The Nosh Heard 'Round the World: Larded and Loaded v2.0 (index complete!)

Thanks for sharing your last day. I am also counting down to my next visit for F&W and am hoping to attend Mousefest too! I've really enjoyed your report. Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Hiya Lori!

I'm going to add your dates to the running list I have on the Bendy thread if you don't mind. Just trying to keep track of everyone this time! :goodvibes

Loved your reviews as always ... and Jay and I tried the wattleseed mousse, too. It wasn't bad ... a little more bitter than I expected it to be but still pretty good. :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear somebody else enjoyed the empanadas because I thought they were really good too. I wasn't brave enough to try that wattleseed... seems I didn't miss anything spectacular. We'll be in Disney 10/9-10/18, so maybe we'll cross paths. :thumbsup2 I'm sad your report is over, you have such good foodie reviews. ::yes::

Yea Lori will be joining us!!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Thanks so much for sharing your always entertaining reviews with us and I look forward to meeting you!

Great revies Lori! Can't wait to have a Chilaquiles with you this year ..!

Well, I must say I'm enjoying the responses from people who all have their food and wine fest countdown tickers in their signatures already. :rotfl2:
Hmm, I hope we meet during one of those trips. :)

I changed my arrival date to accommodate Michelle, if we can get Chef's Domain that night. And I wouldn't go out of my way to have wattleseed mousse any time soon. I'm surprised I liked other non-chocolate desserts so much.

Aww thanks. The empanadas are a repeat offender of the festival, and I tend to gravitate toward them. By repeat offender, I'm talking about items you expect to find every year, if not every OTHER year. Cheddar cheese soup in Canada, pierogies and kielbasa in Poland, Chilaquiles in Mexico to name a few. France used to be always about those escargot, but a few years back they had frog leg chowder instead. :p Well, if we coordinate a meet that works with a bunch of us, I'm up for that.

Yea Lori will be joining us!!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

I have my own cheering section! Nice! :flower3:
I need to find the list Bendy talked about so I can see who's going.

Are you on "The List"? :rotfl: I think if you mention chilaquiles this early, Disney in its infinite wisdom :-)crazy2: ) will not have them in 2009. I don't want to jinx it. :p

Lori ..
I am on the "list" .. it sounds very Soylent Green! :scared:
Should be all good ..

Hi, Lori!

I'm a little late to the party (ok, a lot late), but I've thoroughly enjoyed your reviews nonetheless. What a great trip! V&A's (After looking at the menu, I would’ve ordered the exact same dishes as you), PftS.... It seemed like you guys had lots of fun at bluezoo, and the Jiko Wine Dinner looked amazing. I see why there's always a wait list for that one! :goodvibes I really liked your review of Cali Grill, too. I love that restaurant. It has always been a good experience for us. Lately, a lot of dissers on the DIS have been dissing it, but I remain faithful!

Love those brioche cups that play Hide-the-Snails.

:lmao: For some reason, that turn of phrase makes me think of whack-a-mole, but with snails popping out of little French bread rounds. Strange mental image.

Sign a guest book with your name and city/state, they'll give you Mardi Gras beads. You don't have to do anything remotely un-Disneyfied to get those beads, either.

Too bad! I think ****ies would've lent authenticity to the Louisianna exhibit. Maybe next year....

Woot! I had to try this, because I know that those guys and gals at Jiko can COOK!

Melt in your mouth gooooooood.

I've had this dish at Jiko, and it was sooooo sooooo gooooood! :thumbsup2

How cool to have an eggplant named after you...unless it's pickled that is....yuck!

The station had Truffle Pushers who would force you to take truffles whenever you passed by. I couldn't say no to them. Would you be able to resist them? I doubt it.

If you gotta have a monkey on your back, then it should be the delicious, rich, chocolatey kind. ;)

Glad to see you're among the land of the living again. You must have dug deep to find this report again! I had lots of good food that made up for lots of events lacking from the festival. This year I'm doing more of my own food and wine events, unless by some miracle they bring back more events.

Whack-a-Snail! Love that visual.

 I don't need that much authenticity. ;)

The Truffle Ladies were our favorite people at the party. :cloud9:

Thanks, doll! I wish I had a pinkie's worth of writing creativity like that Bendy person. ;) My new camera has a food setting. I'll have to break it in before October.

Well, it's easy for reviews to suddenly get buried on other pages. I'm glad this got bumped up for you to see.

Thanks, Miri! I'm glad to know that even obsessive English professors enjoy
food porn. I find that my snarkiness can be a bit over the top,
but I am glad you appreciate it. :)

Wow, if I'm getting a lurker to post, my work here is done. ;)
I'm still amazed that I got an impromptu cheese sandwich from an offhand
remark. And I didn't realize that cheese sandwiches and tomato soup are
multi-cultural. I learned something new! I still make that combo
at home when the mood strikes me. It's comfort food at its best. :cloud9:

Oh wow, you're THE Andrew from the French Regional Lunch! That is so cool! I'm very glad I had nothing but complimentary things to say about you! :rotfl2:
