Pearls of Wisdom and what would you do differently on your next trip?

Had our first experience with Disney buses this Jan and it was great. They were clean and speedy. Even after a long day in the parks the people were so sweet. My family (including a 5 and 8 year old) were one of the last ones on, so we were standing. A family near us saw that this may be a...

Be Our Guest Lunch - Swapping dessert for an appetizer?

my family had lunch at BOG on 1/12. I had emailed Disney to ask if we would be able to swap our drink for a snack at that restuaruant and they said yes, as long as it is listed as a snack. Pre-ordered our meals with dessert and soups instead of drinks. When we arrived to check-in/pay I wanted...

    Disney Withdrawal..Who else experiences this?

Same boat here. Had a wonderful 2 days in the park, was on a Disney High for a few days, then then the blues hit. Have started to work on a scrapbook of the trip and have been having a treat from the Germany pavilion every few days. Tried to recreate the braised beef from BOG yesterday and am...

Going back after a long Disney break... need some calming

I'd start jotting down some restaurants that look interesting, for ADRs (some fill up quickly like Be Our Guest MK), and what fast passes are at the top of your list. Also keep an eye on when you can make your ADRs (180 days out) and FPs (60 days out +10? if staying on site or 30 days out) and...

Heading to WDW with kids for the first time

Sounds like you're off to a great start! If the younger ones have never ridden any bigger rides/coasters, maybe they can watch some you tube ride videos to see what it'll be like, if you are at all concerned. Have a great time!

    Sanaa animal viewing at dinner..

Had a 5:50 ADR on 1/11. We got there early to check out the animals in their viewing spots and relax in their rocking chairs. We checked in early to our ADR, got a window view for our meal, and we were able to watch a few animals (including 4 giraffes) walking by, but I feel it would be hit or...

Akershus or tour WS with 7yr old?

My family had a similar plan. We did RD, TT, then booked it over to Soarin. We then did land, Nemo and Turtle Talk. By then it was around 11 so we could do mexico, Norway and china before an Akershus lunch. Don't forget that there's the Anna and Elsa meet and greet. For your 10:50 it might...

    Disney Brownies

we had one at Casey's and was very surprised how yummy it was, not cake like. It's like the Ghirardelli box mix I use at home, but better.

what day of the week do most people check in?

Not sure if all the resorts are the same but when I did advance check in for an AoA room, they sent me a text by about 2 and let me know what the room # was and we just went straight to it.

    AoA v. POFQ

I just stayed in a AoA little mermaid room last week, which was my first time staying on property. The theming was super cute and the outside décor/grounds were gorgeous. Walking from that section was no problem at all (clocked it at about 7 minutes to Landscape of flavors), plus it's a fun...

Pearls of Wisdom and what would you do differently on your next trip?

Yes, love the dollar store for some of these little items, like those bunched up Disney hand towels that expand in the water. They also had great organic chocolate Mickey crackers at Walmart that made great snacks for the park.

Pearls of Wisdom and what would you do differently on your next trip?

Love the "surprise box" too! What a great way to extend the magic. I feel like I'm in need of one after being home for a week - getting the Disney blues. I think I will try to re-create a dole whip float this weekend for a pick me up :)

    Easy Breakfast at MK?

I also brought some yogurts, fruit, and granola from the resort to enjoy with my SB coffee and pastry. Got our pick of tables in front of the Plaza restaurant to enjoy. I'm sure the tables in front of Casey's were equally empty. Have a great time!

New Magic Kingdom Welcome Show & Main Street Opening UPDATE: Page 15 - Post #281

Yes, it was wonderful!! We got to relax and enjoy the morning before getting a good spot for rope drop. I am also guessing it will not stay that way once people know you can get in so early without PPO ADRs, although hopefully this may take a while because I was so amazed at guests even asking...

Pearls of Wisdom and what would you do differently on your next trip?

We just got a cheap used sit and stand (baby trend) specifically for this trip. We used it mainly just at night and to store extra snacks/layers of clothes. In MK we parked it by the carousel for most of the day and then in Epcot it stuck around Mexico most of the afternoon. I knew we were...
