The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane

So, to my surprise, the dress was delivered today. It runs big and has a ton of stretch, but is form fitting (spanx will be my friend in this dress) I’m not a huge fan of the material, only because it does kinda seem a weird choice for a dress, but it is comfy. One of my friends, who is a local, said it is almost scuba gear material, and I would agree with that. I think I’ll likely pair it with a black knit sweater and tall boots in the winter just to break up the all over animal print.
Just to note that I’m currently carrying a few extra pounds because I’ve not been able to get back into my normal eating/workout routine with my daughter’s pregnancy (it was high risk) and helping out with the baby since her arrival. I’m hoping to get back in the groove of things soon (fingers crossed because I’m EXHAUSTED). With that being said, I think sizing down was still the right choice because it just seems bigger than the other Disney dresses

And since I was trying on the dress I went ahead and took pics of Tiana dress

it’s hard to take a pic and show the extra material in waist and rump so this was my best go at it. It’s only slightly big in chest area so I think I can leave that, but I’ll get a seamstress to fix the rest. The extra material in the rear makes the last part of zipper kinda bunch up so that is what bothers me most.

Wow, you look amazing in the AK dress! The colors are perfect for you. Wowza!!!

I really like the Tiana dress on you as well. It doesn't look big in the first photo but the second one does. What a drag! I'm sure your seamstress will be able to do her magic.

Thanks for posting!

Thank you! You just made my night :)
Animal print scares me for some reason, but I do like the dress more than I thought I would. I’m not sure, but it must be at the outlets because I got it at a really good price, like over 1/2 off retail! I don’t think it’s a dress I would’ve gotten if it were full price, or even the discounted price on shopDisney.
I LOVE the Tiana dress and pics really don’t do it justice. It’s one of those dresses that I think is universally flattering for any body type despite the fact it’s fitted and not flared. The ruffles at top and the gradual color change at the bottom draws attention away from trouble areas.

For heaven sakes, if I only looked as good! I don't see any trouble areas on you. You really have the perfect curves and are a total knock out!

Oooh, what handbags are you going to use? I hope you post your completed outfit; bags, shoes, jewelry etc. ::yes::
Oh trust me, it’s all smoke and mirrors 😂
I’ll have to post pics of completed outfit, but it may be a while. The daughter and granddaughter take up the majority of my time lately so I don’t get out that much. My son-in-law is in his last year of an apprenticeship so he has classes after work two nights a week on top of working 6 days a week so my daughter spends several days & nights a week at my house just so she can get some sleep (and a shower). When they aren’t here, I’m catching up on housework and sleep. However, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. 3E96E05C-C925-44C6-BF6A-581C6E1D8EEA.jpeg
She loves sleeping on her Coco. She gives the best little cuddles

I like it, but the sleeves look like they might be a bit constrictive, maybe? I think I need to wait and see it in person.
I agree. I have always had "fat" or "thick" armpits, even as a child, so that probably wouldn't work well for me. I know they are thick, because my mom used to make my clothes. She always had to adjust the pattern. It's the strangest thing, because they were always thick, even when I was little and skinny.

I have always had broad shoulders and thick upper arms so can relate. I can’t stand for my arms to be constricted.
