Thanks Johnsonet! I wasn't sure...I know some resorts go all out with them and others you don't hear much about at all. I'll tell DD that I don't think they do them, and then if we do get one, it will be a pleasant surprise for her!

lissiesmum - hopefully your "Mousekeeper" will leave some towel animals

I don't post because I don't really have a question and this is our first Poly stay, so nothing to add. I do love reading everyone's thoughts, so thank you.

We are supposed to go in June, but thanks to something at DH's work (good, not bad) we may have to change to August (free dining!). I'm thinking it will be less crowded and we already have tickets, so losing the 4/3 deal is no big deal. Hmmmmm, don't know what to do. It would still be Poly, though.

I just wanted to pop in and thank you all for such a great thread! Over the weekend I booked our first stay at the Poly for mid-September, and am getting so excited for it! I've read the first few pages of this thread, but I'm sure I'll be going through all of it in the next few days. And will probably be back with some questions!

Hi All,

Getting ready for our 3rd family trip to the Poly concierge . We'll be there 4/19-4/26 . I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row here. I do have one question that I'm never really sure what's the proper amount. When checking in at the GCH, and getting the golf club car ride over to the Hawaii concierge buiding, I'm never quite sure what to tip the driver. There's usually a second person who meets me and brings my luggage up to my room. I'm all set on tipping that guy. But curious what I should be tipping the golf club car guy.

And for all you iphone users that may not know this - there are some WDW map apps that have GPS. It's a glorified park map - but it's cool to look at when you need a disney fix!

Thanks Johnsonet for the tip : My daughters are very excited as they have been having a daily countdown for about 2 months now. The first time we stayed Poly CL back in 2003 was the first day Hawaii had been re-opened after being shut down for months due to rehab. My family and I were so excited that Hawaii was re-opening even as we were pulling up. I had forgotten to tip the golf cart driver. Doh ! I felt so bad . Our next trip in 2006 I tipped $5, a different experience as our room wasn't ready yet even though it was around 4:00pm (they were way behind cleaning that day). They dropped us off and then took our luggage back to storage until our room was ready. Maybe based on what you're saying it'll be the same driver who brings my luggage to my room. Which will avoid my tip confusion this time around. If not, I always like to have a plan B ready.

Check-in: No, we didn't use the online check in. The IPO said there's really no point when staying club level. Our room was pre-assigned and ready for us when we checked in at noon.

Lissiesmum - we got a towel elephant & bday cake at AKL. Today at Poly, DD got a towel hula girl. It's our first morning, so that's
pretty good.

Weather is perfect. Epcot was lots of fun. We will check out the MK next.

Haven't met anyone from the boards yet.

Tinkerbellie -- good job with the iPhone. It took me a while to get use to it. There's 3G service in most of the lines, so that's when I was writing.

Thank you to all of you for the kind wishes. We are really enjoying ourselves. I know it will be years before we can return, so I'm making the most of it.

One more thing -- I'm sorry I am not posting any photos.

DH brought his mac from work, but does not want to log on (or he will feel obligated to deal with stuff that's going on at work).

So all I have is my iPhone, and it's hard enough to type plain messages without having issues. The interface with the boards isn't perfect.

Plus, I don't even know how to deal with photos anyway.

I know how much I enjoyed reading everyone's live reports and trip reviews so I'm hoping to return the favor.
