~~October 2016~~Sew, it was the greatest Stitch Experience ever!~~Final Update 3/19/2017!

Thanks so much for adding me to those groups -- they're now showing up in my FB feed. :-) No, the Christmas tree is not up yet, and neither are any other decorations. My husband's basketball schedule is interfering. LOL Looks like it will be Saturday. I teach piano tonight and my husband has basketball games tonight so tonight is out, but I think I'll be able to start putting the smaller things up tomorrow after work since no one else will be home tomorrow night. I'm torn between starting to decorate for Christmas and finishing up the heavy duty cleaning on the main floor of the house since I only have 15 days before Alyssa and Andrew come for Christmas....yikes!!! So much to do and so little time!

I love the pillows you made -- what a great idea! I need to start watching for fabric backed placements in the color scheme I want so I can make some for our home.

I'm sorry that your TL at Target is leaving. It's hard when things like that happen. We're currently considering a major career move for me and it would mean moving away...which is not entirely a bad thing...but I work with some really wonderful people right now and my current team lead and division supervisor are great...it would be hard to leave them, especially since they've done so much for me since I joined the team a year and a half ago. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Good luck with your shopping today!

I think you are so clever. I never would have thought to use place mats for pillows. They look great! Also your nativity is beautiful in a lantern. I have my Mom's old set and I love it. When my Grandma died she took hers and gave me her old one as my Grandma's was in better shape. She was just going to give it away but decided to ask me first. I did start my decorating yesterday and put up my 4' Disney tree so my grandkids can decorate it Sat. They used to help with my big tree, but find my little Disney tree is more fun now. Each year I buy an ornament at Disney World and also get 1 or 2 from Hallmark.

Unfortunately this is the year of repairs and they couldn't come at a worse time. About 3 weeks we had to get a new water softener for $1200. Then my husband took his car in for 50,000 mile maintenance and it was $580! Yesterday we had to fix our water heater as the water smelled, $615. It is only 5 years old and the plumber says it's something he doesn't see very often and usually in homes with wells. My brother-in-law had to buy a new vacuum, dishwasher, computer and new roof this fall. He asked me if we're trying to keep up, LOL. They have decided not to do presents this year. I don't think my grandkids would like that idea.

I haven't been to MOA in years. I used to shop there with my mom and sisters for a Christmas shopping get together. We eventually gave it up when my sister moved and it was getting too hard for my mom. We tried smaller malls for a while and then gave it up all together. Now I shop Black Friday with my daughter and then get most of my gifts from Amazon. It's just too convenient and their customer service is the best. I recently ordered the Harry Potter film collection. I got 3 separate orders the same day so I called. The lady couldn't stop giggling when I told her. After verifying I wasn't charged she told me to keep them! They were $35 each, regularly $55 but the deal of the day. Have fun shopping!

How sad that your favorite Team lead at Target is leaving Target. How nice that you are now friends on Facebook and can keep in touch that way :)

You are so lucky that you are good with the sewing machine and can make a new pillow cases so you can buy cheap pillows and just use the filling. It's a great way to save some money :)

the pillows came out awesome and i really do love all your decorations!
I have ONE person done with shopping, my step dad and i only ordered his stuff today.. That's IT nothing nada!

Your throw pillows are really cute. the house looks really nice all decorated for Christmas. I haven't even started inside yet. I'm afraid the cats will destroy almost everything. I did put up Minnie and Mickie outside. One of his ears flops down. My neighbors really know how to decorate so mine look really sad.
Sorry your TL is leaving. Is that the equivalent to an assistant or a department manager? I wish we could have our old assistant back she was really great. She has clothing now.
Have fun shopping

Hey D ~ Rarely comment, but I love your TR's! Have you thought about starting a thread in the "Wish" section when you are without a PTR or TR to write? People use it for weight loss, so your diet/everyday updates would work there, just a thought!!

