As anyone seen Wicked?

I live near NYC so I can go see it in there but I was wondering if anyone has seen it in LA and what you thought of it. I am seriously thinking about getting tickets for March while I am out there.

I went last March and really enjoyed it. If you are an Ugly Betty fan, they had an episode that was supposed to have been at a theater in NY, but actually was filmed at the Pantages in Hollywood with the Hollywood cast in it. Eden Espinoza was Elphaba, but she is supposed to have left the show at the end of 2007. Megan Hilty was Galinda. The new Elphaba is supposed to be Caissie Levy.

I've seen it just under 250 times.

I still like it

Thanks I think I am definitely going to see it. I have only seen it once in NYC. It is just way too popular in the city to get tickets for a few months from now.

Just saw it on Dec 29th - great show! We were fortunate to see Eden Espinosa, Carol Kane, and Adam Wyle before (we understand) they ended their runs with the show the following night. That night understudy Emily Rozek played Glinda, and honestly I don't know how that role could have been performed better. And this coming from a Kristen Chenoweth fan!

Love, Love, Loved Wicked. We saw it in October and loved it. I took my 9 year old DD too and she loved it just as much and is SO in love the the soundtrack. We can't wait to go see it again!

Have fun!

Yes yes yes... you must see Wicked! We saw it fall of 2006 in Seattle and absolutely loved it! I only hope that I get the chance to see it again someday!!! On a side note, we just travelled to Seattle last week to see Jersey Boys as well. It was completely different to Wicked but fabulous as well. Even though those songs just slightly preceded my generation, you still know them. It was really great!! Oh what a night....!!!

We just saw it at Pantages in December, but it looks like I'm going to need to get tickets again to check out the cast changes. ;)

I'd love to see John Rubinstein as The Wizard and JoAnne Worley as Madame Morrible.

Loved Eden Espinosa as Elphaba, hopefully her replacement will be good.

I've seen several Fiyero's and several Glinda's and Kristoffer Cusick and Megan Hilty are my favorites!
As far as I know both of them are staying.
:woohoo:

I don't know anything about the new Boq... but the previous one was not my favorite in that role anyway.

Definitely worth seeing at Pantages!

LOVED IT!!!!!! ( saw 12/30/07) My birthday present

Boq- we liked.. He was on the Gilmore Girls..

I do admit... I liked the bubbles the best. The story was incredible and it answered a lot of questions...

The set was incredible and the monkeys were so cool...

I saw it 2/07 and it was amazing!!! I would tell anyone to go see it, the cast was great (Eden, Megan, Carol Cane who I love!), and Pantages is such a beautiful theater and amazing to see shows at (we also saw Lion King here).

I think I need to go back too!

Okay... now my head is spinning with possibilities. We are going to be in DL from August 13 to 17th. I hadn't considered taking everyone to Wicked but now am wondering if that might be a GREAT idea. We live in the Southern interior of British Columbia and waiting for the good stuff to come to Vancouver is like pulling teeth! That's why we head to Seattle once or twice a year. I would love to see Wicked again. What would the drive from Anaheim to the Pantages be like? We weren't planning on renting a car but would consider it for a good reason like this. Or, would there be car services etc that we could hire to take us there for the evening. Would that cost big bucks? Any advice from you experiences Californians? Thanks in advance!!!! :grouphug:

I'm guessing it would probably be most economical to rent a car.

Disneyland to Pantages is just over 30 miles. Mapquest drive time is 37 minutes.

Absolutely do NOT believe that though. If you're spending the money on Wicked tickets you want to be there to see the show!

Last time we drove up that way; from 60 miles out with a mapquest estimated drive time of just over an hour, it actually took us almost 3 hours.
No wrecks, no stalled vehicles, no special traffic reports on any of the freeways we traveled.

Yes, LA traffic really can be that bad

But Pantages is pretty close to the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store, or Graumans Chinese Theatre, or American Girl Place LA, or other Hollywood landmarks if any of those interest you. You could make a day of it to be sure you're there on time.

I am staying near LAX so it won't take me that long while I wait for my friends to arrive. Then we are traveling down to SD.

Go, go! DD and I went in September... loved it so much, for my inlaws Christmas gift we bought them tickets (visiting from Tennessee), and DD got to escort them. We absolutely loved it! If you have a large group book early, it gets hard to find decent seats together for a party of more than 2 or 3.

Too bad you aren't going in January or February, they just sent out a discount code for several of the dates in both months. I'm going again at the end of February, sitting in the orchestra section for 50% off my ticket price. Not every ticket is discounted, the mezzanine was full price for that date. The code is 3WINTER.

I got a lotto ticket today in NYC. I am so addicted. But my head hurts cause I was in front row.

It's awesome! Read the book first! And don't forget "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister."
