September 2015 - Checkin Thread

Suz, this will be my first trip to Disneyland in over 25 years, however I plan on wearing just comfy open-toe sandals to the park. I'll also have a pair of Sperrys for when I go to dinner but if I go on any water rides I don't want to walk around in wet sneakers for the next couple hours.

Yeah that's my conundrum, I have my fancy new Disney princess Vans that I want to wear, but since we will likely go on Splash Mountain several times, and probably Grizzly River Rapids, I don't really want to walk around in wet tennies!

I just noticed that the hours for the second to last week of September are out and the parks are opening at 9 am on some days instead of the 10 am listed in the weks before. Is that cuz of the Halloween parties starting up?? I still have to wait 4 more days to see what time they are going to open on the 30th...

But I prefer the flip-flops because I can ride water rides without worrying about soaking feet all day! Yeah I looked it up on their website today. I looked under Parks and Tickets and then under the first set of hours, it says, More Hours. Click on that and then click on the Month view.
Yeah i think I will just bypass bringing my Vans and bring a couple of pairs of Reefs with me. Reefs go with a Captain America costume, right?! lol

No, you just need to select the Park that you want to see the hours for at the top. Check the box.

Oh my gosh! *hides face* I've NEVER had to check the boxes before they've always just been automatically checked whenever I've gone to that page.

Stupid question, do most of you wear tennis shoes or flip flops/sandals when going in September??

You'll hear that Keen sandals are recommended quite a bit. My wife got some before our last trip and loved them. I have some for this trip also and plan on wearing them.

I bought the grey Mickey slip on's!! Too cute, but I didn't want to wear them much and risk getting them dirty, so I am hoping they are just comfortable...

I think those for the first part of the day and my flip flops and FP'S for the water rides after our hotel break in the afternoon.

I always wear my Nike flip flops the first half of the day, which is when I would be riding water rides. Then when I go back to the hotel midday for a breather I switch to sneakers. I am hoping the heat is not too brutal!

672 hrs for us! (28 days sounds much better LOL)
My biggest drawback is the plane ride. 4 1/2 hrs ...ugh
I can barely stand the 2 hr's 20 mins it takes for us to fly to Orlando.
Not afraid of flying...I just get really uncomfortable on the plane (neck & back get sore) Have tried a neck pillow doesn't help.
Really dreading the flights.

Hours are out for the end of September-beginning of October and it definitely looks like we're getting slightly extended park hours for the fall at least! Was not expecting an 8:00am-9:00pm day on September 29th and 8:00am-10:00pm (both including EMH) DL day on October 1! Happy to have those extra hours though.

Has anybody gone on Rosh Hashanah in the past? Any thoughts regarding crowds? Somebody else previously noted that the only day I'll be in the parks, the Los Angeles school district is not in session. This makes me a bit worried about the crowds.

And FWIW, I'll be at DLR until September 5th. DS birthday on the 3rd. I'm running the 5k on the 4th. This is going to be a great trip!