Like I already said on FB, I love the pillows! The patterns are so nice and work of well together.::yes::

Enjoy MOA - good luck with Christmas shopping!

I know that feeling!!! Glad it's over - you will love it when it's done... It's so difficult and stressful living in a home while it's being remodeled... I was so thrilled to go through my entire house when we were done and CLEAN it from floor to ceiling. ::yes::
It is stressful in ways that I never expected it to be. On the bright side we have been dumping tons of stuff into the dumpster in front of the house. The basement never looked so good. I went through all my quilt fabrics and packed them in nice boxes, instead of in baskets and bins. Looking at those fabrics brought back a lot of memories. And then less than a week after putting the fabric on the shelf I had to dig through it to find a fabric that came close to matching one of my husband's shirts. When a button came off it ripped a hole in the fabric and you can't sew a button over a hole. ;)

Hey D - following along as usual. Hope you enjoyed your day with your cousin! I have done very, very little shopping. It gets so hard the older your kiddos get, and I don't have a clue what to get some people on my list. I am going to have to make a day of it and just wander around.

No decorating here yet. We are supposed to have yucky weather this weekend so I have convinced DH to get the tree box out to have something to do indoors. I am usually the only one who puts the lights on, and usually Shane and Tyler help a little with the ornaments. Just Shane this year, so I don't know about the help department:) I am enjoying all of your decorations - you are so talented! Love the throw pillows.

Can you believe I am a Walking Dead fan? Not usually my genre but I got hooked early on and now Shane and I watch it off the DVR when we can.

Yes, I have looked on Ebay and everywhere for my nativity. It's so strange that I cannot find anything about it, and no replacement pieces. It came from a store only in Houston, which closed long ago. So frustrating.

Can't wait for the next update D!

Always hugs, always prayers. Take care!!!

Beware! Those groups are way more addicting than Pinterest... I can sit on them for hours every night and scroll through the photos of the day... It's so bad, that I don't allow myself on there until after dinner. LOL Otherwise I would get nothing done all day long. ::yes::

Yikes - can you clean as you go??? Heavy duty clean in one room, deorate and move on to the next? :scratchin I know, for me, I don't like to decorate in a messy room, so it has to be clean before I can make it look pretty. LOL

Thanks!! They have tons of them at Target right now... I can see where this is going to get bad for me. LOL

Yes - it is a bummer, but they never stay forever... I just didn't expect her to leave so soon. ::yes:: I hope you are able to make a smart decision for you and your family about your move - it's never easy.

Thanks - it was fun! :woohoo:

Hahaha... Thank you - I wish it was my idea to make the placemats into pillows - but it really wasn't. I love them though and they are so much more economical than purchasing decor pillows. ::yes::

Awwwh - your tree sounds like a lot of fun... I wish I would have had the ambition to decorate the porch tree... I guess I am glad I didn't now though - as I have come home twice now to find it totally knocked over... ::yes::

Oh no!!! I sure hope that is the last of the repairs for all of you! That is terrible!!!!

We realized yesterday that we really don't go there to shop anymore... When the girls were smaller - we spent all of our time (and $$) in American Girl and Lego... Now we just meet up, go to a couple of stores and have lunch - we don't do much shopping at all, but it's fun and we love to do it. :lovestruc

That is awesome that they did that for you!!! I love online shopping - I do a lot of it, and it's so convenient! That turned out to be a really awesome deal of the day! :woohoo:

How sad that your favorite Team lead at Target is leaving Target. How nice that you are now friends on Facebook and can keep in touch that way

You are so lucky that you are good with the sewing machine and can make a new pillow cases so you can buy cheap pillows and just use the filling. It's a great way to save some money

Yes - at least we will stay in touch. :)

I am pretty excited about it, it sure makes decorating easier for me, and opens up a whole new world of what's available. ::yes::

the pillows came out awesome and i really do love all your decorations!
I have ONE person done with shopping, my step dad and i only ordered his stuff today.. That's IT nothing nada!

