2018 Watch: All 2018 Itineraries are announced as of May 11th, 2017!

Add us to the list for 2018, looking at June. I'm thinking Southern Caribbean but we are flexible. It'll be our first Disney cruise :flower:

Unless they change things radically, by early June only the Dream (3 and 4 night Bahamas) and the Fantasy (Eastern and Western Caribbean alternating weeks) will be out of Florida. Magic will probably be in Europe and Wonder will probably be in Alaska.

An onboard booking has a 10% deposit (for cruises of 7 nights and longer) instead of the usual 20%. A 10% reduction in cruise fare, and $100 onboard credit (cruises less than 7 nights) or $200 (7 night and longer cruises).

The 10% discount in fare only applies to non-Concierge cabin and non-blackout dates (blackout are usually around the Holidays).

Our next cruise is 12/23 out of Miami, but I'm looking for PC the beginning of 2018.
Anxious to see which port it leaves from and which ship! To book on opening day or wait and book onboard!

If by PC you mean Panama Canal (I first thought you meant Port Canaveral, but then why were you anxious to see which port it leaves from), then this should be the second release of new dates, which in recent years was in early spring (things can always change though...). You can book a placeholder on your cruise in December and then change that over into a booking once the itineraries were released.

If the cruise is released before you are on your cruise in December, I would always suggest to book it straight away. Once you are on the ship, you can try to "re-shop" your new booking, i.e. get a new reservation for that cruise with all the onboard booking benefits. Unfortunately the deposit cannot be transferred (in most cases) and you will have to cancel the other booking that you made previously - or have your travel agent cancel it if you booked with a TA.

How much you usually save on board by booking? cruising in Early October so if they open while we are on the ship....how would that work out? Just wondering if we love it on our first cruise which way would be the best way to go??

If they open while you are on the ship, you can book directly on the ship. I seem to remember that people reported that there was an announcement about it in the Navigators? So, keep an eye out for it! If the new itineraries are not out yet, you can always book a placeholder if you think you are likely to cruise again within the next 24 months. You put down a deposit of 250$ (which is refundable if you cancel the placeholder) and get the benefits of reduced deposit on cruises 7-night and longer, 10% reduction of cruise fare and an onboard credit for the new cruise ($100 for shorter cruises, $200 for cruises 7 night and more). The 10% off the cruise fare can be blocked out for holiday cruises and very new itineraries.

Im thinking about the September 2018 Magic Mediterranean cruise, Barcelona / France/ Italy/ Barcelona any idea when I should look out for release dates?

The summer cruises are usually releases some time in early spring. If the pattern of the recent years stays the same...

I'm waiting too, we did 3 nights on the dream last November and LOVED it!!
Looking for 7 nights hopefully, we need August though as I can't take the children out of school again
Is the weather ok in August or is it rainy?!?

Should be releasing dates through May of 2018 soon right? How long after that until the rest of 2018 releases? I don't remember when we booked the 2017 transatlantic but it felt like FOREVER waiting after the first set of dates was released! LOL

They didn't release the Fall 2017 until this past May (not the usual April). We booked on opening day -- 5/25. Don't know when summer 2017 was released.

I would love to take a cruise to Hawaii. Disney went in 2012 and 2015...do you think they might go again in 2018? We're going to book a place holder on the Dream in October ...hope DCL comes through!!

No way of knowing. I don't think the Hawaii cruises were that (monetarily) successful for DCL. So, hard to tell.

For anyone interested in when the previous release dates were, I did a little bit of research and this is what I found out so far. I am going to list the date on which the new itineraries where released, the first booking day for Gold and Platinum Castaway Club members would have been the day after the realease day and then one day after that the booking was opened for everyone else.

"Winter" means first cruise in the new year up to April/May (not including the transitioning cruises).
"Summer" means about May to August/September.
"Fall" means about September until the end of the year (ending with the last cruise starting in the old year).

It still is a bit of a work in progress and I will verify dates more specifically. I will also try to add on more historic dates.
My plan is to post it as a seperate thread that then is easy to refer to and I am planning on keeping it up to date as new release dates come.

Fall 2017 - May 24, 2016
Summer 2017 - April 12, 2016
Winter 2017 - October 6, 2015
Fall 2016 - May 18, 2015
Summer 2016 - March 24, 2015
Winter 2016 - October 28, 2014
Fall 2015 - May 19, 2014
Summer 2015 - March 25, 2014
Winter 2015 - November 12, 2013

These are the easy years, before that things were released in different batches and I still need to verify things better, but this is what I have so far:

revised itineraries Dream, Magic, Wonder (they had originally scheduled the ships very differently) for October to December 2014 - June 18, 2013
Dream/Fantasy September to December 2014, Magic/Wonder May to December 2014 - February 12, 2013
Dream/Fantasy January to August 2014, Magic/Wonder January to April 2014 - December 4, 2012
Magic/Wonder all 2013 - June 26, 2012

To me it seems that with the new ships arriving they had some scheduling difficulties at first, but now seem to have settled into a rhythm on releasing the itineraries for all the ships in three season batches.

So, looking at historic evidence from the 2015 through 2017 releases my guess (and that is all that it is!!!) would be the following:
Winter 2018: anytime between October 4, 2016 and November 15, 2016
Summer 2018: anytime between March 21, 2017 and April 11, 2017
Fall 2018: anytime between May 16, 2017 and May 23, 2017

Just an awesome amount of work. Thank you!

We are looking at either an April or May cruise. The May one is likely to be the 21st. Does anyone know if that date is likely to be in this next release or the summer one?

Thank you

Sorry I should have said, the Dream

Last year they released all May cruises for the Dream with the Winter cruises, so this could be very soon.

However, at some point the Dream will have to go into dry dock. She was in September 2015 last. So at some point by September 2018 she will need her next dry dock. The Fantasy is going into dry dock in early May 2017, so maybe the Dream would do a May dry dock as well? By May 21 the Fantasy will be out of dry dock if I see correctly, so you should be on the safe side...

You are AWESOME! Thank you.

I seem to remember DCL doing an unusually high number of posts on FB right before that last set were released. It seems like they are posting frequently the last week or so also, so I am hopeful it's soon.

I hope you're right. I'm excited to book March 2018.
