Rivers of Light --- Almost Ready for Prime Time

Status
Not open for further replies.

I am staying at animal kingdom lodge right now, and while we can hear and see the star wars show at 8 pm, we haven't heard rivers of light rehearsals.

Any guesses at the time it would be shown?
We will be there 12/17

I was curious about this as well. We are going to be back in April and I am wondering how to schedule the nights to make sure we can see each show at least once. Park hours for AK right now in April have the park closing at 7pm so I am also wondering if once ROL is officially on the roster list, if those hours may change to accommodate a 7pm or 8pm show or maybe a second show each night (like they did with the Jungle book).

There's a rumour circulating that Destination D visitors will get to see the first showing of Rivers of Light on the Sunday. It fits in with the rest of the programme.

Let's hope it's the beginning of nighttime fun at AK.

We arrive the Thursday before so have everything crossed!

We arrive this Sunday for 2 weeks. Keeping our fingers crossed that we get to see this.

Thanks,
Linda

Where did you hear that rumor?

I have speculated here and in another thread, but I am just a guest speculating. I would LOVE some corroboration of my theory. The program for that day (Nov. 20) was announced yesterday. It's all about Pandora that morning with appearances by James Cameron and Joe Rohde, then the late afternoon session focuses on AK in 2 parts - with another appearance by Joe Rohde. Program at the CR ends at 6pm.

"8 p.m. — In-Park Gathering (Optional)
Walt Disney World Resort theme park admission required.
Details forthcoming.

9:30 p.m. — Conclusion of Destination D’s amazing adventures."

And there is this little tease further down the page: "Please keep in mind, we have a special evening activity planned for Sunday, November 20 that attendees won’t want to miss. Stay tuned for updates."

So, if one were to be booking FPs and considering transportation and getting a bite to eat, what time would one speculate the show to begin? Sunset is at 5:30 on 11/20.

I would have Thought it would start after Park closing exclusively for Destination D guests

Park closing is currently 7:30. The "event" starts at 8pm. So that makes sense. Too bad we have to provide park admission anyway.

The rumor is from WDWNT. It's just speculation.

It's pretty screwed up that they're requiring park admission for an event that occurs after the park closes and which is in conjunction with a Disney sponsored event for which you've already paid to attend.

Apparently they have changed their minds. Less than 24 hours later they have redacted the line that says theme park admission required.
"8 p.m. — In-Park Gathering (Optional)
Walt Disney World Resort theme park admission required.(strikethrough doesn't translate)
Walt Disney World Resort theme park admission NOT required.
Details forthcoming."

It's gotta be Rivers of Light then. AK would be closed, thus not requiring a ticket.

My AK days are 11/1 and 11/4. Does it look like ROL will be happening then? If so, any idea what time? Thanks in advance.
I don't know any specific dates but rivers of light has been going through rehearsals pretty much daily and should be debuting soon. It's grand opening has been said for mid November but soft openings should come before that.