Thanks! LOL I have no one done - except the Littles in the Netherlands... I was done with them long ago - yet I still keep shopping - I need to stop. I have Josh stopping at The Disney Store on his lunch today - because after I got home, I was kicking myself that I didn't get the cute Chewbacca PJs for Thomas while I was there. ::yes:: I've been looking everywhere for Chewbacca PJs for him that don't have feet! LOL

I have 2 small gifts for the girls and that's it... I may just be wrapping various amounts of cash for the girls to open? :scratchin

Your throw pillows are really cute. the house looks really nice all decorated for Christmas. I haven't even started inside yet. I'm afraid the cats will destroy almost everything. Thanks! I am loving it all decorated - there is nothing more homey than all of the lights on at night... Makes everything so beautiful! Just like Disney at night - ahhh - it's the best! ::yes::

I bet yours look great - and it's the whole spirit that matters!!! :lovestruc

Yes - I guess she would be the equivalent to an asst. mgr? Target has a Store Team Lead who is in charge of the store... Then below the STL is the ETLs - Executive Team Leads, and typically we have 2 or 3 of them in our store at one time - she is one of them. ::yes:: So, yes, prob the same as your Asst. Mgr? :scratchin

Thanks! It was a lot of fun - we had a great time together - and maybe too much fun? :scratchin LOL

Hey D ~ Rarely comment, but I love your TR's! Have you thought about starting a thread in the "Wish" section when you are without a PTR or TR to write? People use it for weight loss, so your diet/everyday updates would work there, just a thought!!

Hi!!! Welcome! I have not thought about doing that... That is a good idea though and something I will keep in mind. :) Thanks so much for reminding me of that area - I rarely ever leave the TR section of the Dis. LOL

Like I already said on FB, I love the pillows! The patterns are so nice and work of well together.::yes::

Enjoy MOA - good luck with Christmas shopping!

Thanks!!! I really love them too! :lovestruc

Exactly - I don't think there is anything worse than living in a house when it's being remodeled - except maybe when the remodel is at a standstill for unforeseen reasons. Sending you big hugs that the rest goes smoothly and quickly!

LOL about getting the rest of the house decluttered. Every spring Josh and I talk about renting a dumpster just to declutter - but we have yet to do so... We need to do it before the girls move out, so we have their help. LOL

Awesome about getting your fabric all organized too - that's always nice! I need to do mine too - it's getting out of hand. I usually have to do it about once every 6 months... It's getting close to that now. LOL

Have a great trip and a safe trip!!! Enjoy every moment of the magic!!! :lovestruc

I totally agree - each year it gets harder and harder to shop for the girls... I am tempted to wrap up a bunch of $20 bills this year and call it good. LOL I miss the days where I could walk into the American Girl store and come out with a huge pile of FUN for under the tree - those were magical years for sure! :lovestruc

I hope you are able to get your tree done this weekend and that Shane is super helpful!!! It will look great, I just know it! :lovestruc

Seriously??? That is so shocking to me - LOL... It's too gory for me, I really can't watch it. TWD is something that Josh and the girls watch avidly - I don't mind. LOL

I looked on Ebay the other night for the set my parents had, and I couldn't find it either... It's things like that, which were lost long ago, that I wish my dad had held on to... Oh well... I have to remind myself often that I cannot buy my childhood back and I need to be content and happy with my memories. :lovestruc I hope that one day - you are able to find the missing pieces to your nativity.

ACK!!! I am hoping to get another update done today - I've been trying all week without much success... I am finding, with my schedule lately - it's easiest to update on the weekends. Sigh.

Have a great weekend Carol!!! It's always great to see you here! :lovestruc

********************************************************************************************************

Well, I worked out right away yesterday morning...

Then I rushed to get ready for the MOA as Allison was getting ready for school... She informed me that none of the other girls would be there, so she was just going to sit there all day by herself... She decided to go with me to the MOA instead. Not sure if I agreed/disagreed with her decision - but I was happy to have her with us... I don't get to spend much one on one time with her these days.

