Lucky, Lauren. I've always wanted to go to NY and Mark would never take me (he used to go twice a year)...he always told me it was just like Chicago--just bigger and dirtier.
That's funny, Judy used to go to Chicago once a year for PChef conferences and she always wished that she could take us to show us the city, she really liked it, but the rest of us never got to go.
Sounds like a great "city" portion of the trip for her and Judy!
I think it'll be great too.
What a great trip! And a wonderful way to see NYC. I've actually gone with two different women to either get their dress altered at Kleinfeld or to try on dresses there. Its not all that exciting, but I'm sure television makes it seem that way. I've never see the show.
They try to come up with different things to focus on, like differences of opinion between the bride and her mother (or other people), or hard-to-fill requests of the bride, etc.
They are going to love Wicked!
And, yes, NYC prices can put a lot of things in perspective.
With the prices, it's probably better that I don't go. I don't want to know!
Also, one of my close friends lives in the city and does a great job guiding various friends and family members through the highlights of the city, so I can give you some suggestions. What neighborhood is the hotel in?
200 W. 56th Street. A block from Carnegie Hall and 3 blocks from Central Park.
How fun for Lauren and Judy! It is hard to believe Lauren could be graduating - well, not that she couldn't graduate, just that she is almost grown up!
Tell me about it. It's really weird...I don't feel old enough for this! Senior night at the last football game (she's in the band), we had to escort her across the field at halftime to receive a rose -- it was surreal.
Dawn, Punkin413 had what I think was an amazing NYC trip a few years ago - Here is a link to her TR - I know she ate close to Broadway

I was impressed with her visit, because I would be afraid it would be so busy and overwhelming that I wouldn't know what to do.
I remember that, but had forgotten...I'll have to go look at it again. Thanks!
A graduation trip to NYC is fantastic! I may be a bit biased LOL.
Oh yeah? I wonder why?
I know The Manhattan Club (pass it all the time). The location is FANTASTIC.
It looked good on the map! Close to a lot of stuff.
Wicked is an amazing show. I've seen it twice and it was worth every penny each time.
Good to hear!
Kleinfeld is an amazing place. I got my prom dress at Kleinfeld's in 1995 when they were still located in Brooklyn.
I think they'll have fun. I don't know how long the Kleinfeld people will let them browse, but I think Lauren just wants to check it out.
If you need any help planning, brochures, information, subway maps, let me know. Also, I can definitely recommend various restaurants in all price ranges. Since I don't (can't) cook and most of my friends don't either, I'm always at a new restaurant.
Wow, thanks for the offer! I may be hitting you up.
Would Lauren and Judy want to do a spa experience? Manicures and pedicures? There's a great place not too far from The Manhattan Club.
I'm sure they'd consider it. I'll mention it to Judy. I think the hotel also offers them.
Oh, I will be looking forward to that update: the Glennbo Family's show planning!!!
Don't wait too long for that update!
I hope Lauren and Judy will have a wonderful time in NYC! I loved my time there in 2008 and would love to return.
Thanks, I'm sure they'll have a great time.
I have no idea what Kleinfelds is about, I guess a TV show?
Yes, it's a reality show called "Say Yes to the Dress" about women shopping for a wedding dress.
If you had told me 20 years ago what would make up the television programming now, I wouldn't have believed it!
