Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

page 650-651

We arrived home last night also after a ten night stay! So sad to leave, but we had an awesome trip. Agree the ice machines in the marketplace were never working anytime we were there. Also the lemonade working was hit or miss with our refillable mugs. Picked up all five mugs when we arrived and had them activated, four had an expiry date of August 31(14 days) while one had sept 14. Thought that was strange. Housekeeping was awesome and although we didn't have any towel animals like previous trips the housekeeper arranged the stuffed toys we already had in cute formations each day. Wished marketplace opened at 6:30 am as we were usually gone by 7 each day. Walked over to Boardwalk bakery several times since they did open at 6:30 and then would catch the bus from there. Took a mears van from BC to typhoon and that was great. Cost $13 with tip. We were there in 12 minutes. We had six people and needed one car seat. The back entrance to Epcot had everyone going through the metal detector every time we were there and they even sent my kids through it. I was confused as I thought kids didn't go through, but I guess they were just keeping security random. They had to entice my 2 year old with a sticker. I loved the park shopping app. Bought a bunch of stuff on that we were looking at in different stores. I was able to order all of it in one place and since the total was above $50 got the 10% off even though if I bought all the items separately at the different stores I wouldn't be able to do that. Then I had it sent to the marketplace to save the shipping. Picked it up next day! I did call for the bounceback offer for next year since I had the old offer in my room. We would have to get two rooms next year, they did not have any rooms at BC available for free dining this same week next year except deluxe club level. I don't think we could do concierge and free dining, way too much food. So we decided we will wait and see if room discounts come out next year. Now off to watch the three hours of video we took over 11 days!!! With goofy fruit snacks of course!!

Thanks for the great review, your live postings and your helpful info about the shopping app1!

Look forward to seeing you back again!

Hi all, we are about to end our 5 night stay here at the BC. We check out tomorrow and check into the Polynesian for another 5 days. We are in room 3610, which is very convenient to the Marketplace and pool area, we're pretty close to the elevators. The room and resort are very nice, pool area is great. We checked in on Wednesday and unfortunately our room wasn't ready until after 4pm, so we waited a few hours in the lobby, since we got here at 2. Tonight we had to wait 40 minutes for a bus to animal kingdom when we arrived to the bus stop at 3:35pm. We also had to wait 45 minutes for a bus back to the resort from the AK. People in line were really complaining with many of them leaving the line and going onto the Boardwalk/dolphin bus when it arrived. We saw 3 Carribbean beach buses and at least 2 buses come and leave to all of the resorts around pickup at AK. Don't know what was wrong today with the buses to/from AK for the beach club? We had a rental car before today, so I am not sure if the buses were really that good to the other areas. I also think the BC needs to expand it's food court (Marketplace). Today at lunchtime they had 2 women working for sandwiches/pizza at the Marketplace and the line got long. I just think for a deluxe resort they should have a bit of a better selection and a bigger area where people can get their food and leave. The line moved very slow. The resort itself is beautiful and in a great location. Thanks for the tip on room 1501. It was super helpful when we wanted to stay out of the sun/heat. The weather here this week has been absolutely great, hasn't gone over 90 and yesterday we were in epcot and the weather was great. Very surprised at how nice the weather has been.

Thank you for your review.

I know in the Villas you can request a clock and have no reason to think you can't do the same for the hotel. Call housekeeping.

That was the case, but recently a resort guest was told that there were no clocks in storage for the rooms. I don't know if that was a unique experience or new policy.

:confused3

We've had a very busy day today celebrating DDs 12th birthday. Breakfast at Cape May where DD was pleased to get a birthday cupcake and card, followed by a very full day at Magic Kingdom. When we left our room this morning another guest just along the corridor asked if the hotel had decorated for us. No - it's just us mad Brits (see the photo below).

We just missed a bus (there are no signs on the back of the bus as you approach them at the Convention Centre). The next bus had been to the Swolphin, picked us up at Yacht, went to Beach and filled up. We then went to Boardwalk and someone got off! This was at 9.40am.

We had dinner at Beasts Castle and DD managed to loose a tooth! She did get done celebratory grey stuff and a card from Belke and the Beast.

Now back in the room and we have a towel animal.

Thanks again for keeping us up to date about the bus situation.

Happy Birthday Paige!!!

party:

Nice to know there are still a few towel animals out in their natural habitat.

I'm sure this question is buried in this thread a bunch of times, but I'm having trouble weeding through the 650 pages today with very limited time I have available. Can someone give me quick advice?

We are staying 1 night at the YC on 9/12 standard view. It is solely a pool day and I have 3 kids 9, 7, and 4. Can anyone tell me what would be a "good" room request for standard with good access to stormalong bay but still decent room view?? We won't be in the room too much, but DH and I like to use the balcony to sit and relax after kiddos go to bed. I would like to call in our request soon.

Thanks so much!!!

:welcome: to the thread.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

I agree with other posters- a request of "near lobby elevator" is probably best for easy access to SAB.

There is a thread of sample views, by category, in the Resort Community Subforum. Search for Yacht Club Room Views, or you can find the link in Post 9 or Post 13 of this thread.

Thank you! I just called and made the request. We are very excited, even if it's just for one very short night. We will arrive around 1 pm, and planning to just be at SAB for the rest of the afternoon & evening and just eat by the pool. The next morning we head to the parks and switch hotels. So about as short of a stay as you can get. But, we are still looking forward to it!

Make sure you have all you need (including sunscreen) for SAB. Your room likely will not be ready at 1. You may get lucky but better to be prepared since SAB is your goal for the day

Awww! Thanks for your kind words. They really brightened my day!