Screenshot_2016-12-01-10-24-45.png

On the way to the MOA - Allison talked about taking a quick WDW trip in July... :lovestruc We'll see...

We met up with my cousin and my Aunt... We all talked about how we don't really do this for shopping - we just do it to meet up for an hour or two and have lunch together - we don't get much shopping done anymore.

This year - the MOA had some giant toy displays around the mall... We found a few of them and had a great time acting like children... The giant View Master was really difficult to climb up on to, as it was tall and slanted, plus slippery... And we thought for sure the mall police would show up and kick us out - LOL.... As the MOA is always under intense video surveillance in every corner at every second... Thankfully no one showed up to ask us to leave. ::yes::

20161201_110433.jpg

The only store I purchased something in was the Crocs store... I found a pair of little yellow Crocs for Thomas - with little Star Wars Jibbits... They were so cute. Allison assured me that Thomas may wear them, as Brian wears his at home all of the time. I thought I'd give it a try.

However - I was really kicking myself when I got home, as I have been searching all season for a pair of Chewbacca PJs for Thomas without feet... They had some at TDS, and I didn't buy them. Josh offered to run over to TDS on his lunch break today and grab them for me. I am so excited, I wish I would have got them yesterday... Oh well.

I did think of LIllian when I saw her Castle display at the Lego store - and how much fun she is going to have putting this beast together! ::yes:: The back is so detailed and fun - I cannot wait to see this done Lillian - I know you will show me! :woohoo:

20161201_115045.jpg

We all had lunch at Panera Bread - we broke tradition, as we usually have lunch at Bubba Gump - but their soup just sounded delicious to all of us. ::yes:: One of my other aunts drove down and met us for lunch... It was so fun catching up with all of them, as we didn't have much of a chance to chat at the wedding a few weeks ago.

Allison and I had to leave the mall earlier than the rest of them, as we had to pick up V from school and get her to work. We had a great time together though and it was so fun spending the day with everyone! This is something that I look forward to every year. :lovestruc

That's about all - Josh and I sat around lazy all night... The girls worked.

Today... I will be doing my heavy lifting shortly...

Then I will be working upstairs this morning - hoping to finish this week's order.

I have to run to town and pick V up early from school for an appointment.

I have to stop at Walmart in another town to pick up an online order - I hate going to this particular Walmart, and avoid it at all costs - but it was the only one which had this item available for pick up. Wish me luck. LOL

Josh and I are having dinner at V's work tonight - she offered to get us her discount, and she has a very short shift - so it doesn't make any sense for us to drop her off and go back home, we might as well wait and eat there.

Not sure what our plans are for the weekend - I will likely work a little bit... I have a few things I'd like to get done. For the most part, it will be a lazy weekend though. ::yes:: Look for a few TR updates here. :lovestruc

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend - sending prayers and pixie dust out to all of you!

D~

i miss your mall! It is a lot of fun!!

remember to buy it a size bigger as the PJ pals tend to run small

Yes - definitely doing that... He is wearing a 2T in clothes, they typically buy him a 3T in PJs, but I instructed Josh to buy these in a 4, because those arms are sooooo skinny on those PJs. ::yes:: Thanks for the reminder Mo! :lovestruc

D~

I haven't been to the MOA this season but it looks like you all had a great time. I love all the decorations. I used to go to the MOA more often with my daughter, but she got married last year and moved to Idaho. I definitely miss her.

We have the Lego castle, but haven't even opened the box up yet. We had intentions of turning my son's room into an office/Lego room after he left for boot camp, but I've just not had the heart to touch anything in there yet....so the Lego castle will have to wait.

Isn't MOA the mall with the coaster?

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at MOA. I'm glad you didn't get kicked out of there when you climbed on the View Master.

