DisneyMommyMichelle - Thanks for the insight to the Candlelight Processional. I'll have to give a bit of thought to this one.


Daily question answer: As far as counting down to a trip, I/we do a few things. I have an app on my phone so I can easily swipe over to see how many days. I also write the number of days on a whiteboard on my desk at work. Once we get to the point where we tell my daughter we print our calendar pages for her. Each day she gets to put a sticker on today's date. That way she can visually see how long it will be before we leave.

Great daily question! I haven't started counting down except on an app on my phone. I think we will do a paper chain at some point, but maybe just the last month or two.

I KNOW this is the impossible question, but we are going to pretend that we are all going on a 3 day trip and we need 2 places to eat each day on property and no reservations needed!

1. Spice Road Table (The food + The service)
2. Sci-Fi Dine In (The Ambiance)
3. Sanaa (Food + Ambiance + Service)

Counter Service:
1. Be Our Guest (Food + Ambiance)
2. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie (Food + Ambiance)
3. Harambe Market (All of the everything! This place I could eat at daily!)

First, hope I can jump in on this thread! We just got confirmation from David's that we are booked for a week at BLT!! Woohoo! It'll be a multigenerational trip-

BLT Grand Villa- 12/9-12/16, Me, DH, DD1 (7), DS1 (6), DS2 (4), DD2 (2), Uncle, G-ma, G-pa!!!

QOD- tricky one!
Table Service (our reservation tend to focus on the kids' experience!)
1. Cinderella's Royal Table (We are big time princesses here!)
2. Chef Mickey's (my boys LOVE this place and sentimental for me)
3. California Grill (date night!)

Counter Service
1. Columbia Harbor House (another sentimental favorite)
2. Be Our Guest (unique food and beautiful!)
3. Flame Tree BBQ (it was closed last time I was there and I've heard so much about it)

Joining in, while I'm 5 days away from our trip this Jan, I just booked us at SSR for 12/11/2017-12/15/2017 followed up by a 3 night Merrytime Cruise, it will be our first cruise ever and my daughter(8) has been begging for the cruise-she's a December birthday and loves celebrating her birthday in Disney! My grown son and his fiancé and their baby boy will be joining us on this trip too. So grand baby's first Disney trip, first cruise for all of us!!! OMG I am so excited!

Do you park hop or not and why?

YESSSSS!!! We are infinite park hoppers and we can often hit up 3-4 parks in one day. We rope drop at one park and only do as much as we can get on and that same day we make all our FP+ reservations at a different park in the evening hours. This gives us the middle of the day to have a table service restaurant and shop and explore another park that won't be as busy!​

Since we are pretty new to Disney there's still a lot of restaurants we haven't tried yet but here's my list:

We had park hoppers but never did any park hopping. We usually went early to a park & just stayed until we were done. I'm not sure how we'll tour on this trip.

I'm not sure how MVMCP will affect our park hopping, but last time we went we stayed at BLT and the proximity to MK made hopping a must! We would rope drop one park, come back to the room for a mid day rest, then walk to MK for dinner and a few rides. This time we will add on park hopper once we are there- if we think it will be beneficial.

Our previous 2 trips we stayed at CR so we definitely park hopped! It was so easy to hop on the monorail for a quick stop in. But now I'm struggling with this same question for our Christmas-NYE week trip at CBR--I'm think it will be too busy to park hop but the new express busses would make it easier. I'll need to decide by next month so I can take advantage of the Cdn discount! Decisions, decisions!

So, fingers uncrossed for the Poly. After talking to our agent and a couple DVC owners I've heard it's immensely hard to find owners willing to give up points for the Poly so we've moved on.... to a TWO BEDROOM VILLA AT BLT - THEME PARK VIEW!! So fingers crossed now that we can find some points for BLT! Back to the queue!

A day late, but we always get park hoppers. I am hoping they still have the express transportation option in December to make it easier!

Just surfing around this morning and found out that Tamu Tamu Refreshments in AK sells Dole Whips with Coconut or Dark Rum! How did I not know this!!!! Must try!!
