Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Personally I'm just glad it has a Keurig instead of those pods. I think it's harder to get a sense of how it really looks through those pictures. It'll look a lot nicer in person or once some high quality photos get out.

Just wanted to chime in that we are staying at CSR for the first time in April - and thanks to this thread, I'm really excited. We are going at a tough time - Easter week - but my son will be performing with his HS Orchestra so I couldn't miss it. Though it's been <gulp> 11 years since we've been, at first I wanted to avoid the crowds totally - we were going to stay in Disney Springs at the Hilton Orlando BVP and do limited parks. But when I went to make dining reservations today, the pricing info that I had originally been playing around with popped up and I realized CSR was the same price as the Hilton. And just like that - we switched. I've definitely been one that has heard the "it's too big, it's far from everything" reviews but reading this thread, watching some videos....I think it might be the perfect resort for us. We arrive Sunday 4/9 and leave 4/14 <quick trip!> Of course I'm a little concerned about the refurbishments going on but not overly so. I believe my husband requested the Cabanas area. One thing I didn't realize, though, is that there are no balconies <slight bummer> so I'm wondering why we are paying for a waterview...?

Regardless, now I have 3 months to bring myself up to speed on this resort! I've known about this trip for months but I guess thinking we'd be staying offsite had me dragging my feet in planning - one phone call and I'm so excited to get going!

Cabanas is nice. A short walk to the Dig Site pool and to El Centro. Plus the pretty beach out front, and nifty hammocks on the beach. We stay preferred in Casitas, but we love to take romantic strolls over to Cabanas at night and sit on a bench by the beach under the stars. You'll love it!

Thank you! I'm sure my husband picked it only based on it's proximity to the pool <and pool bar! :) > So we definitely like hearing about what everyone likes about the other areas!

You're welcome. Know that the pool bar also does breakfast and mug refills, and serves food throughout the day, so that's some very useful proximity!

I never bothered to pay for a "view" at moderates either--THEN we did a last minute trip a couple years ago and the only rooms available at CSR (at our discount rate) were the water view. We got a room in Casitas 4 and I have to say that I really did appreciate that the first thing we saw as we walked out of our room was a gorgeous view of the lake! Also, at night the Star Wars fireworks set off and it was perfect to just step outside the door and watch. :)

I was in Cabanas my last trip (I think it was like 8B, it was right next to the quiet pool) and thought the location was great. My view was the parking lot but I never even open the shades when I'm in a moderate so that was no big deal. I don't pay for a view anywhere I stay, even the deluxe resorts but especially in the moderate resorts nor do I pay for preferred in the moderate. I found CSR to not be any bigger than any of the other moderate resorts, I got up every morning and walked the resort and had to do a double lap to get a half hour in. It's real close to Epcot and HS, the bus ride can't be more than 5 min. if that. I'm actually doing a split stay with CSR and BWI, both of which are under renovations but I've stayed at other resorts under renovations before and never even really noticed it.

I'm a long time 'reader' to DisBoards but I have a question that I can't seem to find a clear answer on. What type of coffee makers are in the preferred rooms? We have 7 coffee addicts so I have a feeling that whatever is provided in room will run out quick. Thanks!!!

I think the coffee pots are the same in all the rooms, they are the pod kind. It looks like they are switching over to the Keurigs for the renovations. You can ask for more any time you want it.

We have a reservation for a water view room in late April. The last time we stayed at CSR we had a water view room and they put us on an upper floor of Casitas 4 with a GORGEOUS view of the lake.
1. Is there any estimate of when the the first buildings renovations will be done? I know they are starting with Ranchos--so if I request a Ranchos room (I know its not guaranteed!) is there a chance I would get a renovated room
2. Looking at the map, it doesn't appear that many parts of Ranchos are facing the lake. Is it safe to say that MOST of the "water view" rooms in the Ranchos section are of a pool, fountain, etc. and not the lake? Does anyone know of any photos of the "water view room" at Ranchos?

I loved the view and being able to see the HS fireworks from Casitas 4 so much--I'm not sure if I should request that (Yes, I know requests aren't guaranteed!) or if I should try to request my best chances of a renovated room.
Thank you!