The picture of the Lego Disney Castle looks great. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Good luck picking up your stuff at Walmart today.

Yesterday a shoe shop in town advertised on Facebook that they would have some icebug shoes at 15% off from Thursday to Saturday this week. The shoes has the same type of spikes under the shoes as the spikes we have on our car tires. So they are supposed to give you a good grip on the ice. I decided to go to the shop and get a pair of shoes because I'm not that comfortable with the spikes you can take on and off regular shoes. You can read more about the shoes here if you want http://icebug.com/us/products/moss-l-bugrip-2/ I ended up buying these shoes.

. That just leaves Penn State that she says is too big-they don't send out acceptance letters until Jan. !

Please don't discount Penn State just because of size (disclosure proud alumni). I graduated from a very small high school (just 100 in my class) and went right on to Main Campus no problem. The colleges within the university tend to be close-knit and the vast amount of clubs available make it easy to connect with people with the same interests as you. The opportunities available to undergrads to work in research are great and the vast alumni network is a plus when searching for internships and jobs. I know you have to feel comfortable where you are, but I wouldn't want the size to be the reason. Besides, I think everyone gets frustrated/homesick/sad/says "i hate school" at some point even if you are somewhere you love. No place is home, and those four years are a transition to adulthood. Not an easy thing to navigate. I remind the students I work with that someone may offer them a job someday in a town that is bigger then here, or in a large company, would they not accept it just because it is outside their comfort zone? You make your path your own by what you put into it. Good luck, I remember the wait. I was lucky, at the time Penn State had rolling enrollment, so you found out about 4 weeks after you applied. I waited until March for Cornell.

On the way to the MOA - Allison talked about taking a quick WDW trip in July... :lovestruc We'll see...

I saw this and got excited for you all...keep us posted if it's a go!;)

All the pictures from MOA with your aunts looked great. Those blown up toys are so fun and a perfect Christmas display.

Gosh, that Lego castle is huge. I am tempted to buy it and then pay my brother to put it together...maybe one day... It would just look so nice!

I am so glad you had a good shopping day with your family. It is hard not to get homesick during this time of year and missing spending those fun outings with family and friends. Btw-I love Allison's top/wrap that she is wearing in the mall pics! I hope the rest of your week is as enjoyable.
It has been a busy and tiring week here. Emma has had cheerleading or gymnastics every night this week. And Quinn has decided that she doesn't want to sleep through the night this week, so my sleep has been off too. Anyway, I have been able to read the W30 book while I put her back to sleep, so silver lining, I guess. I would love to join the W30 FB group as long as it's ok that we are not starting right away. I'm kinda scared. I have visions of Jillian Micheals yelling at me for not checking my labels and stuff.
I hope you have a great weekend & I am looking forward to a trip update!

I haven't been to the MOA this season but it looks like you all had a great time. I love all the decorations. I used to go to the MOA more often with my daughter, but she got married last year and moved to Idaho. I definitely miss her.

We did have a good time... We only accomplished 2/3 of the 1st floor and lunch - but it was fun... We didn't really have anything we needed - we were just there to have fun...

Awwwwh... I bet you do miss her - especially this time of year... Will you get to see her for the holidays? I dread the day that my girls move away to start their own lives - I pray they stay close to me. :lovestruc Sending hugs!!!

We have the Lego castle, but haven't even opened the box up yet. We had intentions of turning my son's room into an office/Lego room after he left for boot camp, but I've just not had the heart to touch anything in there yet....so the Lego castle will have to wait.

Yikes!!! That thing is huge - you are going to have so much fun putting it together... It would be awesome if Lego did all of the park icons... Can you imagine doing the ToL??? LOL  I totally understand... I dream of turning the girls' rooms in to guest rooms - Allison's especially... But it will be difficult for me to do and will likely take me years to find the courage to let go of that part of my life. ::yes:: Sending you hugs!

