When I got to book room only its says u have to have a package to book Disney dining plan??

I was just researching this and an old post from @sharonabe led me in the right direction. ( "Can I add the dining plan?" thread for reference http://www.disboards.com/threads/can-i-add-the-dining-plan.3450954/ )

"There is now a 'ticketless package' where you can pay for the dining plan with a room reservation and no tickets are required. However, you have to call and make the reservation; it cannot be done online."

And note that the room has to be booked for you through Disney directly. The DDP can't be added to room only bookings from Orbitz or outside parties.

It's also described on Mousesavers as linked by @SouthFayetteFan in that same thread mentioned above.

I think the first ten days in December are excluded because it falls during Pop Warner week.

Are you referring to the taping of the Christmas parade? This date varies and typically is not announced until the Fall. If they are are taping this during your stay I do not think there is any additional admission.

Doh, I had a Homer moment I guess. Yes, I meant the Christmas parade! We were there in early November one time and heard about the filming. I know they limit the number of people who can enter for it and they film it EARLY!!!! But I'm not sure how people are chosen to participate.

Thank you for the December information. I figured there must be something happening.

One more question please. Our trip dynamics may be changing. Can you please tell me which resorts sleep 5 people, either with a roll away or a Murphy bed type situation? Thank you so very much!

I know Mods: POR and CBR can sleep 5. We stayed in a room at CBR last trip with the pull down little bed for Kids and it was cute.

I am not sure how many are chosen to participate in the Christmas parade taping and/or how early you have to be at the park. Typically this has been filmed after Thanksgiving but last year it was much earlier in November. I just cannot recall the date.

I think POR and CBR can accommodate five as can the family suites at AoA, which are extremely nice. I also think at least of the the All Stars has a suite for five.

The Pop Warner week brings a lot of people to Disney but from what I have read it does not have a profound impact on park attendance.

Here is a link to info about the taping in 2015. http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/christmas_world.htm

Thank you! When booking, how do you know whether you're getting a room with the extra bed? I know this is probably common knowledge, I just have no experience with this as we have always used our timeshare to trade in to stay in DVC resorts. Suddenly our trip for four, may become a trip for 5. So Ty! :butterfly

Ty!!! Same question. How would you know you are booking a room for 5 watt All Stars? Does it list it on the website when you're booking?

Last question, at least for today, lol, if roll always are available, which I intend to call about, will the website allow me to add five people to my reservation, despite the fact the room sleeps four?

Yes, I am nervously obsessing at this point. :badpc:

I think when you book a room with 5 people and all of them are over 3 years old then I think you can only book those. The Disney Site says that the room can hold up to 5 people.

I would go on the website and plug in five people at the various resorts and see what you get. I would recommend a family suite at AoA. They are really nice. I do not believe that they have rollaway beds.

Good luck!

Thank you so much! So, if I am online booking a free dining vacation and I add five people to the reservation, say at Caribbean Beach, it will automatically give me a room with the extra bed?

Thanks for all of the information! I'm definitely going to be comparing costs to the free dining vs. paying for the plan and getting a decent room discount. I'm going to book a free dining room just in case though and then if I don't need it I'll just cancel it.

I hope it has been helpful. If I were you I'd call today and ask what you should book in the event your party may increase to 5.

I heard that only deluxe resorts will get the regular dining and the others will get qs. I hope it's not true, but with Disney trying to nickel and dime people lately, I believe it.

Really!! I like to be prepared for any scenario that is going to happen! I am going to plan our dates for Value as well instead of moderate if that is the case! We always stay at Moderates, but if the QS is the option there this year as well, Value it is! Like another post said, it is better to have so much flexibility with resorts, dates and availability; we are ready for anything! lol

We booked our free dining bounce back and are staying at a moderate. We have the regular dining plan with table service and quick service.
