dessert" with Rosa Regale and you've got me Hook, Line and DESSERT.....OH wait...that is another tread.....

Seriously, before I expound on the beautiful "pre-dessert dessert", let me tell you Rosa Regale is by far one of my favorite sparkling dessert style bubbly....
Beautiful color, smooth, not very dry, but not very sweet....drop a slice of orange in it and you got yourself a festive cocktail!

not yet.....2 more courses....OF DESSERTS!

3 if you count the port wine flight!

Ok, this clinches it for me.

You both are HOBBITS. First dessert? Second dessert, third dessert? Egad! :faint:

I am liking the idea of Dining with Mister Disney and K-Man (instead of Dining with an Imagineer). That'd be one heckuva meal.

Oh, and when I saw Banfi as one of the wineries at Party for the Senses, I immediately got some Rosa Regale and conveniently found a chocolately goodness dessert right across from their station. :lovestruc
(The party would have been so much better if I was able to find some sort of foie gras. I haven't found it at PFTS since maybe 2004.)

So back to more of the memorilble evening...

Mark Hoevenaars arrives with ......a PORT Flight:banana: :drinking1:banana:

That man NEVER forgets I LOVE my ports!

yachtsman032008-021.jpg

You might notice that by now....YUN could NEVER cover up all the spills on the table.....

left to right

Les Clos de Paulilles Rimage, Banyuls 2003
This is France's answer to Port, and the absolute best wine to pair with chocolate! (Hint, Hint) it is very strong flavored and very dark in color...

Cockburn 20 year Tawny
A GREAT standard to try all other ports against....20 year means this is a blend of older wines and younger wines, with the average age of the blend to be 20 years. This is a strong wine and goes great with chocolate (Hint, Hint)

Dow's Late Bottled Vintage, 2000
This is made from a single year's harvest (in this case, 2000) and then aged for four years in oak casks. (The term "late bottled vintage" is because Vintage Port is aged for two years and then bottled with the intention of further bottle aging.) The extra aging helps it develop more quickly.
This Port is very spicy...goes great with chocolate also! (Hint, Hint)

Quinta do Crasto Late Bottled Vintage, 2001
a real Portuguese Port....
Another very strong wine, but has a sweet finish....

:dance3: Happy Dance:dance3:

:dance3: buzz dance:dance3:

Ok, when I saw the Port flight, I realized that you have to be Brenda's (oybolshoi) Brother from Another Mother. Seriously, you both have this THING about port. (I must admit that I tried a port flight in Las Vegas because of her raves about port.)

First Dessert Course after Dessert Amuse Bouche
A Tasting of Chocolate
yachtsman032008-024.jpg

Passion Fruit, Banana and Orange

OK....so I guess I fibbed....will be having 7 (SEVEN) desserts to taste AFTER the Dessert Amuse Bouche!

This is the first 3!

First Dessert Course after Dessert Amuse Bouche
A Tasting of Chocolate
yachtsman032008-024.jpg

Passion Fruit, Banana and Orange

OK....so first off?

Would anyone care to guess at what you are looking at?

:ssst: Psst....let me pass on a secret....:listen:

This beauty is going to be on the menu soon for all to try!

The plate was "painted" with a chocolate swatch....understated, mutted elegence!

Passion Fruit ....uhm....strong ....but probably so because I've never been much for passion fruit....The Banana ....smooth....yummy.....orange? Well, Orange and chocolate has got to be my favorite combination (especially is you pair it with a nice glass of Grand Marnier!)

Definitely worth the calories!:rotfl2:
