DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Hey all.
Just back from a quick trip to Montreal
(DW had a conference to go to. Might as well tag along, right?)

Never made it that far though it would be interesting once. Toronto and Niagara Falls are the main spots we visited when we were kids. Been out to BC as well to visit a college classmate. I would like to take the train up to Banff sometime, visit the Calgary Stampede, SWMBO wants to get back up to New Brunswick to visit her old school. At this point we can't even get in as neither of us have valid passports or the enhanced drivers license.

...There are still dry counties in the US? What's up with that? Do you vet the people that get the hops to make sure they are sent to a good home?
About 1/3 of them in KY, though many including mine, are having wet/dry votes to try to replace the lost money from coal mining. Hope Crash has fun in Hawaii. I can't imagine that it would be hard to have fun there once you arrived. I have no desire to fly anywhere now. Flying is like riding Greyhound in the sky now.

Montreal is interesting. I'd recommend at least a couple days there. Banff is crazy beautiful.

Morning chaps from Sunny London. Happy Fathers Day to all the Disdads! I've got the smoker going, Ribs today...
What's everyone else doing?

Happy Fathers Day to all!

In the 2 weeks the family has been north, DS broke his glasses and DD got stitches in her foot from broken glass, so I am meeting SWMBO half way and bringing the kids back to get all that resolved this week. Ribs would be great, but the big meal will be one of few fast food choices in the small town where I will meet them. Still on the green side of the sod though so life could be worse.

Happy Father's Day all. DS says he's "taking" me to a movie this afternoon. I'm guessing it will be my treat. ;)

Finished our team building and information meetings with our Canada Games leadership group last night. Didn't take long to start snoring last night.

It was.... interesting. On different levels. Missed the Canadian F1 race by just a couple of days, though... which may have been a good thing (thinking crowds.)

I flew through Montreal the Monday after the F1 a couple of years ago, the place was crazy!

What school in NB did you DW attend?

Happy Father's Day.

Not starting off too well today. I cut the grass Friday night and immediately afterwards, started coughing and nose running. So, I know its allergies, but I'm still coughing today and on different meds I found around the house. But, my wrist is hurting a bit, probably just sore from tennis, but when coughing and sick, everything feels that much worse. Sorry for the whining.

On a happier note, had a great Father's Day celebration yesterday. I ordered pizza, and pepperoni & cheese stuffed breadsticks from a local pizza place and it went down great with beer with lunch. That evening, we left the kids at home and DW and I went drinking at a local restaurant/ bar. That was really fun.

I would much prefer to fly, although it has been more than 10 years since the last time I did. However, tickets are still X4 for me and it is much cheaper to drive.

Leftover pizza? :lmao: I think DW is making a rum cake for her dad and we will celebrate later with that.

Happy Father's Day to you and the other DisDads as well. Ribs sound fantastic. Unfortunately I won't be having any since I'm away from home working :(

Sorry you're working and hope you get to enjoy some of the day.

I guess the phrase, "it's sure safe here in KY" never crossed your mind until now. :lmao: I know those type of things can happen anywhere and hope you all enjoy your time together. Is everyone back for the summer or just the week?

?

Yeah, those offers are terrific. My girls carried in my Father's Day present this AM, which was a new tennis racquet that DW handed them to give me. I of course, bought the racquet as DW had no idea what to buy for me. But, my girls were able to proudly show all their effort when handing me the gift. :sad2:
It's amazing what we do for our children.

Fun Father's Day so far.
Couldn't fall asleep until around 1:30-2:00 last night, dog woke us up at 3:30 because she's terrified of thunderstorms. Lasted about an hour or so. Around 7:30 she needed to go out. It's Father's Day to let the dog out apparently. Couldn't fall back asleep after all that.
DW says. "Are you up? (Wonder how she figured that out?) Wake me up at 11:00."
DD15 asked me yesterday when Father's Day was. "Tomorrow." Says I. She says. "Can I get you something after exams?"
DD19 is up this morning and says. "I have to go to work, I'll make you something (breakfast, I presume?) tomorrow."

Oh, well. My Mom's taking Dad, DW and me out for brunch later. So that'll be nice.
Then it's off to work til 11pm to round out the day.

Happy Father's Day gentlemen. Nothing much going on around here with DD in Hawaii. Was thinking about a steak for dinner tonight but probably not going to put in the effort to light the grill. Maybe a couple of bourbons tonight.

Norm, feel better and I hope everyone has a great day.

What racquet did you get Norm? I'm thinking about getting a new one....
Hope the allergies are calming down. I think leftover pizza is better than fresh. And Rum Cake is the business.

Maybe they could have given you the gift of sleep and take care of the dog? Don't work too hard.

Thanks. Enjoy the bourbon.

Prince Warrior 100 ESP. It has a higher power level than I'm used to. I was surprised that I liked the ESP for extra spin, and am going to string it with a multifilament to see if I can get the power and comfort.

Currently, i'm using the Prince Tour 98 ESP strung with Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour. The PHT is an awesome Poly string with lots of power, but I can feel it in my arm after multiple days.

Happy Fathers Day gents! Hope all are enjoying. In Chattanooga next couple of days for DS college orientation which starts tomorrow. Hit Walmart to getting bedding stuff, towels, lamp, storage stuff etc for him and dropped the stuff off at storage unit we have for DW and her roommate. Gonna have either a nice steak or seafood dinner at one of our favorite restaurants here.

Ribs sound good as does CJs bourbon. Hope ya feel better Norm.

You are a bad influence cj. Read your post and I'm now having a large Weller 12yo. For Father's Day.
