Anyone else eagerly awaiting reviews of the "improved" Wishes Dessert Party?

We've attended the party twice, once before it became really popular (and perhaps around the time they first started offering it) and the second time in 2013, so both times before the changes. From my perspective I would NOT do this again because of the price increase. Having said that, I also wouldn't advise someone to NEVER do it because it is perhaps worth doing at least once. It is crowded, but not near as bad as watching from main street, and nice to have a semi-reserved spot. Our experience last time is that you do need to stand by the railing early to get a good spot but that's nothing like trying to get a spot on main street.

It's not crowded. Everyone reservation gets a table and chairs. When folks line up at the rail for the show it gets arm to arm. The actually dessert party is seated (except for the billion times we go up for tasty treats).

I don't know why you are taking my comment so personally? I never even noticed your username until now.

I am just saying the CM behavior is weird in this case because they go nuts when other rules get tested, yet they let people disturb others and don't do a thing in a paying situation.

Not taking your particular comment personally, just over-explaining in too much detail as I usually do. :) I apologize if I came off too strong, not my intention.

Has anyone had any luck doing both the Main Street Electrical parade and the dessert party? Going in Nov and only one night has parade during our trip....of course the night I could book dessert party. Trying to see if we could do both or if I have to choose....parade is at 9 pm and fireworks 10 pm. I know I would have to sacrifice some dessert time since check in starts at 9. ...Hoping to catch parade and make our way over to party around 9:30....Thoughts?

It could be done, but you'll definitely need to make sure you've got a place to see it on the same side of the street as Tomorrowland. Also, you will miss the castle projection show, but then IMO the terrace is not a good place to see that anyway. I'm not sure if November is different, but the past two years we've gone in September originally there was only one parade scheduled before the fireworks. Then, maybe 30 days out?, they scheduled a 2nd one for after the fireworks. That was perfect because we waited for people to clear out after the fireworks and then had our choice of spots for the 2nd parade. So, I would keep checking just in case. Good luck!

Thanks! I was hoping for a second parade but not counting on it. Appreciate the advice!

We are doing the wishes party in October and hoping that they add another parade so we can see it as well. Where did you head to for a good spot? We usually watch from FrontierLand. Thanks!

We waited a bit until the mass of humanity had left, and then we got a spot in the circular hub section where the statue of Walt and Mickey is, facing main street and the exit. We loved that spot. We were able to get to it easily and quickly after the dessert party, and there wasn't much crowding in that area. The picture I use is actually one I took from that spot.

Second MSEPs were added to many nights in November last year since, with MVMCP in play, there were so few options to see it. I think you have a good chance of not having to rush to do both! :)

Thanks so much for this! I hope I am as lucky as you were - sound like a perfect spot!

I'm back!!! Sorry to keep you all in suspense for so long. Just returned from vacation last night and wanted to make sure I was on my "real" computer (vs. iPad) before posting here.

When you arrive you enter at the ramp that leads from the Tomorrowland Terrace area to Tomorrowland. Everyone in your party receives a wristband and a plastic flute of sparkling apple juice. A CM escorts you to your table and the CM offers a “toast” to everyone at the table. Food and drinks are set up in the area closest to the walkway that leads from the Tomorrowland Terrace area to The Plaza Restaurant/Main Street USA. Ice cream is on a rolling cart and is manned by a CM all evening.

Here's the menu:
Cannoli
Mini Cupcakes (2 kinds--a green "Tinkerbell"ish cupcake and a blue "Frozen" theme cupcake)
Chocolate dipped strawberries
Chocolate peanut butter tart
Oreo Mickey Mouse
Panna cotta
Tiramisu
Ghirardelli chocolate chip cheesecake brownie
Rice crispy treats (dipped in chocolate on one end with Mickey sprinkles)
Fruit Plate (watermelon, honeydew, pineapple, grapes)
Cheese(3 kinds cubed) and dried fruit plate
Ice cream sundaes with chocolate sauce, Mickey sprinkles or regular sprinkles and whipped cream

Drinks:
Water,
Strawberry lemonade
“Spa” water (water with fresh fruit)
Milk
Sweetened tea
Lemonade
Coffee
Hot water to make tea or hot chocolate
Sipping chocolate

When the castle show started everyone moved to the railings—as they have done in the past. I didn't see anyone pull up chairs to the railing though—which I've seen at past parties. The view is obviously the same as it's always been but we seemed to think that with the hub revision there is actually a new tree that blocks the view of the castle from this vantage point that we didn't remember being there before (but we could be mistaken).

I took some photos and hopefully will figure out how to post them since I haven't posted photos since the DisBoards were revised.

So, here's my overall feeling about the "new" event--not worth the new price. :( Sorry gang. As I mentioned earlier, it's been a couple of years since I attended the party but have done it 2-3 times in the past. Aside from the tablecloths, lanterns and sparkling cider--not much felt "new" to me. I certainly didn't feel like I got $20 per person “more” than I did at parties in the past. It's nice but not THAT nice. Any specific questions? Ask away
.

We went to the party in 2011. There was a photopass photographer there then, who took a lot of really great photos. Do they still have one on hand? We booked this for our Christmas trip this time because as in 2011 my parents will be with us and it is nice for them to be able to sit down.
