Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

If you want to be closer to the action, request a room in building 14 or 15. Since they are closer to everything, there is more foot traffic around those buildings, so they can be a bit noisier. Building 18 is a little farther from everything, and building 27 is farther than 18. ...

We stayed in 27, the farthest room from the food, and it was still not far. So don't fret, preferred is all great! We were pretty close to this little path that led to the main pool.
We did try to request close to the quiet pool and laundry, so if that is important to you, you may want to try a building 18 request. We didn't get our request, but you might!

So I've been keeping track of possible Free Dining and there's tons of speculation about what resorts will be included.
I'm going to cling to hope that my favorite resort would be included!

POR is just beautiful :lovestruc

What is the cup situation in the room? Glasses and mugs or plastic/disposable? If you make copy in the room do they give you the disposable cups with kids that you can take with you in the morning?

You get both - glasses for cold drinks, paper/polystyrene for hot drinks. No lids though, unless you get refillable mugs from the food court or with your dining package.

I'm guessing you typed that on a phone didn't you? But just in case you didn't, sorry there are no photocopiers in the rooms, and they don't provide children for you to take with you to the parks. :)

You
Ha! Yes! Sorry! And on the phone again so I'll double check the autocorrect this time.

Thanks for the info. We will have mugs but hate carrying them around the parks when we finish our morning coffee so looking to fill the mugs then transfer to something disposable. We'll just bring those and photocopiers with us from home.

Ok so we check in Monday!!

Just a few questions:
1. Can I fit a half gallon of milk in the fridge, or would I be better off with two quarts?

2. I'd like to maybe use a snack credit for breakfast. What kind of offerings do they have to fit that bill?

3. Can I get just hot water from the new style coffee pots? And do they offer teabags in-room, or do I need to snag some from the food court?

4. How far is the walk between the riverside and French quarter pools?

5. Is the food court the only drink refill location?

Thanks!!

Andre, is that a different coffee maker from what you posted a couple weeks ago?

1. Yes, a half gallon of milk and more will fit in the refrigerator.
2. You can use a snack credit for Oatmeal, fruit cup, bagels with cream cheese, muffins and other pastries, yogurt, banana, Apple, orange. See the complete menu at portorleans.org
3. Yes, you can get two cups of hot water at once. Not sure about tea bags, so tuck a few of your favorites in your suitcase just in case.
4. The walk between the feature pools at POFQ and POR would be just a bit over 10 minutes if you move right along (which is hard to do when you want to stop and take photos of all the beauty along the way)

1. Yes, in fact you can fit a gallon bottle in the fridge if you want.

2. Mostly bakery items, Make-Your-Own creations, and some grab'n'go fruit etc, see http://www.portorleans.org/riversidemill.php for details.

3. Yes, but it's not BOILING water if you want to make proper tea (a Brit writes). For tea bags, you'd need to either take some with you or get them from the food court cash desks.

4. From the Riverside marina area it's about a ten-minute walk to the FQ pool, but as there are six pools within Riverside the 'pool-to-pool' walking time would vary, up to a maximum of 15-20 minutes from the furthest one.

5. Yes. You can use either the POR or POFQ food courts to refill.

Nope, same type.

So are you saying we can walk over to POFQ for beignets one morning and still use our same dining plan mug from POR?? That would be fabulous!

Also, I did online check in yesterday and requested "near lobby" with no second choice. We really want AB section and are booked Garden View. What are our chances with only 4 in the room?

Yes, you can use your refillable mug at any WDW resort hotel for the duration of your stay in fact (but not in the theme parks or water parks).

If you've asked for "close to lobby" but you aren't actually booked as Preferred Location, they would most likely think of Magnolia Terrace first as that's pretty close via the footbridge over Ol' Man Island. If you specifically want Alligator Bayou, I would put that in as a written request by fax a few days before you arrive. Perhaps cite buildings 16 or 17 as examples.

This is what doesn't makes nosense to me I wold buy a fancy drink at the 7 to 10 range and probably more than one over the vacation. These prices are just too much in won't spend money on this. So instead of making some profit they will make none from.many guest because we just say no to these outrageous prices!
