Let's say worst case... what safety concerns should be known if stranded in Disney hotel room during the storm?
I'm also curious about the hoarding of supplies.
I was six months pregnant during a huge ice storm up here that had power out in large areas for literally weeks. I myself was without power for 11 days. Know what there was no shortage of within 12hrs after the storm passed? Food and water.
The hurricane, if it hits, is not going to last for days. It's going to last for hours. By the next day, cars and trucks should be able to be on the road (obviously I'm not talking about coastal areas which could flood, but middle of the state/Orlando) and stores will be full again.
its not pointless. I'm not telling anyone what they should do, nor what is safe and what is not. I'm simply presenting the current data for those who need to make a decision NOW regarding what information we have available to us. for those of us who can wait longer to change things, then today is irrelevant.
FYI nothing is updated in real-time. the best data comes out around 2am est and 2pm est. everything in between is a bit of a wash, and even the in between data updates every six hours
LATEST NHC
We are supposed to arrive in Orlando Friday morning and fly back to Chicago MOnday night..
I guess it's time to cancel, huh??/
As someone who is now leaving at 4 in the afternoon on Saturday this makes me feel good about my decision.
As someone who was leaving at 4 in the afternoon on Sunday, this makes me think I may have been able to pull it off.
Maybe, maybe not. That is simply a projection and remember that the plot of the hurricane is intended to be the location of the eye only. The storm wraps around the eye for up to 100-200 miles, so if that projection is correct, 4pm Sunday would have been dicey at best. Saturday at 4 is much more likely to be the better solution given that projection. Good luck.As someone who is now leaving at 4 in the afternoon on Saturday this makes me feel good about my decision.

Exactly. And power won't be restored or supplies restocked or stores reopened until that passes. Been through countless major storms & the worst part is always after the storm. All the hurricanes I've been in have not been over in hours. They do last for days, (the effects anyway) and there has been shortages of water and ice especially, for days. Depending on severity and clearing roads, deliveries have also been delayed of gas and other supplies. And, no, not from flooding, but wind.
LOL. Like I said, that's fine. Whatever makes you feel big and important. The point is, people can find this information without your help, and unless you plan on regurgitating this data every hour or 6 hours or whenever, you are not as helpful or useful as you think you are.

This is the only spaghetti image that anyone should be sharing, especially here :
