2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

Thanks Dee. I would like to join the cast of thousands (or what seems to be such) and say that your efforts at keeping the data on page one up to date is greatly appreciated.

staying either BC or YC CL Std View for food & wine festival/1st anniversary this October but I can't for the life of me choose between the two...is there really much difference?

I'll chime in for the "dark side" here. The YC tends to be a little less "busy" in the lobby as it doens't have Cape May and the character breakfast off the lobby. Captain's Grill is great for TS dining. Yachtsman Steakhouse is in between the two as is Beaches and Cream. Only thing you lose at the YC is the Marketplace and the quick-service food. Easy access to SAB from both. Some have commented that the rooms at YC might actually have a brighter decor than the BC. I think it's the less active lobby that I perfer at the YC which is why I like to stay there. You save two minutes walking to Epcot from BC but you save two minutes from the YC walking to the boat dock for HS.

Fortunately another yacht/beach faq means these 2 resorts rock the most here cause there is so much traffic.

Well Teena, people have always said you were glowing and, with this new chapter in your treatment, think of how much money you'll be saving on nightlights!

As for Dee, here's another thank you for all that you do for this thread! We'd be lost with out you and Teena... literally in some cases!

I also wish to extend my thoughts and prayers to all who are going through trials and tribulations, either health related or otherwise.

And in other news I thought you all should know that we've subcontracted with the Chippendale Dancers to provide turn down services in the Mousekeeping closet/ extended stay, fantasy suite. Keep in mind though if you are married, they WILL turn you DOWN!

Yup- I was easily able to copy all of the info from the old thread, but the photo links don't come through intact, so I need to add the pictures back in manually. That's a job for the early morning hours when the house is quiet and I am in the proper state of caffienation.

Not sure if it's too early to post on here or not but we're thinking about staying either BC or YC CL Std View for food & wine festival/1st anniversary this October but I can't for the life of me choose between the two...is there really much difference? I get the nautical vs beach theme...but in terms of service, amenities etc which would you pick and why?

We have stayed at both, and we prefer YC. There really are only minor differences, such as the decor and the walking distance to Epcot (which really isn't much further) .. but they share all the same common areas. As for the decor, while the lobby's are definitely different with the YC being darker, we didn't find the rooms to be darker at the YC.
Is being closer to the marketplace (CS) important for you? Stay BC. Is the guarantee of a balcony important? Go with YC. Want a lively lobby (BC) or a more quiet, subdued lobby (YC)?
You can't go wrong with your decision! They are both great!! We prefer YC because we feel it's more "adult-like" and we are just 2 adults.

Got it choc tandycakes (not the peanut butter ones) and choco juniors. What no butterscott krimpets?

Sorry can't change to later I booked this trip last July so I could get a 2bd with 2Q in the second bdroom. I'm taking 4 teenage girls and I'm not giving up that 2Q room
Have you heard Tastykakes sold the company? They said it was keeping the staff so hopefully everything stays the same. I'm wondering are you originally from around Philly?