Congrats on your anniversary milestone. My husband and I got married fairly young. We started dating as sophomores in high school and got married before our senior year at UNH. We had a two-part honeymoon. Montreal in the summer for a few days, then Disney during our January school break. Offsite somewhere. We are so excited to try out YC to celebrate our 30th!

CONGRATS to you on your 30th! And to Mars315 as well! HOPE you both enjoy your trips!:lovestruc We just celebrated our "33rd"!:love2:

I wanted to take a min to share my experience with our recent stay at Beach Club. We were there from 8/14- 8/19. It was our first stay here and first deluxe. I am so glad I chose this one!! We had a blast and everyone loved it. I know we can't go into detail if we use a travel agency but I got such a great rate. I basically had a choice of a few deluxes for certain time periods to get this particular rate and I am so happy with my choice. It was a standard view and I called prior to see if I could get a room with daybed. Of course they tell you it's not guaranteed and I was going to ask to change if I didn't get it. Well there was no need to worry. The only request we didn't get was the large balcony but instead we got a large room lol. Our room was 3692 and it wasn't just the twin fold down daybed it was a full pull out type daybed. We had a little lounge area right in front of our door and I didn't think it was that far from the elevators. I could tell the hallways kept going way past our bend so I think we pretty much scored. Yes it was a standard view looking directly over the front entrance of the resort but I didn't care. The size of the room made up for it. It was like we were at a corner, we had Windows on both sides and the room was very bright and clean. When we walked in my husband was amazed. Also the service was outstanding, every CM we interacted with was so nice. We loved Stormalong Bay and walking to the Boardwalk. We loved walking to Epcot in the evenings. I think we want to wait til 2018 or 19 before we go back to Disney and I know I want to stay here again. I am hooked lol.

image.jpeg This pic kind of shows you the space with the daybed. The other bed is behind me and not in the pic. I didn't get a pic of the view but one side was a roof and the other side with the balcony looked over the front driveway. It was 3692. This pic is also a bit deceiving because there was quite a bit of space between the daybed and bed. So when the daybed was completely pulled out it wasn't too close to the bed. There was enough room to walk between them but we kept it folded back during the day.[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

DS wanted the 2016 airplane, DD wanted the wonderland tea, I wanted the EP music CD, and DH wanted the haunted mansion life game. I also wanted to surprise the EP passports for the kids before we started our day at EP. According to the app all were found mostly in different stores so I just placed each item in the shopping cart on the app. The total was above $50 so I qualified for the 10% off with my Disney visa. When you get to the shipping options if you are two days away from check in through the second to last day of check out you can have it sent to your resort with no shipping charge. You can also have it shipped home for a charge or to the front of the park if you are in the park that day. Worked great! Available next day as if I had bought it in the gift shop and had it sent to the resort. I did it to qualify for the 10% off and to save time in line to buy and fill out the resort shipping form. I went shopping on the app at night while everyone was in bed from the comfort of my pjs! Unfortunately they don't do this for food so I had to make an in store only purchase for the Mickey pasta, Mickey sprinkles and goofy gummies. The app was great to find the sprinkles since they are not found everywhere. I knew the exact store to go to!

So I made one purchase through the app two days before check in since the life game stock was getting low. Then I made another purchase with the items we had seen on our trip. Did the second purchase all at once to get the discount.

Thanks for this info. Would have totally done this too at night in my pjs. Next trip! Did you just use the disney theme park store site? Thanks.

Hi everyone!

Well we have been having an awful summer. Well me mostly. The rest of my family is doing ok. I spent July waiting for, prepping and panicking about a colonoscopy, August my littles left me for a week at camp for the first time, then we had family drama, last week we had our first experience with lice (my littlest and she shared with me) and now they start school next week. I've been on anxiety overload and not sleeping.

That being said, hubby feels so bad and wants me to have a small break. I suggesting maybe one quick night and two full days with my bestie at my favourite place. Hoping to do the Halloween party if we can pull it off that fast. I wish we could afford the flights for all of us, or even just my girls, but we just can't. That being said. It would be a very low budget vaca, and I'm ok staying value (even hoping I could switch our May trip to a bounce back on this quick trip), but I see so many people talking about this magical agency witn incredible deals. Can someone tell me who or what that is (or PM me if this is a no no?). Nothing would make me happier than one night at a deluxe, a party, a good dinner and head home. Thanks for any insight!! I didn't want to start a new thread, I like y'all so much in here

I called the number for private dining today and spoke to a wonderful gentleman and gave him the basic information for the cake I want to surprise DH with for our 30th anniversary. In a few hours I had an email from another person at private dining and provided them very specific details for the cake I want done after I got done at work. I just checked and have received a reply back less than an hour after it was sent. I need to wait to get a price. I am thinking it will be a bit of sticker shock with the price.

The cake is Haunted Mansion themed and I took ideas from a number of cakes I seen online.

In comparison, yesterday I sent an email to order my birthday cake for Magic Kingdom (yes I am ordering my own cake - but then again, I know what I want) and it says it can take 72 hours to hear back from them.

Can anyone tell me where this room might be? To me, it appears to be a handicapped accessible room (we don't need this type of room but really don't mind getting it). Does this say 2 queen beds and a day bed?

It looks like this just happened to me, as well, though a handicapped accessible room was not requested. I just happened to notice it, when I checked my upcoming reservations on MDE.

I wonder if they have quite a few handicapped accessible rooms that have not been booked, but are short on non-accessible rooms.