Yes - they have a couple of roller costers in there... In the picture of us sitting on the View Finder - you can see the ferris wheel behind us. :)

Sounds like you had a lot of fun at MOA. I'm glad you didn't get kicked out of there when you climbed on the View Master.

We had a lot of fun... I know - I was telling Allison, while we were sitting up there, to hurry up and take the picture... I was expecting the police (they have their own dedicated police force) to swoop down on us middle-aged women and escort us out. LOL

How long do you think the Castle will take to get there?

Those are neat - I can totally see where they would be much easier than the slip on shoe cover things you typically wear. Are they comfortable?

I don't know... She is already talking about an Iphone... So, I doubt it's going to happen. But I am touched that she would ever even think of taking me... Maybe one day - when she is done with college... She is already talking about taking more classes after she is done with Cosmetology school - she still has her heart set on interior design too... I foresee lots of college in her future - as I am certain that cosmetology school was just something to do until she decided what she really wanted to do... She is a little like her mom - she can't be idle long. :scratchin

We had a lot of fun! The first one I saw was the wagon - I just had to climb in! LOL

It is huge - and really cool! I think everyone here needs one! ::yes::

It was a great day... Oh gosh - I didn't even think of that... Sending lots of hugs during this time of year. :grouphug: I hope that you have a few traditions that you can carry through over there to make this a special time of year. :lovestruc

She found that at Target last year - they have a few different ones this year... I think it's cute too - I've worn it a few times, on warmer winter days - as it's impossible to wear with a coat. ::yes::

Wow!!! It does sound like you've been keeping yourself busy! I miss those days so much!

I will add you... It's a Whole30 first timers group - they are very strict about following every recommendation in the book though and aren't afraid to call people out on it - so just be aware... I'd spend some time there reading. ::yes:: And believe me - these people are very knowledgeable, I've learned a lot from them with each W30 I've done... And it's totally OK to be there and lurk while you are not doing a W30, just don't post any pictures of non-compliant food... It won't be pretty. LOL :) I'll get you added right now! :)

Thanks!!! Same to you - I am planning to do a trip update this morning. :lovestruc It's all ready to go - I just have to post pictures. ::yes::

What?! A possible July trip?!! :hyper2:

Well - we will see??? :scratchin She is already talking about an Iphone... ::yes:: I am just happy that she thought to do something like that for me... One day - I am sure we will go together again. :lovestruc

*********************************************************************************************************

Well, yesterday I lifted weights - I missed "squat day" last week because of Thanksgiving... So, I am feeling it this morning in my thighs - which is always a good reminder to me that it is working. ::yes::

After - I went straight upstairs to finish up last week's order... I still have a few things I'd like to work on up there this weekend too. :scratchin

Then I got ready and went to town... First things first, Chipotle for lunch... I splurged a little bit yesterday and added a bit of sour cream to my bowl - I've been trying to be extra good the last few weeks and I haven't had that on there for a while now... It was pretty tasty. ::yes::

I ran to Target and got Starbucks for the girls and I... I delivered Allison's to her at school... Then I gave V's to her when I picked her up. They enjoyed their mid-day treat. :lovestruc

V and I went to Walmart - picking up my items was a breeze... V even found a Christmas gift for her dad. Oh - I got one for him earlier in the day too (not at Walmart).

We went to her appointment...

Then we came home, grabbed Josh, dropped V off at work and she made us a delicious pizza for dinner... We saved some for her - so she could have dinner too. We were going to wait there for her to get off of work - but by the time we were done eating, she still had an hour of her shift left, so we just went home.

I picked V up later and we went to Target - I had to exchange something I had purchased earlier in the day - as the Cartwheel expired last night and what I needed to exchange with was a totally different item. :scratchin

We came home and all went to bed.

Today - I have no real plans... I am going to do an update here shortly. I might work in my sewing room for a little bit. V mentioned going to see Moana - so I think we might do that later? :scratchin That's about it. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Sending prayers and pixie dust to all of you!

D~
