This is the one place that DD9 (10 by trip) wants to eat at again. They still have steak so that's okay. But appetizers for me just seem Is escargot or charred octopus slimy? I might be able to get the kid to try some, she's less picky than me lol

Really? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/macaron
Definition of macaron

- Note that we speak here of the Parisian macaron, two airy almond meringue cookies pressed around a creamy filling—not those tiny bombs of shredded coconut that, on our shores, answer to the name "macaroon."

If the escargot is covered with enough of a butter/garlic sauce, that's all you will taste and it is delicious!!!
They were probably thinking about the vast majority of the population who do not have food allergies and are not vegan or vegetarian
You expected the menu for Be Our Guest to be interesting?I hated the new menu. Even with a seafood dish that menu isn't that interesting. I guess it's bye-bye to BoG.
I expected them not to throw all the fish scraps in a pot and call it stew but give it a French name to make it fancy. Or to not make the only vegetarian dish pasta based. You expected the menu for Be Our Guest to be interesting?
I agree, I imagine is a topping to add a bit of crunch/topping/flavor

Every menu at every eatery does not have to accommodate every taste.
Under 3 should be allowed to share. So um...am I the only one excited to try this?! There's no way I'm taking my 5-year old who barely eats anything, but I might take my 2-year old foodie - how does that usually work when a kid is under 3? I assume if I order him his own meal I'll pay the set kids price, or can he share my food?
I'm going to call them and ask if/what I'd be able to eat. I prefer to eat vegan, but I'll eat dairy if there aren't other options. I'll report back.I'll be on the lookout for reports from veg*n diners, for sure!
And those desserts.... the more I think about it, the more I wonder what they were thinking. Tree nuts, eggs, dairy, gelatin, oh my! Vegetarians, vegans, and people with many of the most common allergies will have problems with it. And that doesn't even count "regular" eaters who simply may not like one or more of the elements of the dessert.

To my knowledge, macarons are gluten free. I always ask first, but they typically are.LOL, ok, you got me there. Of course you're right. I guess my thoughts were more along the lines that, of all the most common accommodations that people may need, this dessert trio doesn't tick any of the boxes. I mean, how hard should it be to make a dessert vegetarian? (Disclaimer: I'm taking it on faith that the PP who mentioned gelatin in the grey stuff is correct.) Or maybe if you replace the macaron, you make the dessert safe for tree nut allergies and gluten-free. Something like that. Especially since it's a prix fixe menu that does have appetizer and entree options that meet many of these needs.
