The facts:

When: October 15-21, 2008

Where: A Salute to All Food at WDW, but Mostly the Food and Wine Festival

Who: Lori, aka BriarRosie. I'll be seeing a few people I know will be there the same time I'm there, including some DIS board peeps (and lurkers!)

For someone taking a solo trip, I will be seeing lots of people I know. Go figure. Here's a rundown of what my plans are...

October 15:
  • Lunch TBA with one of my DIS friends. We're sticking around the Epcot resort area, so I suggested The Fountain quick service at the Dolphin, or Beaches and Cream.
  • Dinner with Oybolshoi, Tink_Rules, and TheDISneyFamily (aka Brenda and the "two Michelles" with a couple of their spouses thrown into the mix) at Todd English's bluezoo™

October 16:
Kitchen Conversations with Robert Irvine.
This is one of the special food and wine events. I'm excited to see this ex-Food Network star and his mighty fine muscles. :flower3: I was on the waiting list for the wine dinner held at Jiko, which is very unlikely at this point. I expect to nosh around World Showcase for dinner.

Edit on 10/10: I got off that wait list! I've got a spot at the Jiko Wine Dinner!

October 17:
Totally unplanned, so I expect even more Festival noshing. :cloud9:

October 18:
Party for the Senses. There will be a strong contingent of DIS people joining the Great Stampede for a table. (Avoiding the Stampede was actually more productive for me last year.)

October 19:
  • French Regional Lunch @ Bistro de Paris. Another food and wine festival event featuring Burgundy wines, something completely new to me.
  • Victoria and Albert's - Main Dining Room for dinner. This is my third visit to the place, the first time being in the main dining room. ;)

October 20:
Dinner at California Grill. It's been a while since I'd eaten there, so I'm looking forward to it.

So that's what the main foodie parts of my trip will be. I'll be getting Larded and Loaded all over again!

Come join me, will you? :flower3:

1st! :thumbsup2 ;)

I can't wait for another fabulous Larded & Loaded TR! :yay:

Cheers! :goodvibes

You had me at NOSH.....:lovestruc

I will be there Oct 17-26th, might run into you at the F&W...if you see a short dark haired chick making her poor DH hold the food at different angles so I can get the best picture possible..well that would be me! :cutie:

I cant wait to read all about it. :goodvibes

Count me in!

Well, yes I will! Thanks for the invitation. Can't wait! :)

This should be fun!:goodvibes

Hiya, Gang! I'm glad you've decided to come along for the ride.

And Nicki, look for the fluffy redhead at the PFTS. I'll be busy snapping photos, too. :thumbsup2

I'm excited that my wine lanyards I ordered arrived yesterday. I would have ordered directly from mobilegrape.com, but the owner directed me to one of her distributors who puts logos on them because I wanted one that said:

got wine?

So they are very cool! I tested out the lanyard with a wine glass, just because I'm Chesty McBewb (hmm, maybe I should dance under that name?), and I am concerned about wine glass stability.

I'm pleased to say that the wine glass stayed in the locked upright position without any interference from "chest issues". It passed the test, ladies.

I'm really happy that I won't have to hold the glass in the notched area of the "holding plate" at Party for the Senses.

That's awesome!!

I literally just spewed my wine on my computer screen. Thanks a lot. ;)

Glad it works. I ordered one too but didn't think about custom words. :headache: Yours is much better. :goodvibes

Just doing my part to ruin your monitor, all in the name of research. :teeth:

Well, ordering the wine lanyards was an adventure unto itself. People I needed to contact were out of town, I had to keep calling back, I got a bit neurotic that I would get them on time before the trip...you get the picture.
I'm just glad I have them now.

V&A fix! V&A fix!

Are you gonna eat any of that stuff or just take photos of it?

Hey I have an alternate name for all this: "Under the Tableland"
for which they could still have that big table topiary at the Epcot gate but it could have legs sticking out from under the table and instead of that Alice in Wonderland music they can play "Show Me The Way To Go Home" and that pink elephant song from when Dumbo got drunk.

Now I have those songs stuck in my head. :rotfl:

Count me in Lori! I can't wait -- and I wish you all the best for your trip.

Brad

Thanks, Brad! I had fun enjoying the non-headache parts of your trip. :thumbsup2

Heheh Catherine. I sort of picture the legs under the table in the ballroom scene at the Haunted Mansion or the drunken minstrel from "Sleeping Beauty".

There's only this one little glitch. Someone just verified in her trip report tonight that foie gras is no longer on the menus anywhere at WDW. It's true. :sad2:

I'm not happy that I won't be getting a foie gras fix. I'll just have to make do with the rest of the good food at V&A. How we suffer! ;)

See you at PFTS!

Yes, Nikki! Hopefully we'll find each other in the crowd. :)

Pictures please :woohoo: and not necessarily of the Food Porn. ;)

Have a gastronomically good time! :dance3:

And I'll know who you are at PFTS by your wine lanyard and its support system! :goodvibes
