It has been over 2 years since I saved this swap. We had a couple of bumps this past year but all seems to be going well.
Hi everyone. This is the GOLD STAR POP FRIDGE/TOASTER SWAP/COFFEE MAKER.
Check your dates and see if you can join us!
If you're interested in this swap please read this first post. It's all in here--dates, what you have to do, everything.
Please read this ENTIRE first post, but I'll summarize the highlights---
You must exchange personal info with the people on either side of you.
Face-to-face swapping is required if possible.
For face-to-face swaps, you still need to get the info for the person AFTER the person you are meeting, in case the person you're meeting doesn't show up (this happened already in our swap - twice)
For unavoidable luggage assistance swaps, completely include next swappers name, date of arrival, and reservation #.
And please let me how the swapping went after you are done, so I know for sure if you handed it off to the next person or put it in storage.

Ground Rules:
1) If you want to join the swap, please PM me.Please put the date in the title to help me keep track of dates. In the body of the request please provide: your name (the one the reservation is under), the cell phone number you'll have at WDW, your dates and confirmation/reservation number. You will NOT be listed until you send me this information, and risk being removed if you do not get this info to me in a timely manner. This is just for emergency situations--otherwise I will give it to no one--you are responsible for contacting those surrounding your dates to exchange personal info and arrange swapping logistics
2) This fridge needs to stay at POP Century.
3) Everyone is responsible for being in contact with both the people before and after them. Please PM me once you've made contact and arrangements so I can mark you as confirmed.
4) If you are scheduled to meet someone to do a face-to-face handoff of the fridge, you must also have the info for then NEXT swapper after them. Just in case there is a glitch and the person's plans change and they don't show up and you can't reach them. That way you can put the fridge into storage for the person AFTER.
5) If there is a gap before you, make sure the person before you knows your info to leave on the box and knows your phone number to call you with the luggage assistance receipt number.
6) If a face-to-face handoff is not possible, the fridge MUST BE LABELED very clearly with the personal info for the next user. Make sure you know the correct name, ressie number, and pick-up date to leave on the outside of the box. I've taped a plastic sleeve to the box top with one side open. Inside there are several copies of a form to fill out where you can write all this info.
7) If you do end up using Bell Services (Luggage Assistance) to hold the fridge, please make sure to tip them appropriately. We need their good will. You MUST GET A RECEIPT/CLAIM CHECK and contact the person after you with the ticket number. Please seal the claim check in an envelope and leave it at the front desk with the next person's name, arrival date and reservation number (but not to say what's in the envelope). Please make sure you write down the number first and also call the next person with the number, in case the envelope gets lost.
As reported by myself (in March) and WizardLarz (May 27):
I did not get the man's name or job title, but he made it sound like he was in charge of Baggage at Pop. When I took the fridge to hold for the next swapper, he would not give me a second tag just for the fridge. He said that there are times when the fridges take up half of the storage space. Please make sure to label the fridge and bring my cell # with you in case we need to find previous or future swapper information.
8) Do not let the box get thrown away by Mousekeeping.
Please clean the fridge before you pack it up, and pack it carefully. And here's a reminder to put the tape back in the box BEFORE you seal it.
If you have any non-perishables left over which you do not want to take home, it's okay to leave them for the next person. If it will be a week or longer before the next swapper place a towel in the door to keep it slightly ajar to help with the ventilation.
9) Please let me know when you return exactly what you did with the fridge as far as getting it to the next person. I would also appreciate knowing if anything is damaged. We also have a coffee pot and toaster both of which have been replaced once already.
Wow--the box is BIG and HEAVY. The fridge (black) is 3.0 cu. ft., and weighs 50 pounds. I taped signs both to the fridge and the box with the name of our swap. And my kids taped some gold stars on both, too. Some people have found it helpful to print pictures of the box from this thread to take with, to help in the search through luggage assistance for the box. There's also a journal you can sign if you want. There's a toaster, cleaning supplies, markers, and some local coupon books in case you have a car. Try to wedge it all in tightly, so the rattling doesn't break the fridge's shelves.
