Code watch January 2017

Really strange - I just made a Visa reservation and changed a rack rate reservation to a Visa reservation. Both only allow "cancel" online with no option to "change." Boo.
This is weird. I have the option to change and can price other options although it's very tedious.

I called this morning. I was on the phone about an hour. I had a standard room booked at Pop Century. I'm going January 14th-22nd. They said the discount wasn't available for me at Pop Century but something was available at All Star Sports which saved me $414 from my original booking with Pop Century. I was really bummed I couldn't get it at Pop but it's to much of a discount to not move to All Star Sports. I was trying to avoid the All Stars as the busses can be frustrating but if they get that bad I'll prolly just uber back from the parks lol.

So.....has anyone without a Disney Visa card actually gotten the discount? I fibbed on the MDE chat that I was a Visa holder, she told me my resort/room was eligible but of course have to call in. I don't normally fib....but I think someone mentioned here that fibbing to get a cheaper rate at Disney isn't really lying....:)

I'm reading more and more...is this strictly for people that have room and dining? We don't do dining....hoping for a room discount. We do have Magic My Way tickets but no dining.

Is this the SPD package with dining? How many nights? How many adults & children & ages? I'm trying to calculate savings % at values.

So agree regarding Christmas and the gifts for teens. Always fun to find a travel-related gift for teens. We also have three boys - 17, 16 and 9. At least the teenagers can enjoy a couple more years of "helping" their little brother play with his toys on Christmas morning. :)
.

And my teen boys love their little brother more at WDW than anywhere else. They argue over who gets to ride with him, LOL. I think it gives them a great excuse to act like little kids and love things like Peter Pan's Flight and meet characters :)

I THINK it is the difference between the RO and the Package. :( makes me want to change to a package but i am worried about needing to change the last night of our trip.

8 nights two adults. I checked Pop either sold out of the deal or it's just not available for when I'm going January 14th-22nd. With no discount at All Star Sports or Music the price is $2869.34 with discount I'm paying $2572. My package includes 1 standard room 2 adults 2 7 day non park hopper tickets and 2 Disney dining plans. And yes this is the SPD discount with Visa

My experience wasn't much better......we have a package for 7 nights at the Riverside in a preferred room...with NO dining plan. I called this morning and the CM gave me a discount of $132 and told me I had the dining plan added to my account. Something didn't seem right. I asked her again and she confirmed it. But I went back in myself and noticed she picked a Visa winter offer...which is just a flat discount I guess...but while on there I noticed there was another option on my reservation for stay/play/dine...so I clicked on that and got it. It had me add dining. It made our price go up to add dining, but not as much as full price dining. We saved 636 off what the total price would have been. We did not have to change rooms because we already have a preferred room.

Awesome info - looks like 40% off dining is the deal for values. Thanks so much for the thorough response.

Okay, can someone help me think this through...I have a headache and just can't get my mind wrapped around this. I already had reservations Dec 31st through Jan 7th at Pop Century for 3 adults, no dining plan and original price was $2,302.86. I called and the CM ran the discounts. Due to discount starting on the 1st, we will have to book 2 reservations, a one night only on the 31st, which comes to $222.75, and Jan 1st - 7th with SPD with quick service is $2,601.78 for a total of 2824.53 for an increase of $521.67 over the original cost. But if I figure the quick service dining plan at $46 per adult x 3 adults x 6 nights = 828.00. If I subtract 45%, shouldn't the difference in the overall cost be closer to $455.00 not $521? I'm so confused....

I was just on the Disney visa web site, the offer is on there now. I was able to price the room only offer for myself. I didn't see the package offer but it might have been on there also.

Just booked Jan. 8-14 @ POR, King room, 5 day hoppers, DDP.
Rack rate $4137
Disney Visa SPD rate $3591
Translates to 45% off dining +/-.
Might change it around but I wanted to get the King room now.

I already have a MDE ressie for a room only (used Disney Visa for the deposit) at POP, but I don't see any Visa discount offered.

I'm not able to see the SPD like I did before on MDE. Very frustrating trying to see what else is available. Anyone know what is the Winter offer that is listed? Is that the room only price? It isn't clear from what I can see on the description of the offer on line.

Very frustrating! When I go into my ressie, booked at rack rate, it says no offers available.
In the past, any other offers showed up.

Yay! Thank you! After all the calls this morning, I can sort the rest out online!

And I can see the package offer, too, as long as I enter a minimum 3-night stay!

Wh
I had a rez for the garden wing and was just trying to get a discount on that. I want to play around with numbers online so I might just wait until Monday. I've also booked with undercover tourist before since they sometimes have rooms available that Disney site doesn't. I already have a magic band and wouldn't be upset if I can't get a dining plan so I might have to go that route.

What are your dates? I saw on another thread where someone got CR, standard view I think, for January 7-14 at $2070 room only. Not sure if that's a good deal or not???

What are the chances they have more rooms available at Pop once they release it to the public? Do they hold back rooms for the specials and once they release the public deals? I wasn't able to get Pop this morning and had to move to ASMusic. Would love to get back to Pop!
