***Official February 2017 Thread***

We booked our trip last week - got a great deal on a DVC studio at Poly, from February 13 - 17th. So excited, as the Poly is our favorite resort!!! It will just be myself, my husband, and our 2-year old daughter. This will be her 4th trip to Disney and I am anticipating this trip to be the hardest, as the terrible two's have definitely arrived!! But we plan on just taking our time, seeing what we see, and making sure to just relax and enjoy being at the Poly! Will be at Epcot on 2/15 and MK on 2/16. My goal though is to arrive on 2/11 and book a 2 night stay somewhere cheaper, just because it kills me to have to wait until Monday when we are all home on the weekend and can arrive Saturday! Does anyone know of a memory maker share that I can join??

Sounds awesome! Do you mind if I ask if you rented points? I've considered adding a couple of days to our trip & would love to stay at Poly! I just assumed this late it would be a lost cause.

Yes I was able to rent points!! And got a great deal from someone on the boards for $10 per point. I pretty much just kept asking for whenever Poly was available, that's when I would go! Now I am trying to add on 2 nights as well! When are you going? When I checked last week, the week of the 5th had availability in a studio at poly but that could have changed...

We are going Feb 11-19. So if I added on days, it would be President's Day weekend/President's Day. :worried: Chances are very slim. I don't know how to rent from an individual? We've only ever rented from Dave's.

Yeah! Have you decided which parks you are doing which days. We'll be at MK the 9th and Epcot the 10th. I'm trying to talk the hubby into going to AK for half day before starting to drive home the 11th but doubt I'll get anywhere.
Not totally - and I realized this morning that I am days away from making fast passes and I need to get on the ball!

I'm planning on buying memory maker - how does a share work?

Made my FPs this morning (a day late) and got everything I wanted at the times I wanted (or close enough). I got FEA on 3 different days, so hopefully it will be running at least one of those times. And yes, Splash Mountain is open!! I got FPs for both of my MK afternoons.

I was disappointed, though: I did online check-in for POP but did not see "courtyard view" as a request option. I had seen it in screencaps here after a change earlier this year (when they were showing options for "guaranteed" connecting rooms and other things that made no sense), but it looks like they've gone back to the old choices. I requested 1970s, fingers crossed. I just don't want to be in the Wild Woods on the parking lot side of Bldg 1. (And I know I could call, but I don't want to.) I hope they text my room # on arrival day because I'm convinced I can find it right away even though I've never stayed there before.

59 days!

12 days until FP day! It's really starting to feel close! Our trip is convoluted, first half (Sat - Thurs) is with my ILs (MIL, FIL, SIL, her DH, and her two DSs) and second half is with friends (them, their two DDs, and their DMs). ILs have never been, friends have been many times. I'm the keeper of all the plans. I'm making all the FPs for ILs and bc I can start 4 days earlier than them, 2 days of FP for our friends. I've had a beautiful spreadsheet for months and months. I have suggested, mentioned, reaching begging & pleading with both groups to PLEASE look at youtube videos or let me know if there's anything specific you want... nothing. I suspect the ILs are going to spend a significant amount of time standing outside of Pirates, Splash, Thunder Mt, etc waiting for us. In theory, no big deal, they can get a snack, etc... in reality, the boys are likely to be, umm, not happy, when my (older) kids are off on fun stuff that they don't want to ride. As DH points out - that won't matter to us, because we'll be in line and on the ride during those "not happy" behaviors :D but, as uber-planner and ridiculous people-pleaser personality, I just desperately want their first trip to be as magical as possible (this is entirely impossible as they are not easy people and come with a lot more baggage than luggage).

Oh the Disney crazy.

Add me to the role call! :wave2: The fam and I will be at Pop Feb. 4-8. This will be our 2nd family trip and our first time at Pop. Fingers crossed for pleasant weather and lower crowds, but we will have a blast no matter what!

This post made me laugh! We are taking our first trip with family in Feb & they are letting me do ALL the planning. They have never been, but I have also asked them to do some of their own research & give me ideas of what they'd like or wouldn't like. NOTHING. They say whatever you choose will be fine with us. I've never had this much trouble planning a trip! How do you predict ahead of time what 5 people (all different personalities) will want to do at a place they've never been? It is stressing me out! :( I'm supposed to make FP in less than a week! They will be at CBR & we will be at BWV...so yaaaay for being able to take a break at our fabulous resort if we need it! :lovestruc Good luck!

Oof. Good luck and godspeed to both of you! Planning your own trip is hard enough. Planning someone else's WITH their input is doubly hard. But planning it without their input? Count me out! You just know who's going to get the blame if it doesn't live up to their expectations.

Tomorrow my 60-day FP+ window opens up! I think I have everything picked out. My wife hates that we have to do so much planning ahead of time. While I tend to agree, I told her we only have to book three attractions per day ahead of time, and maybe a meal or two (we mostly do QS meals). The rest of the time, we can fly by the seat of our pants.

Luckily - my DH is behind me 100% and would actually rather we leave them behind as we do exactly what we want to do! He's told me that they are not allowed to ruin our trip and if they're an issue, they're being abandoned!

Hello there!! My name is Linda. OK, so DH  completely surprised me this week by telling me he's taking me to Disney for my 50th Birthday - which is in Feb! First, I will just say at this point I'm SUPER excited because: Yay! Disney for my Birthday :hyper: and SUPER panicked because: OMGosh! plan a dream trip in just TWO MONTHS!? :scared: I've been 6 times, and have plannned 5 of those trips (from at least a year out!). I can do this. Of course, now my brain will think of nothing else and DH is not a planner and only wants to know the dates of travel.... (2/19-2/25)

Hotel/Travel: So this trip will HAVE to be a budget trip, but I'm not complaining! I'm going to Disney for my Birthday!! Even though we usually stay on property, I've already booked a Disney Springs hotel. Now, I'm trying to decide between driving and flying. I'm checking flights every day this week.... We've never flown since we have 3 kids and usually had 1-2 extra with us and/or other family/friends with us - and some of those trips were high school band trips. But since this will just be DH and me, I'm thinking we might can swing it, even on short notice.... (I should note here that it's a 17-hour drive for us.) yeah.

Tickets: I "think" I'm just going to get 2-day Hopper.... With this trip, I'm really wanting to do some of the other Disney things I've only read about, never having any real leisure time to explore and perhaps go have afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. And of course, there's the "other" place up the street that I'm really wanting to explore also. :rolleyes1

Anyway, this is about as far as I've gotten... Thankfully, I work at a public school district and am about to be off for a few weeks... I'm looking for some fun and different things to do on this trip and really need to decide where I want to spend The Day! SO many decisions - so little time!!

Karly, I'm happy to hear that FP selections worked so well for you! I'm doing mine on Monday morning. I have a game plan of what I'll be looking for, but am nervous because I've never done it. Did you use MDE app or the website? Any tips you can offer a newbie?

Does anyone know how wet you get on Splash? Looks like it might be open (hopefully?) during my trip. I've never been on it, so I don't know what to expect about the...well...splash.
