Dining reviews 11/25-12/6-Lots of pics, a little talk - Counter Service - The End!

I'll do the CS after this, very limited pics, sorry! DH's absolute favorite food in all of WDW - ESPN Hot Wings. He must have had these 1/2 dozen times during our 11 day stay:

OK, I'll do the CS by park. Let me start by saying we aren't impressed overall by the quality of CS at WDW. We don't care for burgers or chicken strips so our choices are limited.

MK - There's only two places we do - Columbia Harbour House and Casey's. There's just something about the Hot Dog at Casey's that we can't pass up, we make it a point to hit Casey's once every trip. We both had the Grand Slam All Beef 1/4 lb. Hot Dog with fries, and the fries were very fresh and hot.

Columbia Harbour House - We really enjoy the Half Sandwich and Cup of soup, both of us chose the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich and the Bowl of New England Clam Chowder. This was really good, the Chowder was piping hot and the Tuna Sandwich was very good. This 1/2 sandwich is huge!! For dessert we chose the apple crisp which was OK:

EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons is by far our favorite of all CS places in all of the parks, simply because of the variety offered. I only have pics of the best and the worst.:upsidedow The worst was the Asian Two Entree Items and Two Sides, don't remember what this was (DS's GF had this), but I had tried to tell her based on a previous visit the Asian food is the weak link here:

I had the Caesar Salad with Oak-fired Chicken (a ton of chicken) and the Key Lime Pie, both were great!

DS had the Turkey and Muenster Cheese on Foccacia with Chipotle Mayonnaise which he gave me a bite of and I will be getting that baby next time, it was very good. DH had the Rotisserie Chicken Plate which he said was just OK, the chicken was dry.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop - This was our first time trying this and were pleasantly surprised. We all had the Fish & Chips and thought it was pretty good!!

MGM - As everyone knows the choices here suck! The only thing I eat here is the Grilled Turkey & Cheese with arugula and red peppers at Backlot Express, it's really good. DH & I both had this along with the Strawberry Parfait which wasn't memorable:

AK - We've always gone to Tusker House so we had to decide between Yak & Yeti or Flametree. I got outvoted on this one and they are still hearing about it. Flametree BBQ won....DS & I both got the Pork Sandwich, I subbed coleslaw for the baked beans. We both agreed this was terrible. The sandwich was cold and dry, even adding BBQ sauce to it didn't help much. The coleslaw was OK. We got the Key Lime Pie and Frozen lemonades for dessert which were good:

DH had the 1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs which were not very good either. They were very dry and had very little flavor:

The clear winner here was DS's GF order of Smoked 1/2 Chicken. This was the only thing that was served hot and it was very moist and flavorful. She enjoyed the baked beans as well:

Well folks that wraps up my review. I hope I was able to help someone in deciding on where to go or what to eat. If nothing else, it's been great fun and I've met some great new friends here!:goodvibes

Thank you again for the reviews and pictures (especially of the drinks.....).
I enjoyed reading them all.

Your reviews were wonderful! I am debating about going on a solo trip and I would stay at Boardwalk and eat at good TS places. Your suggestions may be encouraging me to just do it!

Great job Kat! I just said to Tom..."See? Kathy's husband doesn't mind that she takes pics of all the food." The first time we went to Disney together, he was embarrassed that I wanted to take pics so I didn't even try last time but I guess I will be in June!!! :cool1:

Tell Tom that I'm now posting on the "Porn Thread", maybe that'll entice him.:rotfl2:

Love the fact you ate at really GOOD restaurants. I'm dying to try the ones I haven't been to yet.
Blue Zoo will definitely be a must on my next trip.

When planning for this trip we decided to "dine-up" a bit. We don't like buffets and wanted to do as many "Signature" Restaurants as possible. You should see my list for our next trip :scared1: I kicked it up another notch. It'll probably take years to save the $$$.:rotfl:

Finally caught up - great reviews Kathy, thanks for taking the time to share them with us all. :goodvibes

We tried Spoodles for the first time in Ocotber and really enjoyed it - the Sangria alone is worth going for!

As for USO / IoA - we've stayed over there twice and have had some incredible meals. It's definitely worth trying some day (Emerils and Tchoup Chop were both terrific and we love the Hard Rock).

Thanks again for the reviews!

I agree, Spoodles Sangria is so good. I think we're going to plan a few days at US/IOA next time and you know I've gotta go to my boy Emeril's!:thumbsup2

Great reviews! Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks for posting the rest of your reviews Kathy - I've really enjoyed them all and, I just have to say, it's only 9 weeks and 3 days until I will be drinking our beloved Skyy Berry Martini :thumbsup2

Hope things with DS are OK and he is enjoying his wheels :)
